Whoa that was visually a lot faster than mine and near flawless as well. There are two things though 1.When you first become a deku and enter the room where you learn to use a deku flower, was spining the second time the best option as opposed to sidestepping again? 2. In the room where the old tree was, you fly for longer than needed and drop and spin into the tunnel, is that faster as compared to what I did. Good job anyway and I hope this game is friendly to you desync wise, I experienced my first one in Stock Pott Inn.

The fact that you use no re-records and therefore no savestates indicated that it almost certainly is not going to desync. I personally think this game should be OK to do. I think like B+K, 100% would probally be the best option to do.

TWINE has the optionality of an expansion pack but its probally automatically on when Mupen is running. It would be a consisderably more difficult game in my opinion since there is a jumping element and bigger areas which mean more distant enemies and often some very dark areas. I have the funny feeling it might desync quite a bit, it would be a big task though to do.

This must be pretty good if you beat my pre-clock town section by 2.5 seconds. EDIT: I just re-checked my movie and the last Tatl check box disappears on frame 33347, so Mukki's either been very generous to me or both of us. This is refering to the line "Go to the shrine near the north gate. You'll find the great fairly in there"

29725 I know its much. Which time can we expect of your run ?
I'd expect a 16 star to take anwhere around 20-30k to do so its not that much. I'm starting Bowser#3 and I'd expect somewhere around 15:4x. I've currently taken about 24k so far.

Voting yes purely out of the need for more N64 action, it was a fairly decent game with some nice acurate movement throughout, although a few complaints are the lack of sound and music and the slight repetiveness of the game i.e. going through all the sections just to do a small break off to get the remote. Apart from the pig boss, all the bosses were a bit seen it all before.

because I done this out of fun. i found the video of Mario 64 from Spezzafer on a Zelda fanpage and i was so amazed about this movie that i had decided to make a video too. The first movie was much slower. Then I made a second movie with the glitches from FODA and the way from Spezzafer and anyhow came this video there out.
But many of the strategy's shown in your run were visually much quicker than his, I've even borrowed a few strategys from your run, the bit I admire most is how well all the bowser stages were executed, for example you did bowser#3 3 seconds quicker overall. Although now its pointless to submit it now since I'm on Bowser 3 now and I'm ahead by a sizable margin. EDIT: Out of interest how many re-records did you take?

He might be refering to SM64.com, but I don't know what methods are used to time stars, plus it finishes timing when the star is collected and not when Mario is in his stance position as I normally would time.

I find that tactic hard to visualise as being faster, but I'll take your word for it, but I don't think it'll save that much time, since that star only takes 10 seconds to get anyway.

It ran fine for me , but before I vote the last boss has not been beaten, the author might want to re-check the uploaded movie file. Did anyone else come across this?

Good Luck, I'll be able to compare WIP's providing yours doesn't desync on my computer, I'm still adament that getting few extra ruppees is worth it so a the Adult wall et can be gained quicker, 3 green ruppees can be got by shooting a bubble at the center of the clock tower. Don't directly compare yours against my AVI since it has significant slowdown in terms of capture. A few tips When diving into a deku flower press "Z" on a certain frame to face any direction you want without the need for any/little turning. Flying forwards will enable you to land five frames eariler but will waste time if you need to backwalk, there is no difference between flying forwards or backwards in terms of speed. Deku backwalking is the fastest for of movement followed by spinning then side stepping although side steping is faster on slopes. I make the mistake before I talk to the mask sales for the first time because I side step insteas of spin to the door. Another annoying thing is that the game is permantley stored when you first create the file so it'll remain when you start the new movie, so you have to delete it again. Don't worry about what the route and tricks are and how to do them, we'll coach all the way to the end in relation to that matter.

I've seen the earlier m64's and all the avi's, I'll watch Tommorow and give my overall impression, although I've been impressed with what I've seen so far and asides more N64 games are needed anyway.

Quick update done Bowser#2 with a 33 frame improvement (although I think I've spotted a way to knock off even more time) and 1.08 secs faster, the end in nearing and yes its faster than the 16:07 as well.

That exact same logic applies to SM64 when you're spining Bowser, its actually faster to do it on a key board once you get the rhythm going.

Just finished watching it, it seemed pretty optimized for a test run, but one general note, maybe you could collect the jiggy and jump into the water when you collect the last jingo. What is the WR for TTC anyway?

I've redone the DDD level and will be uploading a comparison video shortly, and you'll see for yourself how much lag is present in DDD, I've improved it overall by 181 frames, although in reality it was only about 40 frames if I was to ignore the lag. True, and that's why I said to go as slowly as necessary. At least for the first third of the run or so, the replays will be relatively tolerable in terms of length (I hope). At 300% playback speed, a one-hour run goes by in 20 minutes.
It depends how fast you're computer can run the game, I put it on the loweset resolution in the smallest window at 1000% even then its still not a true 1000% speed since the computer is trying to run the game to its maximum capabilty, but I doubt many people have the mentalty to do 30 seconds of stuff and then re-watch the movie again just to check it worked, and then at certain points of the movie you're gonna want to check to see if the movie desynced after performing a certain stunt.

Well I'd estimate that I spent 60% of my time re-watching the movie from the start, because just watching from a previous savestate isn't enough to tell if the movie desynced.

Well if anyone's interested here's my DDD star, its 2 input frames faster than FODA's. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=102DC84705EE1D47 I've included the frames caption at the bottom.

Finished DDD and I'm now on Bowser#2 although the weird thing is that in terms of input I'm 41.67 secs ahead but in terms of frames I'm 37.9 secs ahead. obviously this is through lag which isn't noticable when TASing. I've personally decided to ignore lag issues as that would mean putting the camera in obscure places and destroying the run from a viewers point of view which would be like watching something simalar to Goldeneye.

That's a boundary violation, though...yes, I know this isn't SDA.
Mikwuyama OKed the trick a weeks ago, if it was a boundary violation the you'd fall into the void, there is no empty space being crossed.

The only star strat that would save signififcant time is the cage star, I've tried hex editing with m64 and it was a nightnare since I normally create copies of moive file and then delete it so I know which point to cut out but all the input seems to be stored in a m64 permanently so you can't erase parts and hex edit stuff in, but the game should be good because there is almost no randomess in terms of the setup of the paint worlds.

Guano how much time did the vine glitch save, my personal guess is probally between 12-14 seconds.
