There can be a few improvements to the recent TAS. Like doing 7 challenges in 5 songs, then 5 of them in one song, and then finish the rest of the challenges.

Pressing Up, Down, Left, Right all at the same time is not possible with the arrow keys (due to limitation), but by turning num lock off you can press 2, 4, 6, 8 on the keypad all at the same time, it's possible. For game controllers, set up to up on the d-pad and the left analog stick, down to... you get the idea. FCEUX can assign more than one key/button to the same command.

I've done one on VirtuaNES using minimal slowdown and save states (NOT a pure TAS) YouTube: Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqhHscp_uh4 Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ev0uKR3VDhw Part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NuF1eDgJ9Lo Just for giggles, an alternate ending: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwxR3Msh2x8

I would say yes, because I would like to see a TAS of that game. It would be great.

This is a great port of the arcade hit. It has great sound clarity for an 8-bit game. You place cannons, shoot at ships, and build and repair walls. It would be interesting to do a TAS of this game. It has to be done on very hard. I would like to see a run for the fastest time, sinking all the ships. And maybe a no cannon survival run.

It's recommended that you use the most recent version and be played from start/power on. Try to get in 99 punches in the first training stage, 60 punches per second in the second one, 99 in the last one.

There could possibly be a lua script for Mega Man, in which you can change weapons using a specific key. But you need to get a particular weapon before you can press the key.

It also happened to me while I'm on FCEUX 2.1.4 while seeing the D-Pad Hero 2 TAS. My screen can't go lower than 640x480. The slowdown happened at window size 1024x720 (or 4x3) I'm hoping that Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 doesn't hog the CPU like what the 2010 version did. Dolphin runs real slow on my laptop, I still have my desktop, but the emulator won't load on my desktop. I think it has to do with the memory, I could probably expand the memory on my desktop from 512MB to 1GB.

http://tasvideos.org/Rules.html#EmulatorSpecificRule It is worth mentioning that there is at least one GBC game, Shantae, that recognizes whether it is running on a GBA, and utilizes GBA's hardware features if available. However, None of the available re-recording versions of VBA allows recording GBC movies in GBA mode. If I were to TAS Shantae on VBA using GBA mode, I would use Goomba Color. Upon start up, press L and R together, go to Other Settings, set Identify as GBA to On, then select restart. Goomba Color can be found here.

For the harder levels, the CPU thinks a lot about his next move. Fool's Mate anyone?

I have seen TASes of the GBA game (WarioWare Inc.: Mega Microgame$!) I'm willing to see a TAS on the Time Attack mode. Setting fastest times for 20, 40, and 60 microgames. Even a TAS of getting all the letters in during the credits. And maybe a TAS of Jump Forever (to 999 pts.)

I would like to see an entertaining movie of this game, having to skip cut scenes by resetting (like the GBA game).

The Reset Recording emulator is available to download. http://code.google.com/p/mupen64-rr/downloads/list We're hoping that Mupen64plus will be accepted for TASes.

I have Kaspersky, and I have been complaining about slowdowns for months, and experiencing them. I can't play N64, GBA, DS, GCN, Wii, PSX, and Saturn games, or watch or make TASes of 'em without slowdowns (excluding encodes). Having 2 or more instances of NES, SNES, and Genesis emulators slow it down too. Something like 99.9% protection is not 100%, it's like having a window leaving a gap. Your house would be losing energy.

A TAS of this game is possible. Doing 2 players, both grabbing the same yin-yang symbol counts as 2. Get 8 total to fight a boss. Go for the fastest time possible.

Extreme Quest is even more difficult as the snake moves faster and more levels are re-used. What if we could do a TAS of this game? We can use this following ROM Image: NeSnake 2 (V1.2) (NTSC) by Matrixz (PD).nes (I'm not providing a download link, you have to look for it yourself)

I would like to see two separate TASes of this game. The story (play from start / power on), make sure you end the movie right before the credits start (approximately). And after the story (play from reset / SRAM), use wonder mail mission to unlock Sky Blue Plains, enter it before you press continue. Randomness! Avoid traps by walking around them unless they fail. Warping can be manipulated. (Teleporting with Gardevoir and/or Alakazam FTW) Use the Warp orb to warp the enemies around the map. Monster Houses! If 4 or more items in a room are found (excluding shops) Luck Manipulate where Mew appears in the Buried Relic. Purity Forest is the hardest dungeon in the game EVER!!! Be sure you're holding a friend bow and you're at least level 30. Go for level 90.

Sorry for pumping this 5 year old topic, but I think the current version for recording zapper inputs is FCEUX 2.x.x Getting the maximum score is to shoot them all. Shoot the enemies before they go off screen (or far away) and shoot the missiles that's about to hit you. Levels 3 and 4 have rockets, they are faster. Shoot the bosses as fast as you can for the fastest time. In asteroid fields, shoot the asteroids. Only the lower ones can hit you.

The US version has a PRG0 and a PRG1. What is the difference between the two?

It would be great if we do a tool assisted speedrun on the puzzle mode.
