That I can understand, but it doesn't excuse you from not trying. The very least you could have done is to have gotten help from someone.

Some of you may of heard it Yesterday, but there is unconfirmed reports that scientists have found particles that travel faster than the speed of light. The particle in question is a neutrino, which by definition is a electrically neutral subatomic particle. While it might not seem like a big deal to many, it challenges many of the fundamental things that are taught in Psychics. To me its very surprising anything like this is possible. Light has strange properties as it behaves both like a wave and a particle. Which caused a debates for many years among scientists until Einstein came along. Basically, he proposed that light was a photon which are small individial waves that are about the size of a particle. Not that I have any great knowledge of it, but this will surely have a signigicant impact on the world of Cosmology (think Steven Hawking). Surely there must be places in spaces where time itself it being warped. An article about it can be found here

I'm not exactly sure it would be all that entertaining, you're gonna have a lot of lengthy hovers.

A Chinese and American nuclear missile. That way I could fire a Chinese missile at the US and vice versa so I can start WW3.

BTW, you should be TASing Syobon 2 as it has the extra levels which are more difficult.

Don't get your hopes up, they'll just send you a vague message telling you why they can't approve.

While MM10 might be good game to speedrun, it doesn't translate that well into a TAS. I find it very hard to spot the difference between the TAS and regular speedruns. It's not on the same level as MM1+MM2.

I'm looking into doing an improvement, and I'm currently researching the up to date route and tricks that would be required for TASing the game. The major trick I'm having problems with is the Ebis slide demonstrated in the last post, I don't know how he manages to get twice the amount of speed I get off the slide. Currently my method for getting the slide from a standing still position is Hold forward for 1-3 frames Let go of stick for 1 frame Hold forward and ^c to do the transformation slide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUrKdgrYi68

I voted no, despite the superfast looking movements its really just the same thing repeated over and over. Not shooting the credits was unforgivable, the best option for this game would be to do an Adventure Mode and a 4p match TAS.

The hack is unappealing to look at. The action never flows because there is so many waiting periods. The subsequent hacks this game inspired probably make better candidates for TASes. I have to vote No.

As far as I can tell the DS and PSX version are nearly identical. The advantages of the DS run is that it skips cutscenes and door transitions. Despite that I'd personally prefer to see the PSX version on the site. However, the GCN version would need be a seperate category due to the extra content that adds 15-20 mins.

You didn't need test that because of what happens when Mario exits BitFS during the 0 star run.

Is this going anywhere? What are the current list of games being considered? Why am I not on the list as tentative? And why do I look so good in red shoes?

This is one of these TASes you can't appreaciate unless you've played the game (like me). Definite yes vote.

I'd like to nominate Whip Rush for the Genesis. I just played throught it earlier (holy s**t is it hard) using a ton of save states. It should take a TAS about 20 mins to play through it. Its a 2D space shooter with 7 stages which offers a surprising amount of variety. It should be easily possible to do a fairly decent TAS of the game within a week.

I'm in, but it will depend on the game choice as to whether I'll commit to the challenge or not. I'd personally prefer to do a NES game this year.

I don't really get your attitude AjAX, outside of route planning and engine/design expoits. You're effectively trying to complete a game in as few frames as possible. Striving to be perfect and not settling for less is an essential skill when it comes to TASing. Reiteration is a vital part of that, something you evidently didn't do during your attempt. You should also keep in mind that RE1 is a very simple game compared to most of the other popular 3D games, so it's fair for us to expect something thats close to frame perfect.

The only uses for being frozen is if you have an incurable illness, or if you're suffering an existential crisis and effectively want to start over.

After watching the DS version, I have to admit it's a lot more optimized than this run. So it's unlikely the run would have been accepted.

This is one of these games that are fun to playthrough and speedrun, but don't translate into a good TAS. 95% of the run is just running from A to B with not much in the way to stop you, and much of the movements look very approximate. I'll vote meh on this one, but I look forward to seeing the GCN version being TASed.
Very approximate? Explain please :) 95% of the run is just running with not much in the way, each zombie has a particular technique to be avoided, some took lots of re-record to get, I run RE in real time settings and you get bitten a lot in them.
When you're navigating round bends Jill seems act like she trying to steer on ice for much of the run and you seem to make constant corrections to try and get here facing the correct direction. 4353 rerecords dictates that it wasn't hard to dodge zombies when you have savestates on your side. How hard something is to do in real time is of little relevence to the TASing community as a whole. Of course in this instance me and many others have played the game and know how difficult it can be to dodge zombies in tight corridors.
