I'm glad I got bored and scrapped this some time ago since my improvements were so feeble but I'll watch the run just now.

Clock Tower * Talk to the Happy Mask Salesman. Fast-forward all text with A/B. * Learn the Song of Healing. Use frame advance to play the notes quickly. * Collect the Deku Mask and exit. South Clock Town * Turn right and slash the owl statue with your sword. This creates a warp point for use later.* Head to East Clock Town. East Clock Town * Collect a silver rupee in the chest above the Shooting Gallery. (Wallet: 99; Bank: 99; Total: 198) * Head to the Bomb Shop in West Clock Town. Bomb Shop * Buy a bomb bag with 50 rupees. (Wallet: 49; Bank: 99; Total: 148) (Bombs: 20) West Clock Town * Deposit 49 rupees into the bank. (Wallet: 0; Bank: 148; Total: 148) * Head to North Clock Town through South Clock Town, and exit to Termina Field. Termina Field * Equip bombs (C buttons: Ocarina, Bombs) * Use the infinite sword glitch to get through the ice crystals. (Bombs: 19) (Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGirAddjXCk) * The winding climb up to Mountain Village is difficult to optimize. This may take some time. Mountain Village * Superslide/backwalk to the owl statue near the northern exit and slash it with your sword. * Head to Goron Village via the eastern exit. Superslide/backwalk whenever possible for efficient movement. * Jump over the invisible platforms to the cave containing the Lens of Truth. Skip the owl dialogue. (Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2Bw6XY2XXk) * Collect the Lens of Truth inside the cave. Goron Village * Superslide/backwalk whenever possible back to Mountain Village. * Climb the invisible ladders to the graveyard (preferably without using the Lens to conserve magic.) Goron Graveyard * Equip the Lens of Truth to see Darmani, and play the Song of Healing. (C buttons: Ocarina, Bombs, Lens) * Collect the Goron Mask and equip it. (C buttons: Ocarina, Bombs, Goron Mask) * Play the Song of Time to warp back to South Clock Town. At this point, the run will be about 10% complete.
I have to disagree with the things I put in boldface. For the first one wouldn't it be better to do the Owl statue after getting the silver ruppee, for the second one (and trillionth time) it would be infinitley better to use a navi text to activate the sword glitch, although bombs are still needed for super sliding and to blow up the snow boulders.

That seemed pretty optimal time wise except during the skullkid battle you don't Z target and walk toward him while creating a bubble, since it saves magic and time. Although I think I made the mistake of not spining after letting go of the bubble in order to get closer to the dropped Ocarina. Once you've corrected that I think you should move on since there is a lot of stuff that you should be more worried about over the next hour of play.

Unfortunatley last time the author submitted a TAS I felt my lack of knowledge of the game prevented me from enjoying it, I think this case is even stronger except this time I do have pretty sound knowledge of the game. If you look at the spread of votes across all fighting games, you'll realise that the genre probally has the lowest yes vote rating, which probally means that its exeptionally hard to make a fighting thats fast and entertaining, since the fastest strategy is always. A: Un-entertaining B: Reptitive I'll give my yes vote to this as this is pretty much what I expected as a theoetical limit of the game, and I hope this gets published so maybe alternate characters can get used *COUGH*LINK*COUGH*. Although I really would like to give SSBM a try since the mechanics and AI are greatly more advance and would take many more re-records to do. Also if this gets rejected then it means that the chances of anyone else either A: trying a run of Smash Bros B: getting a run accepted are very low indeed.

I messed around with that glitch and that wall after the the spikes is impassable because I did an optimal jump while zipping from the far left of the stage and below is the same story as well. EDIT: Is it possible to activate the debug mode while doing the level select becuase it doesn't seem to work for me. EDIT_2: Here's my best attempt, I used the speedometer to atain the maximum speed and distance throughout, there is something about that end wall that makes it impossible to bypass. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3054/Labyrinth%201%20Zip.gmv

2) I've heard this flying around too, but somone needs to clarify before I get there again. I don't see how it could be skipped (can you skip the loading point in deku form?). I think mwl already had something to say on the matter.
The navi text is very easy to skip, you need to press "A" on the frame of gaining control to do a spin, but I think its possible to walk a frame before spning either its very easy to do with frame advance/savestates.

