Can't wait to see more Final Fantasy games on the GameBoy. :-) I only play one from them short, but never like it so much. But I would like to see TAS from all of them. Good Luck, when you try it.

I think Speed Demos Archive is one from the best. I don't know many others. Persona has in the past a site with some Castlevania Runs and Beat em Up Games, but since some days the site is down. Persona-World (down ?) Then I know a C64 site, which do no Speedruns, but Longplays. So they don't play for speed, more for show everything in a game. But Tool-Assisted too. They use Save States and sometimes reload them when they die. C64 Longplays And near the same for Amiga games here. Recorded Amiga Games But I know no other Non Tool Assisted site in the moment.

Ok, then its much better then I have think. Great job. Another question, maybe a bit Off-Topic: It is manipulatable that the CPU get a Warp powerup? And what will happen then? Can he Warp to another Stage?

Voted yes. Great luck manipulation with the Warps. Only a question: Is it not possible to get always the Warp from the first block like it work in some Stages? In other Stages you must destroy more blocks till the Warp appear. How this luck manipulation work? Are the Warp already in the block when you start the Stage, or is the time when you destroy the block important?

Here is a cheated movie that finishes the game in 7:05 http://www.angelfire.com/ex/uobt/arkanoid-foda-cheated.zip The objective was to finish the game as fast as possible, using all resources the game gives. That includes the continue code, a glitch and the warps. It's not optimized at all, i didn't even get the warp on all levels because i didn't want to waste too much time on luck manipulation. But i've tested, and this is faster than using the level skip code.
Must I enter a Cheat Code to play this one? Because first I wait some seconds and nothing happen. Then at the second time in the Start menu it start, but you die. So I think it desync for me, but use the correct ROM.

My first was an older one: ffdshow-20051221 Now I have install the newest I think: ffdshow-20060226 and still this problem. Edit: Same problem when I jump in some movies. Then it crash by some movies too. When I just watch these movies which don't crash at start then they work. But when I jump to a point it can crash. Not always.

I think the same as FODA. Laser would to boring to watch, just shot fast all blocks. So this is great when you don't use it. The other thing is harder. Faster Stage or no Ball losing. Genisto's movies was great, that he never lose a ball. So I think its maybe better to do it too. When you play at all not for fastest time (use no laser), why lose a ball for a bit faster time? How much time would get lost, when you not lose a ball?

I have download and install ffdshow since some weeks. Most movies work great without problems. But now I have download some movies which crash with this ffdshow. It has nothing to do with the Player, because it crash with 2 different Players (Windows Media Player & Power DVD). For example Karateka crashs (in the NES Topic Forum someone played and record a movie) and the new Pokémon Red movie crash. Both work fine with the mplayer, because it don't use the FFDShow Codecs. I have disable the Codec H264, but then the movie search for a codec. So this codec is used in the movies. Has something to do with the file FFDSHOW.AX. What can I do? Has someone else this problem? Here the error not sure about some words, because mine is in german: MPLAYER2 an invalid instruction FFDSHOW.AX in 017f:30addb05 . Register: EAX=ffffffff CS=017f EIP=30addb05 EFLGS=00010297 EBX=02a8fbe8 SS=0187 ESP=02a8faf8 EBP=02a8fba4 ECX=01b73804 DS=0187 ESI=00000120 FS=685f EDX=ffffffff ES=0187 EDI=00000360 GS=0000 Bytes bei CS:EIP: 0f e0 e1 0f 6f 74 24 28 0f 7f a4 24 98 00 00 00 Stapelwerte: 0000000a 0264ad20 0000000a 00000000 01010101 01010101 00000000 00000002 00000001 00000000 10101010 10101010 10101010 10101010 10101010 10101010 Or can't I do anything just use the other Player were it not crash?

Ok, here my first WIP from this TAS which I do in the moment. Tail Gator (U) - Area 1 done There exist 3 Areas with always 4 Stages which contain 4 rooms and the 4th Area has only 2 Stages when I read it correct in a FAQ. The Boss is always at the same Stage in an Area. So I do this Stage at last to show the Bosses always at the end from a Area. I use many tricks to open the chests as fast as possible (jump with the first hit or jump with the last save some Frames). But sometimes there are so many different chests in one room that I not always sure which is the fastest way. The first Boss (Frog) was easy to defeat. He not jump to the left side and I can hit him as fast and often as possible. Should I continue on it and finish it? It is good and entertainment to watch?

This must be a bad red jewel. I remeber in the past as I play it I got it without problems. Just go in the Cave and out till he sit there. But my mother miss this one and can't reach the Secret Stage. Hope to hear some updates soon. Good luck for a perfect luck manipulation.

Have see now this movie. Never hear or see this game before. Wonder me about the missing knife throws, but this was explained in the discribtion. Only one other question. Can't you carry so much Ludder? One time after you buy more Orange Scrolls you go back to the enemie where you fight for Ludder and then go back again to buy something (I think another Orange Scrolls) in the shop. But looks great at all and interesting.

