Same problem, on windows 7 64, bizhawk won't run with prereq and copying DLL. Ran no problem on same PC on windows 8, although I didn't think to try removing the dll from the base folder for this case.

While you did have to modify the file for it to play properly, it still prove that the glitches/shortcut used are valid, and that if mupen 64 was fully accurate, that the run would be 100% verifiable.
I interpreted the statement about conversion differently: N64Bot (or Droid64) can't directly read .m64s, so SoulCal apparently took the .m64 file and converted it to whatever format N64Bot/Droid64 reads (most likely raw binary dump to be sent to N64 according to clocking). There is only one possible result for such conversion for each .m64. Sometimes extra frames are inserted to fix sync problems (sometimes that helps) but it doesn't sound SoulCal needed to do that here. Due to nature of .m64 format, what wasn't validated here is correctness of lag on Mupen64.
If that is the case, then that's even better. But he did say "However I did have to modify the HELL out of the m64 to play it back right, but all frame and button data is the exact same (just some formatting)." So to me it somewhat sounds like he had to insert a bunch of blank frame here and there, but I am most likely wrong, and like your answer much better!

Just wow. I didnt think this was possible with the way people were saying how inacurate mupen was. While you did have to modify the file for it to play properly, it still prove that the glitches/shortcut used are valid, and that if mupen 64 was fully accurate, that the run would be 100% verifiable. Great work. Did not expect that.

I think thats what hes doing, playing back the DTM, he just use fraps to record it instead of dumping avi from dolphin's menu for reason that I dont know.

Doubtful that the emulator (or DS) even knows what you would consider the main screen I think the only way is to find a memory address that switch to another value when the "main screen" switch. Unsure how DS handle position, but to make it easy lets suppose that the Y position of Sonic is positive if on top screen and negative on bottom, then via lua you read the Y Position memory and switch which screen to render/dump. I know you didnt want a Lua solution, but thats most likely what it will have to be if you dont want to manually crop the output yourself. Someone that knows lua and the function needed for this could probably come up with a working script in 5 minutes Edit: After watching one of your WIP for the game, I think the viewer would be confused by fast screen switching like that if you only keep the main screen. I mean one frame sonic is at the bottom, next he's at the top.

I seem to recall having multiple version of a game using the same SLUS number, but my memory could be faulty

@EEssentia: Actually I used "emulate load time" to simplify what I meant. It should emulate the hardware that cause load time, so in this case memory limitation (which is most likely already done) and optic drive, using an average or a range of delay/speed as posted by another user in this thread. If using a range rather then an average, it should done in a deterministic way, otherwise movie wont synch (unless movie file format get a huge makeover and stop basing themselve on frame) Sure its not perfect, but much better then no load time at all for the sake of "accurate" emulation.

For TAS, load time should be emulated as accurately as possible. Lack of accurate load time shouldnt stop TASer from TASing game although, but if the option is there, it should be used. Bringing me to my last point, it should be (and most likely will/is already) an option, so people who just "play" the game can do so without/with faster load times. Edit: I also think emulated load time should be low on the emu coder "TO DO" list, get pretty much everything else working accurately/properly before bothering with this. So, if I was a Dolphin coder right now, there would be a crap load of things I'd do before bothering with accurate load times.

Thanks for the encode Dada :) I don't know what are the rules of TASvideos regarding using specific version to allow a sequence break, and even if it was allowed, I've no idea where to find this particular iso.
Rules encourage using the buggiest version of a game to exploit such glitches

He's not "Winning" anything, he just picks "Watch" on the main menu which sets both team on CPU. Obviously one of the team is going to win. Voting no, because the entertainment level wasnt up to par with other sports game "playaround" on this site.

Not entertaining enough to warrant a special consideration, I even found the setup to skip the enemy (a good half of the movie) boring. Voted No

I'm assuming he's talking about requirements for 100% (or what he thinks should they should be)

The boss fight was good, but the preparation for it was kinda boring, I just hope its not like that for all boss fight. (Sorry havent watched any other encode of the run, and barely remember anything about the game, so this is not an informed post) Keep up the good work, will watch the submission for sure.

Voting yes, enjoyed the few glitches used. Hope someone will make a 100% run or a playaround showing more of those glitches!

If the game runs faster on faster computer, wouldnt that mean that the game tried to push more frame per second or poll input more time per second? If so, couldnt that be used as a length mesurement and obsoletion benchmark? Also, were these little toxic waste barrel the exact same as the one found in duke nukem?

Using JPC-rr 11.2, I succesfully watched the commander keen 5 movie but there was no sound, I also tried playing the game myself, going into the game menu and enabling soundblaster (also tried adlib) and still no sound to be heard. Same thing happen when I play Duke Nukem 1 shareware (didnt get a good image assembled, so the movie wouldnt load even though I followed the same step as the movie author to make my disc image). Also, is emulated keyboard the only way to control or I'm missing something? (Windows 7 x64 if that makes a difference) Edit: Just tested if I was getting sound from running those 2 game (from the same folder I used to create my disc image) in dosbox, and both have sound with dosbox.

Yup, 2.0.2 svn0, the one thats available when you go to the "Emulator" tab. I switched from BIOS 1000 to 1001, and reloaded a savestate from earlier, still doing the same thing. Its right when Ifrit cast Fire a few second after he says "Impudent Humans". Gonna try with 1001 from the start with no savestate. But I am wondering how it could happen as you dont press start anyway. Edit: I am unsure its the "pause" screen as its been a while since I played that game, but it shows help text saying "attack with current weapon" and the setting for vibration Edit 2: Ok, now starting from scratch using 1001 without reloading a savestate make the ifrit battle much different, so I guess it was a desynch, and that start input was meant to be used further in the game. Ifrit completed, so I'm guessing I'm trouble free now

Trying to watch using the movie file (watching an encode is out of the question with my bandwith limit) and I keep desynching during Ifrit's fight, somehow the game gets paused and afterward it just modify the "vibration" setting. Would using a different BIOS then the one you used to create the TAS cause this, or some other settings? (I'm just running it with default option). If not, can someone post a savestate just after the ifrit fight please?
