I watched Rocky Balboa over the weekend and it was generally good, although mainly becuase of SS's age it was never going to live up to the classic ones and I thought the opposing boxer had a rather poor build when it came to his character. I'd rather have had a guy who was bored of winning and no one to challenge, but unexpectedly wanted to give Rocky one more shot. In order to make money off the fight, and Rocky only abliges becuase he's in desperate need of cash. The outcome and nature of the fight was the most logical and favoured both fighters and fans from each side, I don't see how anyone would like to disaprove of the fight. However, I disproved of the post match stuff since it was way too short and should have had more of a point to it. Edit: Also the computer simulation was indeed correct

I'm not responding directly to the following quote, but this is exactly the reason why I hate this format when it comes to voting for movies since whoever dares vote no or meh to a popular game or series will be instantly flamed. I will give the benifit of the doubt that his vote fits into Zurreco's third option. Anyway seen the previous published run, didn't like it, would have voted no, so I'll refuse to watch this run and vote since I know I'll vote the exact same anyway.

Just wondering why can't we have a sig under our avatars since if I was desperate to know the location and date someone registered I would check there profile. Also would it not be possible to have a players choice or reccomened by viewers section. It could easilly be done if you put movies into a section that have an overall rating of 8.5 or above.

Dammit I voted for the wrong one, I thought the one with the Russian guy was number 5, but I've quickly realised it was number 4.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_o0Wo3D8UzE (elevator) There is a little more height on that one, so bomb hovering to the elevator should be easier http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvjmgP13C84 (Vine Glitch to boss) Found it! I really don't know which is the fastest way though
The elavator is far too high to bomb hover into, and would be quicker doing the FT normally, the vine glitch only works as a child in OoT. EDIT: Here's what happens when you enter the lift early, I was trying to do it in a legit way on Mupen earlier but unfortunately it didn't work for the reason shown in the video, plus it literally needed to be frame perfect to activate the superslide without getting damaged, but amusing none the less. When I get trapped in the elavator I levate to land back on the lift again, but I'm sure it would work with a backflip also. http://files.filefront.com/Project64_2007_01_25_16_5Wavi/;6611307;;/fileinfo.html

You can avoid being crushed by sword jumping at the end, although its probally still better to complete the FT normally with all the hoverboot shortcuts. EDIT: The run desyncs in two aspects 1: Bomb drops don't come from the tektites 2. Link falls off death mountain as he does the final backwalk into the Great Fairy. I can verify this happens from the start as well.

Seemed fine to me, you best move on. BTW, the cage star I did WF can be improved by at least 6 frames, unfortunatley when I tried to edit it in, it caused a desync in Bowser#1

Just want to say that I'm completely screwed at the moment since I don't know where I can pick up a pistol anywhere in the second episode, if Rick or anyone else can tell me then it would be grealty appreaciated.

You were one frame slower in getting to the door at the start compared to me, and I don't beleve that wall kick strategy at the start is the best method for getting in JRB painting room. Although its not fully conclusive there appears to be several timing stroke errors in what you're doing, timing strokes are actually pretty simple you hold A for as short as possible then release it for one and then iterate that process over and over, althogh towards the end you might want to hit A on every other frame in order to get a burst of swimming as you exit the water/collect a star. Also what was one of the big time wasters is that you kept saving after every star causing a 0.25 secs of time loss which is a big deal when you add up every star. Overall from what I've seen, it looks promising, but remember to do constant frame comparisons to make sure you don't lag behind any of the times since its fully expected that you match/beat every comparable star, also any stars from the 16 star run should be directly compared to my current submission.

Here's the basis of how the Minuet Skip works, sorry for my suckyness at the end I was using a keyboard, but basically from what I understand that Acrtye said, he says it only takes about 3-4 bomb hovers to get the right height and then you do a sidehop and clip the cutscene loading boundary and then fall into the void while the cutscene is still going. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=98F9C7146F7637C7

Forest Temple boss door can't be glitched through like that. The only hope is to use that other glitch somehow.
What I've been trying to reinforce is that it should be possible in a TAS to use the acute angle glitch and via the hover boots be able to run around the boundary of the room below and into the boss key room a trick which is impossible on a console since we have no point of referce becuase the room is not loaded.

