I just finished watching Rikki's run and I'm excited by the new strategies that were showing mainly the by the lobby glitch and BoB stars as well as Bowser#1 stuff, but like others have said there is too many sections in the game where the run was obviouly slower and the improvements should have shaved at least 3 seconds and anyway the route I choosed wasn't even the optimal route through the game after FODA had commented on my run I reckon I could obselete the current movie by at least 7 seconds. I've decided to do Bower#1 after BoB, but I felt doing Bowser first would add a more surprising factor but since people know to expect that I'll delay it a bit next time, as going to BoB first might throw people off a bit at the start.

I wouldn't mind hearing an actual tune as it would be a great easter egg. There are many sites that list different tunes to play on an Ocarina like "The Simpsons for example" as it doesn't really have may sharp and flat notes.

My movie is a lot more improvable than 13 frames, if the newer strategies save enough time I'd be prepared to redo.

Thanks I got about 200kbs off BitTorrent which is really exeptional, thanks again. EDIT: LAoF, the first two Bowsers were the only real places in the game where there was idle time, I actually did more than the previous one, but I felt I did enough to not classify it as doing nothing.

Bisqwit, I can't stand I'd rather download it from a central server e.g. FF or Archive.org, since I get like 2kbs for BitTorrent, where as I can get 50-150 on a central server. I agree with SXL, as I thnk the description should definitley be changed, so as to at least give a reference to the improvements that were made.

When it says USD equivalent is that relating to the national average in terms of what it would cost in the USA.

I wonder if FODA will have a go when he's done with the 120 star, although anyone who wants to have a go at it is more than welcome, although I'd fully expect a near perfect run, that goes as far as avoiding un-needed coins, although don't forget I also saved time in Bowser#2 by not having to recover so much health afterwards.

This is probally my most borderline yes I ever made, had this game been 1-2 mins longer I probally would have voted no out of boredom, but its pretty obvious what was unintended in the game, the glitches were just enough to sway it for me. Generally the game was at walking pace, and even although the transformations were probally slower it was probally the best thing to do from a viewers point of view.

Reluctant yes vote, because "glitches suck" is the new fad.

I wouldn't restart over, becuase its only certain text, which is why all speedrunner continously hit B incase of scrolling text.

Yes thats true but its impossible to prevent completion of the game because mario is doing a butt stomp, I'm pretty sure the previous movie did that as well.

The easyist way to scroll through text is to press and hold B on the optimal frame and then hit A on the optimal frame to remove the text, thats what I did for the grandma text.

I couldn't spot much wrong with that. Now onto CC, this is the level I'd hate to do becuase I don't like the smimming physics in this game.

Ah I spotted the improvements in Bowswers castle, although what I didn't get was why in certain levels everything got killed and collected in site, but on the water level everything is avoided, since I thought the purpose of doing it was to get a low score and a low fadeout lag, they probally aren't possible but could it be possible to do Iggy's castle without having to grab the fence at the end and Bowsers castle without the need to wait for the thomps and stakes to rise as well as not losing the cape in the process since I though it was possible to get hit without losing the cape. I quite liked the mushroom juggling concept in the final battle, so its a yes vote from me.

If you could glitch out of certain bonus stage boundaries with a cape and enough momentum to fly then you'd be able to warp to completley different stages.

I've watched it and it ran smoothly all the way, I did some comparisions (note: I'm refering to input frames, so times them by three to figure out the number of frames) Spining after the tunnel is one frame faster. In the old tree section is doesn't make a difference if you drop early and backwalk as opposed to fly a little longer and spiining, The stairs were climbed 10 frames quicker. This does not refer to reaching the door only to getting a colision boost off the railing.

1.45 isn't corerct because the game runs at 20 fps so you'll have to treble the difference. EDIT: Providing yours syncs fine on my emulator, I'll compare certain key area to see whats faster namely, the tunnel, old tree and spiral staircase at the end.

The problem is I can't remember all the names of the specific levels and now that I studied the layouts of the levels using Lunar Magic, I've now realised that some of the stuff I thought might be shortcuts aren't true, espeacially when there is scroll locks to prevent such abuse, but you still might be able to go a long the top of the stage during the moving yellow wall levels and glitch throught the top wall and into the exit pipe. Although my main question is have all the stages been pasted onto a map like Nitsuja did for SK+3, as thats how many key abuses happened.

I could also see potential improvements and shortcuts espeacially ones that might avoid the timed sequeces i.e. moving yellow walls. I think sub 1:20 might be possible.
