I wouldn't bother with a test run other than just going just getting started right away. You have to remember that the game runs at 20 fps so you have to hold the inputs for three frames until it updates the graphics. I've requested that that all games should update the graphics everytime the frame advane button is pressed and Nitsuja said is should be relativley easy to implement. There really isn't anything to discover, other than maybe getting Deku Link into the clock tower early and being able to store the endless sword technique as a Goron, but both are pretty unlikely. It might be worth doing the beaver races to get the bottlle as the flying glitch could be used to get there quicly, but certainly all the dungeons don't have much else that could be abused.

Are you sure its not possible to do the glitch from ricocheting the vines. Also I think it you did this tactc except facting the oposite way then you may be able to fall down and roll when you land instead of having to jump slash the vines. Anyway glad to see that you're continuing.

laughing gas : check to see if the rom CRC matches exacly. It ran fine for me, I've tried a few brief things and can't get across the bridge, I take it the you'd have to save ly anyway even if the bridge could be crossed. I can't wait until I see some some new abilties and harder levels, if I'm being honest up till this point nothing significant has happened yet.

Quick update, I've finally reached DDD, I improved one frame on the " A-mazing exit star" and three on the "watch for falling boulders, for the MIPS glitches, I improved them by 17 frames overall, so I'm aproximately 38.75 ahead at the moment. Now to see if I can get it to 40.

SM64 + Zelda at the same time would be impossible for so many reasons and both would be so unoptimized it would be nothing less than a joke to watch.

Wouldn't it have been quicker to do a A+B when re-entering TTC.

which door? the one outside under the moat?
Yes I'm not uploading the next WIP, but on SSL I made no improvement on the "A top of the Pyramid star" but I made a 16 frame improvement on the Talon bird star (0.53 secs), I'm pretty sure I nailed the shy guy and the Talon Bird in perfect timing because I after several attempts to get back to the pyramid I barely made it on the upper walkway.

I was messing about on a console last night, and I was wondering about a few things. In Silent Slayer video I nothiced he glitede into a pilar using the lobby glitch and was able tolevatate in the pillar and then cross the void and effectibley go anywhere he wanted. My point is what if Mips could be used to get into a pillar and do a side flip wall jump and into the invisible water might it be possible to swim to the star room and possibly skip DDD. My other theory about skiping DDD is based on one of Fierces TWW video, in which Zelda is used a speech cancel. I was able to get 90% of Mario body through the DDD wall by using ^C cancels, buy I always ended up entering the area, but in might be possible with emu. While messing about in BitRS, I notcied that the lift can be used to store BLJ's, I wonder if is possile to gain enough speed and control to reach the platform before it falls and then fly far enough to hit the lava and go straight into the Bowser#2 battle, I also notciced that it might be quicker to use the land on the left at the top tier to LJ along instead of intentially taking damage when heading for Bowser#2.

I know it too late to be saying this since I've only just watched this seen becuase I wanted to see what all the fuss was, but I'm voting no becuase this is a very slow game with retarded gameplay and I was bored after only a couple of mins, it also could have demonstrated minimal movements to avoid things rather than enlessly circling everything, the stuff was too repetitve, I'm sorry I really find it hard to say anything positive about it.

Is it possible to get the angle and memory display buffer in the bottom right hand corner like the following link. The actual picture is just GS code http://board.acmlm.org/download.php?id=889 EDIT: Up to SSL, now everyone can figure what my estimated time will be. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2674/SUPER%20MARIO%2064%20%28USA%29.m64

The fastest theoetical route would be too somehow glitch open the door in the bottom of the castle and the get through the walls and use the invisible water in order to go straight to Bowser 2, I 'd estimate it would be a 5 min completion, I don't personally see a way to get into the second star door without Mips, but I'm optimisic that maybe one day the DDD level could be skipped.

I've just timed it and I'm roughly 15 seconds ahead after the red coins, although I need to redo as I'm 8 frames slower than Spezzafer, so the projected time would be around. 15:48 - 15:52 EDIT: I guess there is always room for a 70 star run.

Well here's all the current speedrun records of the levels. Althought the one misleading thing is that they stop timing when the the star is collected as opossed to activating the dance animation. http://www.student.cs.uwaterloo.ca/~cbright/sm64/startimescomp.html So I should be round about 42-(17 to 19) = 22-25 seconds quicker.

Here's my WIP, it ends in LLL, becuase I realised it slower to go the SSL first, because of the sharp 180 bend. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2651/SUPER%20MARIO%2064%20%28USA%29.m64 I not as fast as I first thought, I'm 42 seconds ahead of the 16:07 at the moment minus however long it takes to get the BtB star.

The route I'm using is on the previous page. (I think) EDIT: Just want to say that I've done WF, which is the hardest overall paint world to do, I'll upload once I've reached SSL.

I just looked at sm64.com fastest star times, the first star on the slide on CCM takes 26 seconds non-tas, so maybe it could be 25-24 inplace of whomp? which takes like 29-30 Just a thought, maybe im not thinking right...
I'm doing beat the bully, although I should have timed both of FODA's times on the slide and the BtB star, although BtB star should be faster as you don't go through transitional scenes.

Could you elaborate on the ejection algortithm a little more, becuase what I've noticed is that if you hold left, sonic goes into his skidding animation at the speed he would normally skid at if he was at full speed, but the actaul speed that most people notice is when he leaves the wall, the only way to maxize the speed travelled is by hold left while he's stile in the walls, then letting go when he's outside and hold right and a full jump when he's touched the ground, of course there's usually a few more complications to it than that, I take it you're wanting to do Sonic 1 w/spindash, glitching in the marble zones would certainly be useful, if you can manage to glitch into the wall in Marble 1 then you can complete the stage within 18 seconds.
