Your time sounds very slow even with all the goals you have in mind and you've only used 961 re-records which is way to few for any game, never mind an exceptionally complicated game like this. I haven't watched because I know I'll vote 'no' regardless.

Snes9x has more features, but they're horribly implemented and contain bugs which have gone unfixed for years. Prefer Gens overall.

These differences don't warrant a version change. There has to be a glitch which is exclusive to the J version to justify switching.

Can't you just tell us the problem in this thread instead of linking us to your previous posts. Is your problem playing the game back in real time? If so don't worry about it as it won't affect your abilty to TAS the game. Or is it being able start up the rom on Mupen? If thats the case then you're probably going to have to reinstall Mupen. Just unzip the orginal Mupen folder you downloaded, as that will re-write the corrupted/lost .ini files. If that doesn't help then damn me if I know what to do.

There was less than 100 games made for the Atari Lynx, and this was the best game you could find? I have to say if thats the case then much like Atari 2600 games I don't consider this platform good enough to publish anything. I was skeptical about SMS when TASing became possible, but over time it's justified it's existence. As for the game itself it has horrible music, sound effects, animation and at best below average game play. Meh vote

That makes it useful for secretly sharing WIPs. Unless you wipe your history folder on a regular basis then it should be possible to browse through it and recover lost links. I guess you could create a system where you could register on DeHackEd and track your upload/download for you. That way you can have another cookie :-)

I wish people wouldn't put "TAS WR" or "TWR" in their YouTube descriptions.

Thats a good point Mmbossman made. I don't think $10-20 is really much on an incentive. You would have just as much success just flat out requesting someone to do a run. This is not Twin Galaxies where members tend to be older and have high paying jobs or run successful businesses. So you can't expect people to throw round 10k bounties (except Angerfist) for submitting or improving a current movie. Believe me, if I had money I'd be happy to throw around 1k+ bounties for various runs and achivements.

I'm not saying the "The game isn't suited for Speedrunning" or "The game is too trivial to TAS". My point is while many might find the movie amusing, it's simply not very impressive to watch from a visual point of view. Viewers would get the same enjoyment out of someone inputing the answers in real time. Thats why ISS is much better suited to a star.

The problem with Family Feud is that the only form of tool-assistance comes from typing in answers at the optimal speed, something which is trivial to do using frame advance+save states.

Like Moozooh said, while live TASing has big potential. It could easilly be a huge disaster if done wrong. It would be greatly dependent on the game and whose TASing it. If a newbie is TASing, then veteran TASers would be able to provide helpful advice. If a veteran TASer is doing it, then it might provide a helpful and informative insight for others. A game like SMB1 can be TASed very quickly, and most likely hold the attention of everybody. A 2p, or complex 3D game could have much bigger delays between savestates being reloaded as inputs need to be carefully considered beforehand and the TASer could be spending hours for just a few seconds worth of input.

What bug fixes and updates are included? I don't see any documentation.

There doesn't seem to be any common consensus on this. Is it T-A-S TA-Sisssss (What I would say) TA-Zzzz

I don't know why, but I've always hated ducks. Especially when they go *Quack* *Quack*. So it's always been my dream to shoot one of them right in the face, and this game provides the perfect antidote to it it. Yes vote. /sarcasm

In the previously published run I thought it was overused and lost the effect it should have had on the viewers. That was the reason it was only used once througout the run. Your point at the end is moot, because the trick was well known before the run was worked on.

Are you saying there could be some secret exit off one the maps that leads to the Venus lighthous? If so you'll still have to overcome the difficulty of beating Saturos+Menardi and Fusion Dragon. Would it be practical to skip Mia? After all she plays the role of the sterotypical healer during the boss fights. EDIT: Out of interest for GS2, does anyone know the password to transfer max stats over to the characters from GS1?

I don't think this game will ever be suitable for TASing, you might want to try your luck at something else.

1. There is no challenge to making a Duck Hunt TAS whatsoever. Optimizing a game like Duck Hunt is about as straightforward as it gets. I know the guidelines say that the effort is irrelevant (ie, playing a TAS in real-time instead of with frame advance doesn't make it more impressive) but I think this is taking it a bit too far. It's like if you were to do a TAS of Rock Paper Scissors.

No kidding. We did an optimized descent from ZR to HM some time ago and it's 20-30 seconds faster.

I vote yes to unpublishing Batman Begins. Me, Bloobiebla and Swordlesslink are planning on doing OoT during the summer. That way we're all available and have no real distractions, so expect to see a new OoT run in June/July.
