You'll still need to obtain various abilities in order to overcome bosses and King K Rool

Don't you still need to collect various other stuff in order to complete Hideout Helm?

Sonic Jam. Nah, I kid, I kid. Unless you REALLY want a Sonic 1 with spin dash.
I dunno; that may be pretty interesting to see after all, considering what Tails and Knux have already done with said spindash. :p
You should note that some of the bugs are fixed when you apply spin dash. It's just Sonic 2 code attached to Sonic.

Interesting movements and strategies in general. The length is just about right for this game. Definite yes vote.

I'm having real problems try to get a game to run. I've tried running it from a CD, but when I configure the setting by change the disk type to CD it causes the emu to crash and I'm forced to delete the .ini as it crashes every time I try to open it. I've tried downloading the game but when I load the .bin file it just causes the emu to crash and I'm again forced to delete the .ini.

Because somewhere down the line the game will become TASable.

The fights are more trivial than the boss battles from the regular games. The bosses have too little HP and don't do anything. I have to vote 'no'.

Why not TAS the DK rap?

I'm not that thrilled about this movie. It's very uneventful, there is hardly any challenging situations to deal with and the ending is anti-climatic. I have to vote 'no', but I can't wait to see a regular run through the game :-)

I find it odd that this submission is being resurrected. Given that it was fought tooth and nail to get published before it was initially rejected.

For some reason, my Mupen64 won't let me press up and right at the same time when I'm making a movie frame by frame. Advice?
It's probably to do with your keyboard. You can always left click on the 0.6 input to hold certain button combinations.

Comicalflop is entitled to his own opinion you know. My vote was only a weak yes vote. In other words "It's Publishable" even though the 2p action is sub standard and fails to create situations which are unlikely against a CPU or another player.

Much better than the previous efforts I'll give it a 'yes' vote.

I don't have time to compare it all right now. But I know I would prefer an in-game time run with damage only if it saves time.
I think this is one of the few exceptional games where takes damage to save time/takes no damage would be acceptable categories. EDIT: Voted Meh

A 'no' from me sadly. It's the lack of music and sound effects which make the game dull. It also looks very suboptimal when compared to the Genesis run*. It should be possible to improve the current run by 1-2 seconds. There is probably more justification in doing the SNES version because of the differences in gravity/damage physics. *Deliberately not referring to myself because Raiscan apparently disapproves

I've tried patching the rom and can't get it to run even after using TT64. Maybe someone could be kind enough to PM me the patched rom :-)

There's a reason for having a sticky topic in the Mupen section.

Given that DeSmeME is such a laggy emulator. Is there a possibilty of implementing a skip lag frames option when frame advancing?

Can't wait till this run appears on the workbench. The WIP despite being unoptimized was more enjoyable than any of the Sonic Advance games.

I'm on board with Superjupi, I think getting a high score/fast time will be trivial when TASed.

Is it possible to change the colour of the text via changing settings in VLC? Also I would have preferred if the text was positioned at the top.

Why? Blaze's run is more optimal than mine, and has a clearer goal. I enjoyed his movie more than my own.
IIRC, it was only faster because he skipped the bonus stages via suicides. I don't want to see any of the rejected SSB runs revived. I'd rather a newer, better one came along. Yo-Noid and Sonic 1 hack with Tails are the submissions I'd like to see revived.
