I'm gonna vote 'meh' to this run. The movie looked rushed and avoids doing anything entertaining. Ideally you should try to get a high score, the previous movie did a better job IMO.
A resounding yes vote, now adelikat owes me apology for endless ridicule of how perfect the previous movie was, then again I never would have thought that it could be improved so notably. So I'd vote yes a second time if I could :-D
I've tried that glitch moozooh mentioned quite a while ago and I couldn't get it to work. Although I modified that part of the level to see how much time it would save and it came to 3 game units. Ironically all the pipes warp Mario back to the start of that area if you do the same glitch for the minus worlds.
Since you've found an improvement (assuming what you're saying is true) I'd recommend trying to redo the movie with better stylistic choices, i.e. don't needlessly do a series backwards jumps except where it saves time , instead try to use a series of minimal jumps. Also you might want to do what the current SMB3 movie does by getting fastest time+score.
I have another question. I've recorded a speed run of a level for a test with mupen64 0.5 and i have the m64 file. I can't figure out how to convert the video to avi though. I go to start movie playback and open the file. Then once it starts i go to Avi capture and set it to record in mircosoft video 1. Then once it starts again the framerate drops to about 5 per second and it gets really laggy. Then when i go play the video it says its 4 gigs and when i start it up the sound laggs horribly and the screen turns different colors and the screen has the same picture the whole video.
So how do i make it so that i can put my video up on youtube?
Where would i get this TAS input plugin and how do i apply it?
I actually just use FRAPS, although if you desperately want good quality and sound you'll need to use the method you were refering to initially, but beware as FRAPS does have a tendency to desync with the audio.
I quite liked the multiple fumbles you did, as well as that really long 100 yard throw you did, which earned you a touchdown. I know they say graphics don't make a game, but in this game you're dependent on them. Since the sprites constantly blink (yes, a common NES flaw) and often they continually overlay each other, making the action very difficult to follow. One suggestion might be to use on of the Madden games on the Genesis as that has a lot of quirks like the ambulance driving onto the field and knocking away everyone in its path. Still, a lot better than its predeccessor so I'll vote yes. Now for some soccer !!!
You can no longer upload videos longer than ten minutes regardless of what type of account you have.
Users who had previously been allowed to upload longer content still retain this ability, so you may occasionally see videos that are longer than ten minutes.
If that true explain how I was able to upload the recent TAS I did, where the video length exceeds 10 mins.
If you want to show ignorance, at least do so without quoting the very information that gives an answer to your question. :) (Marked in bold)
Bisqwit, you are the one who missed the point. Mainly the part which you just bolded. Your statement was based on a semi-truth i.e. the non bolded part you quoted. Since you spefically stated

There's Youtube of course, but Youtube has 10 minute limits. And Google Videos, but I'm not familiar with their terms of service, and whether they can be embedded.
YouTube 10 min limit only applies to people without directors accounts. The only limit that universally applies to everyone is the 100mb upload. Although this is still very restrictive when it comes to showing longer movie which require relatively high bit rates i.e. N64 games.
I was actually just experimenting with SMS games and thought this might be a possibilty although it only just dawned on me that the run was on the workbench. Its a fun game to watch, although I suspect it can be done better. I'll give this a yes.
Its curiousity that drives us wherever that may take us. Those who don't wish to find new short cuts or errors will be left to improving the same game but doing everything a little more optimally every time and thats even more boring.
The one thing I'd be interested to know is if antids can be used to record on normally without reseting and play back normally on regular Mupen. This might make it easier for future runnners.
In B+K and DK64, it is widely known that the game does surface checks in relation to the water. While they may seem very different games OoT and SM64 have very simalar engines and both games share simalar water physics, although how the characters interact with the water is a different subject. Both games have water environments definined by a large square, with the water stretching infinitly downwards, and I know from playing OoT that you can make Link fall off the edge of the map and then move him into the defined water area, then he will start swimming again. You can also do a similar thing with Mario on the WF and TTM courses. So to conclude, my belief is that charging through the surface would not cause Mario to ignore the water environment.
EDIT:

Just to answer your moat door question: the door is fully operable while the moat is full. The only thing stopping you from using it is that you cannot manipulate doors while swimming.
Also, it's theoretically impossible to pass that door with the moat full due to there being no clear path to clip through the wall. Doesn't mean it can't be done, it just means that there doesn't appear to be a way to do so. Positioning is everything.
You can actually get past the moat door if you use the moat glitch , although it doesn't allow you to open the door. Before other unrelated question pop up the answer is "no".
anyone playing in real time could do that. Its what there most likely to do on a first time playthrough, and its not exactly fun to watch someone playing a game on there first play through.
Then you obviously don't know the game very well.
That statement was meant to back up the previous paragraph.
It's not a pride movie because it wasn't created for the sole purpose of furthering the author's reputations.
There. Answered?
Finally a defence
______
A pride movie is a tool-assisted speedrun created for ego or for "showing off" It inexcusably lacks fundamental qualities of a publication-worthy production.
If you watch the AIR or MKII movies they both don't play for speed, but they both show off glitches which an all out speed run wouldn't be able to show.
Trashing everything in site or showing pointless interaction isn't because...
The site is about showing tool-assistance and anyone playing in real time could do that.
I really didn't like the SNES version being used. The reason is because the L+R glitch looks cheap and takes away much of what makes the NES version great. Also they were a few glitches that you missed which made me :'( I felt overall this was a better effort compared to the SMW run but only good enough to recieve a another 'no' vote
Voting yes, it was pretty solid throughout. Although I will say you didn't optimally use the L+R glitch, you need to press L+R, then down and then hold L+R after that. That way you will get much faster aceleration at the start.
