Shouldn't an all stages run obselete adelikat's run? I feel they are too similar to co-exist.

The big stumbling block to finding life on Mars is the temperature. On Earth the average temperature is about 15°C, on the Moon its about -18°C and on Mars its roughly -55°C. However, I do suspect life is possible in the future. For few hundred thousand years when the Sun is on life support.

I also support "Executes Arbitrary Code", which is rather modest, but that's good, because the shown result (the picture and music) is not as extremely mindblowing as it could be in theory. So, while I think this movie should get a Star, I wouldn't try to oversell it by calling with pathos-filled names like "Total Control" or Matrix-related stuff.
I agree with all of this; including the suggestion of it being a star
I think a moon would be more appropiate. This is like completing every NES game using 1 input. Its a great technical achievement, but not fun to watch. When I rewatch the run, I usually skip the first 10 mins to see the worthwhile part of it.

I'd be curious to know if this will play back correctly on console. First we had time savers;then we had design exploits;then we had glitches;then we had glitches that could skip vast sections of a game;then we had glitches that could rewrite the variables within the game;then we had glitches that could inexplicably warp a player to the end of the game and now we have glitches that allows someone to write their own programs within the game. No doubt we'll see a more advanced program like Pong be written within the games code a couple of years down the line.

And the previous one was also a M64 TAS. Coincidence? I think not!
Only TAS I could see rivaling it in the future is the Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island 100%
Not a chance. I could see it happening with Metroid Prime.

Console Verified.
Watching that video, the duration on real console appears to be about 1:21:21 (~39.5 seconds more than movie file length). Of course, there are sources of inaccuracy in that (video production might have altered the timings a bit).
Timing accuracy in mupen64 is a joke. It does not surprise me that the movie completes in a different time when run on console.
Not at all, you'll find that with even the most accurate emus on the site. Mupen calculates frames at 60fps while NTSC does 59.85, which is roughly 1.55% difference in timing. With my rough calculations I was expecting to see a console time of 1:21:57.93

Could you please time the run on console as accurately as you can? I'd like to be able to compare it with realtime runs, and don't trust Mupen to calculate the time correctly.
No emulator is ever going to give you the exact timing on a console because of the differing frame rates. Mupen calculates frames at 60FPS, while a console does 59.85. Also, SM64 has areas which lag a lot more on an N64.

I found this movie entertaining, strong yes vote. There were some glitches and optimization tactics. Very nice.
The glitches in the run were the intended method. I just played through the game before watching this so yes vote.

I don't think I agree with that - mainly because this rule would, in practice, mean that most romhacks of Mario and Metroid would get in, and most Windows games from the indie scene would be rejected. It strikes me as straightforward to base it on game quality.
There is a well established rule that a rom hack has to offer something that the orginal game didn't. It also needs to look appealing and not be impossible to beat without TAS reflexes.

I still have to vote no on this for being a poorly made *homebrew and more importantly far too trivial. *I know we can no longer use game choice as a reason for rejection, but I still believe the rule should apply to hacks and homebrews.

I'm not sure, it depends if it will inspire someone else to submit an improved version somewhere down the line.

Having watched it back a couple of days ago I find it pretty cringe worthy to watch from a technical stand point. Not doing a bigger jump when using the cape is a pretty noticable error in the first level. Missing health pickups which would have allowed for more damage in later stages is another one. There is also the momentum bug where you can maintain higher speed if you continually jump after sliding down a slope. I will admit I didn't put a great deal of effort into it at the time. Knowing full well there was a 50/50 chance of it being rejected. The plan was to submit an improved version in 2007 in the event that it was accepted. Nowadays with my waning interest in TASing I couldn't care less if it was accepted or not since I have no interest in submiting an improved version. Link to video

Moozooh, from what I'm aware of the votes in the recent Russian election were manipulated by allowing known Putin supporters to vote multiple times. This was done by traveling to different polling stations and showing I.D. with a special apple logo to the voting registerer.

I wonder how much faster a TAS of this would be? Assuming Dolphin load times ever get close to the real console, of course.
Although its a vague method of measurement. When I was comparing my Duke 64 TAS to WRs where identical strats were used. They were on average 10% faster, which would make me believe that 45-46 might be realistically obtainable.

Soon someone will post an Indiana Jones NES TAS where they crash the game in a handful of frames by holding <>.

Some observations I made about this election... 1. Republicans should have walked this election, there was about 2-3 credible nominees (I would have gone with Ron Paul). Romney was an awful, awful candidate. Worse than John Kerry in 2004. He got nominated purely because he had the deepest pockets. He flip flopped on so many issues, I had no idea where he stood. 2. UK elections are often criticized for being too negative (although in recent years they're becoming less so), but the US ones take it to a whole new level. Literally 90%+ ads are negative, often based on half-truths and outright lies about their opponents. Crucially, like last time Obama was able to out blitz his opponent. 3. Way too much money spent on campaigning and a lot of it was evidently wasted by both sides. The amount spent could run the BBC for a year. 4. There seems to be enough disillusionment with both parties that a 3rd one is needed. However, it would most likely take 30-40 years before the party leader could realistically become president. 5. The style of campaigning by both sides is outdated. All I see is Nuremburg style rallies where a canditate will fire out propaganda unchalleged, and ads. There is debates, but they're very narrowly focused. Since the nominee's know what questions to expect. Its very easy to have a perfectly prepared answer, attack and rebuff.

But aren't cheat codes disallowed?
The Streets of Rage 2 game uses a cheat to get Mania difficulty. There has never been a rule against using cheats or passwords to make the game harder.
