Im starting a test run on this game. I dont know if i'll go insane before i finish it but anyways, i dont have much of a plan yet except for the first part of the game Basicly just run from every fight till i get Tellah and fight like 4-5 fights to level up rydia in the cave, before the tent scene. I'll get the darkness sword too to kill Octo faster. anyways i dont have a plan for the rest, except the posts already in this thread.. so if u got any time savers / good tricks let me know

This is pretty good, but it seems your making the real deal has first run? Usually people make a test run before they make the one they publish but i guess u did speed run the game before. Just remember to pick up the exact number of things u need ( or try to anyways ). I don't know exactly what you'll need but if you can save time buying 20 clays at once instead of picking them up you should try to do that, you'll save a few minutes in your end game time that way i think, if you dont run out of cash =)

dont know if this was said, but i remember reading you saying the str upgrades were useless because you still did 2 damage to the boss.. im pretty sure the reason is because your getting the upgrades with Will and using the knight for the fight... did you try getting the str upgrades with the knight? useless or slower?

yes but if i remember correctly, one of the rules at this site is that a video must end at the ending, so it wouldnt be published here ( not sure if this is correct btw )

It depends if you can use the right mouse button or not (I think it only works in Win XP). It puts all cards up immediately that are possible, which speeds up especially the endgame. I have no idea if 38 seconds is good, I usually just play Vegas and try to solve it completely (208 $), I don't like the hectic :P I also used to play Minesweeper a lot, until I found a website with some records and a whole Minesweeper community - people who keep playing this game several hours a day for years... :S Anyway, my records are 4 / 37 / 115
yeah im pretty sure 38 seconds is good, considering arc's site has a 50 second video ( which i've never watch but assume its 3 card draw ) and for your minesweeper records, its easy to get 0 or 1 in beginner, when you start and all the mines are already revealed. I'm not really good at that game though, so i dont know if your other times are good =p

I think ive heard of that game before.. and for Terranigma : its because RPG speedruns are very long and you usually have to to 2 runs, test + real one, so it takes a long time and most people wont bother

Well, like I said I'm not sure the cleaner one would be more interesting, but I wouldn't mind there being a run for each... I wonder which one would be faster? FF4 has more stuff to abuse, while the FF2 enemies (and status ailments) are easier to deal with.
only trouble with FF4 : because of site rules, it would have to be played on the japanese version of the game, so the player would need to understand japanese at least a little bit , otherwise it would take a long time of guessing what would be what

Boco's really well-known with this game, so I trust that he'll find THE FASTEST way to finish it. I believe that the low-level one is, myself.

Does the video aims for a level 6/7 or 2/3? Because it looks more like a fast video than a LLG one...
every run on this site / forum are meant to be played as fast as possible

heh i dont really remember that run very well but in most speed runs ( non-assisted ) the main things that waste time are generally playing the levels flawlessly and for megaman i guess hitting the boss at the exact time hes vulnerable again you should play the levels a few times and try to pick up the best places to jump and such and you will most likely save a minute or 2 on your entire run if you can improve that ill try to watch the run again when i get back from vacation and see if theres any huge time wasters..

*edit* back from vacation and was able to download FCEU with blip's patch nice run, the only thing i hate is the fact that you have to level up to reach the next place but thats not your fault anyways i just fast forwarded those parts and the rest was awesome