No, not really. Use the lizalfos. Too bad its REALLY HARD. and they don't attack fast enough, but who knows, it is a TAS.
I think he's refering to BotW.

When I ran the file from the start it desynced after the owl, you're continually covering every frame with B, <c and then is desyncs like it did before with the wrong angled sidesteps.

Could the superslide be used to quickly skip the Minuet if you fall into the ground as you approach the cutscene boundary. Hmm, bound to be useful but what could the downslope superslide be used for I wonder if it could get you to the bombs in DC much quicker since I know there is a slop at the start. EDIT: I'll try it out in DC EDIT_2: I've tried it and I can't get it to work in DC. EDIT_3: I've just discovered when supersliding that you can let go of Z and just hold R and therefore remove the black borders.

There isn't really any new time savers or relisically findable glitches, although Clock Town won't prepare you properly for some of the upcoming stuff. The game is so maxed out that just about every room and area will be played in a completely unintentional way.

Grandma's way to close to do a spin and when I tested it, it took too long to recover from a spin as opposed to running up to her and talking.

I know its pretty pointless to say this, but wouldn't it be better to use the GBA version because it has faster scrolling text.

I don't get it, I thought the original would just be direct port, since they can't have lost the original source code unless Yuji Naka nicked it before he left, since the orginal source code is needed to trade mark the game. I was was expecting the aniversary mode to be like the Sonic Jam version, same thing except it uses the Sonic 2 engine. Anyway I quite liked Nitsjua's Green Hill 3 strat.

Guano, there is a way to skip the Minuet although it probally takes too long for it to be worth it.

You have to remember that it takes 9 seconds from activating the star sequence to gaining control afterward and then you have to factor in the time it takes to leave the room and gain control after the door.

wait, so am I going to ST? If I can get into the bottom of the well for bombs, then there is no point in the ST, right? I am confused..........sadly.
That was a theory that was being thrown around a while ago, the idea was that you would play the lullaby in the well and make the water sink, then you'd stun the green skull and use the vine glitch on him and get into the bombchu area just before the water properly drains, its hard to say whether this is possible or becuase one way or another its TAS exclusive, if you want to test it out for yourself then you could use a snapshot savestate in the well.

Mukki, can you tell me if you have changed anything in your plugins because I even though I match all of your plugins, Link doesnt move after you have entered your name.
You need to delete the file and reload a movie and create a savestate when the power is switched on.

Yay it ran all the way through for me although you never skipped the Navi text going into the tower, but the rest seems fine and optimal, although I did mention this earlier you can shoot a bubble at the middle of the clock tower in order to get three ruppees, which would give you a quick upgrade to the adult wallet as you'll need to get the chest in ECT. This part of the game is very trival compared to the rest of the game, although I'm not exacly sure what order everything will be done in clock town before we leave, I might try a few things myself, just remember when going into snow mountain activate the sword glitch by using the navi text and not the bomb which mwl said eariler.

I'm confident the FT can be done without a Boss key. Like I said several months ago, use the Forest Temple glitch to get into the elavator room below, but Use the hover boots (and TAS like abilties) to stay on the boundaries of the wall and then skllfully move into the boss key room, I confident that this'll work when the time comes, its simply impossible to do on a console becuase none of the textures are loaded so there is no visulal aid to help when doing this trick. I'd also reccomend just doing ordinary bomb hovers in the FT to get to the Arrows becuase its only required twice, plus bom drops can be manipulated in Lake Hylia.

I personally think the yes votes should be in a completely seperate place from the no/meh votes.

A no vote or meh vote is completely worthless if someone votes anomously and fails to post any form of justification. What the no or meh voter fails to realise that if he/she can justify to a reasonable extent why then there voting power will be increased by 10, but I do probally expect that the person is probally typically a TAS hater.