Voted yes. Great run, great luck manipulation. And the best, you used Mew as early as possible. Its my favourite Pokémon and its great to see this Glitch in a TAS. I never see it before, just read about it. Thank you very much that you used Mew.

Was ist das nächste Spiel, das du dir vornehmen willst? Hoffentlich wieder ein RPG! :D
I have already start working on the next TAS. But sorry, no RPG. RPG's takes so long and its a hard work. I don't know many RPG's so good to make good TAS from them. And these which I know most already done. The planing is much work and I will do some other games which are easier to do in the moment. But I am happy, that my dream comes true and I finished this great RPG as great TAS now. My favourite GB game and one from my all time favourites. Was my first TAS project and takes me 4 tries till it was so great done. Now I need shorter games which takes not so long to do. I will not say on what I am working in the moment, but as all my TAS in the past its again a GB game. And its a nice platform game were you can do very precision moves. In the moment I feel a bit ill and found not much time to working on it. And I do it in small parts, that I not lost the motivation. Must see when I find time to do the next part from it. So just wait till it is finish.

You know, I have very fond memories of playing this on the game boy when it came out, and i actually accidentally discovered that warp to the snowfield once. I hadn't yet gotten that far in the game so i didn't know what the hell was going on. I died pretty fast when I touched one of the snowmen :P I thought something was wrong with my cart back then, but it never happened again. Interesting to see it reproduced here!
There exist 2 different Warps to the Snowfield. I found myself one and look in the Internet to find information about it. Then I found 4 other Warps where 3 used here. One warp you only back, so its useless. The other Warp to the Snowfield which I found myself and not listed somewhere is slower, so I used the faster one. Here how the other Snowfield Warp works: Get one screen to the right from Kett's entrance. Use the sickle to cut the grass at the right side and walk at the uppest path at the lake through the right screen. You will stand inside the grass and can't move. Now use the sickle one time and walk back. You will land in the Snowfield. After the sickle is used the Warp is activated. When you walk to the right or up you will land in the Water and can't move anymore. Only to the left it is possible to reach the Snowfield. But when you don't have the swimming Chocobo, you can't leave this place anymore.

Yes, cheats are a bad idea. We already use Tools to make the movies with Save State and Slow Down, so there is no need for cheats anymore. All games should be easy playable with these Tools.

I realize it's more from the SoM series, but don't both take place in the same world?
Not 100% sure. In Secret of Mana games the main story has most something to do with a tree (the Mana tree). Final Fantasy has more something to do with Crystals and Elements. So the main Story is a bit different. Both plays in a Fantasy World, but most Adventure games plays in a Fantasy World. ;-)

But my point is, How can a movie be entertaining if it doesn't add anything really "New". If it LOOKS like the previous movie, how can that be considered entertainment. No doubt, 19 frames is a great improvement, but that isn't the question.
The problem is, when there exist no new tricks anymore. Should not the fastest movie published? Or the first who found all different tricks which can be shown in a TAS? I think the fastest, when it is as entertainment as the old ones. Do you think when a movie show all different tricks it should published and never ever obsoleted? Then this site were full from movies which show many tricks, but have a longer time then other which rejected in the workbench. This site would never again publish the fastest movies, only movies which show all know tricks in the game. Was the first movie from SleepZ entertainment for you? If yes, why is a faster one not as entertainment as SleepZ TAS when it show the same tricks? Only because it show nothing new? So when you would watch again SleepZ movie it is not entertainment anymore for you and you would vote a second time no too? When SleepZ would do a faster one which show nothing new you would vote no? I know an old Super Mario Bros movie, which was the most entertainment one for me. It show many different tricks which I never hear or see before. But it goes not for Speed. Some Stages were finished with a timer which stand at 0. This is already obsoleted, but it contain tricks and glitches which are missing in the new faster ones. Should it stay forever on this site, because it show all different known tricks? Sure for everyone its different what he thinks and love. But I think as fast as possible is most the best choice. Only when it is possible to make it more entertainment and this was not done, then vote no. But when someone try his best and make it entertainment with all known tricks at this time I would vote everytime yes. And this was done here. A faster movie, which show all known tricks at this time.

Has only the original author the right to improve his runs? No. Phil improved Sleepz run already, why should not someone else improve it again, when it is possible. At the other side, the original first author did a great job, when he was the first, who released a movie from a game. He show tricks, which other runner copie and add there new tricks to make it faster. At the end we have a great movie where many different people have worked. So from me much respect for the original author from every movie, and respect for everyone who found new tricks and glitches to make the movies faster. Sure its always a bad feeling, when a movie gets obsoleted from a different author. But thats show, that the first movie was not perfect. Everyone must live with this feeling, and I think many here know this, that it can or will happen someday. So I vote yes, but I have still one question: The Bird head Boss, the one in 7.2 infront of the last Boss. Why all always use the second stone, to defeat him? When Toad carry an item he is faster, so would it not save time, when he carry the first stone and use this as item to defeat the Bird head? He can walk faster from this point to the head. Or takes the Boss so long, till he wake up that it is not important, which stone Toad pick up?