Sigh? Why sigh? I actually found a good strategy to get the dead hand in 1 cycle and have his barrier come up while he is still out so I can get damage done to me to get killed by a bomb and not save/continue from the beginning of the temple to save a good minute of backtracking :) As of right now, I am at Death Mountain Trail almost about to blow up the boulders to get to the Great Fairy and my time is: 1 Hour and 23 Minutes EDIT: I am ~ 23 minutes ahead of my current run Also, I managed to kill the 2 Red Tektites(I had to get it by the frame) to get 10 bombs! Putting me at 12/12 bombs/chus!!!!
You'll definitley need to have a full supply of bombs before entering the Forest Temple, as there is no bombs or prospects of getting a bombs. You'll need to hover in order to skip the Minuet (although technically it isn't skipped becuase its still learned afterwards) and you'll need to hover in order to skip in order to get to the arrows since you have no silver gauntlets/bracelet. Don't worry since I'm sure there is a small clump of grass in the Lost Woods somewhere, so you can manipulate more bomb drops. Also don't forget that giant plant in the FT that drops 3 nuts when you jump slash giving you a grand total of 15. EDIT: Don't forget to try the boss keyp theory I was suggesting for several months.

Could I get a more full explantation of this please, I'll delay my run for a bit to try it out since its no problem hex editing the rest in. It probally saves about a second.

Episode 1 I did a bit of forward planning for the furture since the second boss has a lot more health than this one, but I'd like to know if there is a pistol I could pick up somwhere in episode withoutn diverting too much time since dum dums are very powerful.

Sorry I must be missing something, what did TSA do that made him such an ass? He's made some great runs, which in turn inspired better runs, and I don't see anything wrong with that. I don't know him personally but don't you think you guys are overreacting just a bit? Anyway, that's all I'm gonna say I don't want to clog up this thread with arguments about TSA. btw, what is the target time now for this TAS?
read the thread I've linked you to from that that page on my friend. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4140&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=200

Don't forget the bottle adventure, I'm still not sure if a specific amount of deku nuts is required for it to work (possible 18), but there is plenty in the FT espeacially since the giant plant drops 3 of them. This is just a direct copy and paste so some of it is probally wrong. 1. Deplete Deku Stick Supply to 0 2. Get fish in bottle 3. Plant Bean in lake hylia 4. Become Adult 5. Go get hoverboots early 6. Beat Forest temple (To get rid of shiek) 7. Ride beanplant to Fisherman's Pond 8. Go Fishing (20 rupees) 9. Equip Hover + cast fishing line (v1.0 only) 10. Move to door w/ line cast 11. Go back towards ToT 12. In hyrule field (Not in lake hylia) Pause and unpause (puts deku stick on B [DON'T PRESS B]) 13. Empty bottled fish and catch it again 14. Do backflip and then press bottle button and then B before you hit the ground. (puts bottle on B) 15. Go to ToT 16. Put fish on c-right and make sure deku nuts aren't equipped (not sure but to be safe). 17. Become child 18. Become Adult (light arrows are now on B) 19. Perform Ganon Early (bomb-boosted hover method since you don't have a sword for swordglitch method)

Here's what I've got so far, although I'm messing about with the boss in real time, it seems circling close doesn't work and I've got dum dums but not a pistol, so that can be saved for next boss providing I can pick up a pistol somewhere without the need to divert also holo Duke is the most useless thing ever, I've though about combining steroids with the mighty but for reasons stated earlier I doubt it'll work.

what kind of hover from the roof?
this one I'm sure this one is quicker since you can prepare the endless sword on the roof and probally hover onto the wall in 3 bombs.

toxic dump I've redone the third level as well I hope you like my creative shortcut. Since the N64 version doesn't have an ingame time I'll have to figure it out, although I could be out by as much as second either way, but I've done frame counts. I'll compare to the PC run note: the PC run was done on the easiest difficulty 1st Stage TAS: 14 PC: 12 (I divert about 3-4 seconds to get a jetpack 2nd Stage TAS: 42 PC: 49 (JetPack saved time here) 3rd Stage TAS: 45 PC: 1:01 4th Stage TAS: 1:01 PC: 46 The reason for being so slow in the fourth level is because the PC version has an exclusive duck jump glitch which saves a vast amount of time possibly +30 seconds.

You can also skip the Deku conversation at the Palace if you whip out a bomb on entering the area and then shield drop and backflip giving you a mid-air superslide and glitching inbetween the two shown here Here is what you do once you get inside http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpIX-KHH7Ck

Voting yes, although a request for future authors who do these genres, please don't make a statement that you made the run as fast as possible while being as entertaining as possible. Since being entertaining as possible will result in a slower movie since you'd have to let enemies come fully on screen and be forced to use more variety which will be evidently slower. I actually enjoyed the 2D platform sections more than main fighting sections. EDIT: I don't see any reason why Game A run should be kept since its generally considered a lot easier and certainly when compared it isn't as fun to watch as the Game B movie, and dammit please someone do a Super Double Dragon run.
