That document really needs to be revised since you can't just "use jetpacks" in level 3+4, since its not available. EDIT: Anyway, I've now found a way to skip getting Vit_X and it was very easy to do. So I'll guess I correct Toxic Dump now.

BUMP!!! I was doing a little work on this game unfortunatley its hard to find the proper resources for this game so I thought I might as well post what I've got, I've done the first three levels, unfortunatley the N64 speed run is incredibly dark and hard to watch that I couldn't figure out what was happening in it. I've gotten Vit_X as a precaution in level 3 incase I can't do what ever trick that its supposovley needed for. If I could skip Vit_X it would save me 25 secs. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3469/DUKE%20NUKEM%20%28USA%29.m64

I'm a little mythed here, how come the bomb + bombchu method wasn't used to clear that gap, and unless it desynced on me you won bombs from BB instead of Bombchu's . Of course you still need to conserve at least one bombchu in order to clear that gap outside Ganon's Castle plus you can collect a chest of 20 bombchus inside his castle.

I watched this and am voting yes. I cant see how it can be made faster (route-wise) and I'm looking forward to more improvement. Also, AKA, you mentioned the termination bug. You can get rid of it by hex editing in the last few frames of input (from wherever it would cut off) As Nitsuja explains here
I've tried all these reccomendations and they keep causing the game to pause unless I extend it for 3 more frames than needed.

I noticed that input animation inbetween levels and I don't see any reason why this can't obselete the old movie, the leaf level seemed noticably improved from last time.

Did you try that superback flip when crossing the ledge in Jabu?

Why does is say 27:98, I improved it by 20 frames the prevous one was 55639 while this one was 55619 meaning 55639/60 = 927.32 : subtract 15 mins 27.32 55619/60 = 926.98 : subtract 15 mins 26.98 Due to the termination bug I had to extend both inputs by 3 frames, so in they would be less if I could make it.

Here's the video http://files.filefront.com/VTS_01_1VOB/;6521729;;/fileinfo.html It also proves that bomerang is possible.

Here's the current route just copy what it says for now it turns out that would head for Woodfall next http://rapidshare.com/files/11434409/MMany_route2.rtf.html Use Petrie's trick for skipping the skullkid scene. EDIT:

AKA, we need bow & arrows in the Pirates' Fortress to shoot down that hive and skip the cutscene about the Zora eggs. (Deku bubbles cannot reach it.) This is why we do Woodfall first, then warp back to Clock Town and then proceed to Great Bay Coast.
That is completely wrong since I've done it several times on a console. Its very difficult though since you need a precise angle though the bars and hope that the bubble hits the cage when it spins through the air, I'll guess I'll make a video to proove it.

Desynced for me at the start of Jabu, you backwalk and after hitting the switch and then get hit by one of the bubbles, I can verifiy this happend form both the savestate used and from the very start, otherwise nice stuff paticularly the hover of Zora with just four bombs. BTW, did you try the super back flip when you crossed the platform.

You can get the chest from central clock town since you can use a Goron pound to get on the market stall roof tops, I'm not sure if 20 bombs in nesscary since you need to buy them twice IIRC they cost 50 each as opposed to bombchus costing 40. I think buying ten bombs is better and then manipulating bomb drops in Termina since you could simply Goron Roll through the grass and get bombs and magic jars. You also want to leave by the same exit as last time since you want to get the Zora Mask next.

That may be the general opinion in the forum, but clearly now that run can be improved by well over a minute possible 2.

It would be cool to show off the passing-through-the-floor glitch when you drop down from the chain!
You can do that when entering the Forest Temple.

the scarecrows are in Lake Hylia, you play eight notes (one note must be different) and then come back as an Adult and play the same tune, then whereever you see Navi turn greeen you play the song and a scarecrow appears, this allows you to hookshot them which is handy becuase there is one on the fishing area platform. The house glitch is a little akward in terms on precision, but basically this is what it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOIIJ5DoN4Q EDIT: BTW, getting the bean then going straight to Lake Hylia may be a good option, since the planting location is so close.

Im going to playback the run for any desynchs during Zoras River.
There is a way round that, there is 3 options 1. Go to Jabu complete, use death warp and then go to Lake Hylia via Hyrule and use owl to get to castle 2. Go straight to Lake Hylia after Zelda conversation, there is plenty of grass there to manipulate bombs. You can go to the scarecrow and learn the scarecrow song and then use the house glitch to get back to Zora's Domain. 3. Don't bother with the bean or the scarecrow, simply bomb hover as an Adult when the time comes to steal the rod. Bombs can be replenished afterwards by blowing up the grass with bombs.

Yeah it synced correctly for me, nice job. I liked the first superslide in Death Mountain. BTW, why couldn't you superslide after Impa, since there is grass at the start of Zora's river so there is a good manipulation opertunity for bomb drops. For the owl skip its probally best to lay a bomb for a ground jump and then toss one to blow the boulders. Wouldn't a deku stick sword swap work when skipping the owl, which might make preparing a ground jump pointless. Here's the general strategy for the river http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4x-VlLn6qM Do this except with backwalking. Acryte has soom good videos of it as well.

I think SMB3 qualifies as a perfect movie you don't spend 80,000 re-records on a short 10 min game for nothing, espeacially when the movies have been obselted many times before.

However, one should try to hex edit the owl. It's either now, or never.
I would hex edit in, but I have no input to work with.

The previous submission never should have been published, mainly for being such a bad game, but since this is a positive improvement the only option to vote is yes, otherwise it would have probally have been a meh.

Guano, have you sorted out that desync at the start of DC, since me and several other reported that, if you want to do the owl skip in HF, then I'd advise that you do it now and I can hex eidt in the rest, but there is a good chance that random dungeon factors might cause a desync. Just to clear it up before anyone posts about why we're getting the bottle, its needed for 2 reasons. 1 for the Bottle adventure since we want it on the B button and 2 becuase its needed to deflect Ganondorfs thunderbolt adn note that the bottle in Lake Hylia can't be used until you show the contents to King Zora (which BTW was confirmed to be his name in Z:TP) . Again for DC the stuff after can be edited in, BTW did you manage to reach Zelda in time.
