Hoe, just wondering if its worth skipping the blue key car in Lunar Reactor, since I noticed that the main vents lead to the sewage room, and is there any way to blow up the wall next the orange cylinder from the floor above, also is there a video of that shortcut in Dark Side that involves the jet pack because I still can't figure out how to do the shortcut, BTW thx for doicumenting the glitches as there was no way I'd ever have figured out all that stuff myself.

I've watched the movie from the begining and unfortunatley the game desynced at the First Stalfos battle in the FT, although watching it from the provided savestate it desynced where everybody else said.

I don't see how you can say that GENS suck, it the best overall emulator for the Genisis in general.

The one thing I've noticed is that Glover seems to move quicker when he's standing on the ball, also a lot of time seems to be wasted by bouncing the ball up slopes, in that last level would it be of benifit to change the ball into a bowling ball so it sinks to the bottom and then change the bowling ball to something else in order to bring it back to the surface. I'd that current runner does some testing of generic movements to see which produces the best result, obviously you'd want to test it out in a large flat part of the overworld map to give difinitive results.

Personally I don't see how this can be anything other than a concept run, the normal section should mainly be kept to games that start with no SRAM and complete the game in the fastest possible time, clearly this doesn't remotely fit that catagory. I don't see how this is any more different than the AIR hack, this is nothing other than a demonstration.

I decided to comerate my favourite mario game of all time SMB3 with a run. Not to shabby but I certainly could have done a lot better had I managed to preserve the flower in some way and avoid deaths although I tried to put emphasis on not dying in autoscroller levels. looky looky

Hmm, any chance of a AVI file of that?
You don't need an AVI when you can just download the movie file and the rom. I'd only do it if I knew people were going to have playback issues.

I had a little muck around, but unfortunatley I can't continue any further, here's what I've got. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3979/S1GenGen_L1.gmv I did actually experiment quite a lot in Labyrinth 3 but there is an unbelivable amount of possible routes that can be taken through it. So far the best thing to do is to jump onto the platform where the shield is when you're on the slide, glitch into the wall and then onto the slide to do a flying battery style glitch, then with a lot of testing Zip to the end of the boss battle which I've yet to find. I also messed round in star light, personally not a lot will change other than glitching into the wall and falling straight down in order to avoid idle time. The scrap Brain glitch is Crazy since Sonic zips so fast that either A he falls in the pit or the areas ahead aren't loaded so he just falls to his doom.

I remeber playing this game a long time ago, its a shame that the overly long autoscrollers ruined it for me just enough to not watch it for a second time. The nature of autoscrollers simply didn't allow the author to do anything exciting but the other levels outwith them more than made up for it, I like how batman accerates faster than the screen in one level, its almost like watching SMW. I wonder if the sequel would be worth doing. Voting Yes BTW.

Hmm first he claims he has a World record of 1:53 at SDA, then 2:09 heres. Sadly this inconsistcy alone (since even with the extra input it doesn't add up) is enough to make me instantly dismiss you.

OK for those who are interested here's a video. For the people who've already seen it, it may well be worth your while to watch it again.

The emulation is poor (but could probably be tweaked by encoding at a faster rate and then slowing down the AVI or something).
The emulation is actually very accurate, more so than most N64 games as well as other consoles, it does desync slightly although not nearly enough to frustrate me, and it always happens in games where the frame updates are irregular. The game generally slows down in area where hoards of enemies are firing machine gun based weapons at you, the mini battlelords come to mind most, explosions aren't nearly as bad, but as has been stated before people are generally comfusing skipped frames for lag. If you have a quick blast at some N64 shooters, this is common throughout a lot of games, it just since the post 128bit era we've been used to near perfect 60Hz running speeds for all games.

I'm currently doing research on Sonic 2, although I'm not sure what glitches I'll find but L+R allows sonic to zip backwards, although I'm not sure what use that will have any use, although zipping for a short distance backward then rolling and holding L+R seems more effective.. U+D simply make sonic alterate between Up and down, the physics are really screwed up much like Sonic 1 GBA, but it doesn't have the lag and is more than an acceptable game for its time. Running feels quite slow, but running while jumping under ceiling seems very effective. Also many of the corners have very inperfect checks, one some occasions sonic can glitch his whole body into them while jumping past corners

Just want to say that the best video pluggin setting is Jabo 1.6. I get the feeling that some have watched it use gln64 which is complete no no for this game as its very poor at (or cannot) handling sprites. The one thing that has surprised me slightly is that I fully understand why many people are confused as to whats happening, but yet no one has asked any questions relating to what/how/why.

This has an awful lot of no votes. What is the record for %votes being no whilst still being accepted/published?
I'm pretty sure I mentioned it in the thread, but isn't it Phils 2 min SMB run. The River City Ransom one is pretty high as well, but it still seems likley that it'll be published. Looking across the workbench more and more games are getting No/meh voted than ever before, but the technical quality of movies being submitted is significantly higher than the past, conclusion peoples expectations and tastes/standards have risen dramatically from the past. It also should be noted that many people vote no/meh because of dislike of stylistic choices (this does not relate to goals of any movie e.g. takes damage to save time).

This is probally how you'll do the first phase of the trick, although I'm sure you could do it a lot more optimal than this, I'm think maybe doing a Goron Roll and then switching to Link and whipping out a bomb in order to do the endless swords technique. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PBupZfByJA&mode=related&search= I'm also convinced it possible to enter Snowhead without doing that hover in the video you linked to.

How come it wasn't possible to land in the tunnel at the start of race? Seemed fairly interesting. I'm not sure what you could do in Moo Moo Farm, but I think the moles might offer some kind of interesting damage boost.

Are you going to test out the routes afterwards or choose one and stick with it all the way. Cool I'm on post 852 now

How come you don't Deku Spin before jumping into the water he travels about twice as fast and rarely does he need to do that extra high spin at the end in order to make the ledge, apart from that not a lot to fault, I liked how you passed these annoying beatles outside of Woodfall Temple. Now prepare for probally the hardest part in the game as you make you're journey into Snowhead, as far as I remember there is 2 bomb drops outside SnowHead Temple and plenty of Magic jars from snow boulders along the way.

Why is it that I've seen videos, on youtube for example, of people ariving at the second bowser battle WITHOUT bouncing on top of the green circle leading to the warp... just bounce off lava and land inside. Is that slower than the method used in this video?
The reason for landing inside the filter is for a softer bounce.

Personally I think the last movie is the worst starred run on the site, and sadly the movie didn't change my mind. I quite enjoyed reading the text and there was the odd thing that made me say "I didn't expect that". There is too little action and the action itself is too repertive, but I must respect the fact this is a large improvement over the previous run so I'll vote meh. EDIT: I'm happy to see this published, just without the star.

Well from watching, I think most of the improvements came from the bowser stages and most notably the first bowser fight, everywhere else in terms of input was a frame there a couple of frames there, but it does add up.
