Very entertaining run, especially since it's not one of those "combofest" videos that are fun to start and get boring very fast.. no matter how skilled the player is.

It's a pity that after getting the speed booster, there's no way to get enough juice flowing to maximize speed, open the door, and then go super speeding through the lava of health draining annoyance. If there was a way to do so, it'd save a good chunk of time and look damn cool to boot.

We have given the run up. We finished World 3 and a little of the twin bridges which we haven't shown but I'll ask TFB if I can post the smv and edit this.
Awww... that sucks! It was destined to be the feel good hit of the summer! I am hoping that it will be picked up again someday soon.. it was honestly really enjoyable for what it was and I was looking forward to how much more the game could be broken.

I loved it! Way faster then the 100%, but in a non boring way. The fact you had notations popping up was DEFINITELY a bonus! It made things a lot more clear as to what you were doing, and that's an additional bonus for those who are not as familiar with Super Metroid in general, let alone this phenomenal hack.

Maybe we should impose an upper limit on TAS length. If you can't get it under 8 hours, don't even bother. :P
Maybe we should impose an IQ Limit! If you're not smart enough to realize that 8hrs is too long for you to handle watching a quality TAS, then you deserve the suffering you expose yourself to and complaints will be ignored. :)

It's a very polished hack, and apparently the author is still releasing new versions of it on a frequent basis.
It might be awhile before we see a submission for this.
I must admit, this is the FIRST Super Metroid hack I've seen where I actually want to play it! It looks like a natural progression from Super Metroid with a few new tricks to keep old players coming back, a very rich array of secrets to keep people guessing, and most of what I am seeing in this TAS.. you can see the "normal" way of doing it while watching the "But I'm TAS'ing this, so normal doesn't apply!" path.... ie. It looks like a normal player doesn't need to know advance glitchy stuff like other hacks demand.
When this finalizes, I can honestly say I'd be looking forward to a TAS of it on this site. [Until the frame wars and percentile wars begin ^^;;]

Sadly this would be slightly more appealing if it was in English, only as then I'd have some GLIMMER of an idea of wtf happened. It'd still be a blur, but slightly less of. About all I can safely figure is Malor was used and some item spawned in a chest to help... and the typical end of game thing where you get tons of exp.
Mind you, never played Part V before either.. Just I - IV.

I voted Meh. I was honestly very bored watching the movie and had to stop it several times and come back later. I mean I can SEE the luck manipulation in effect and I know how batshit this game can turn on the fly... but definitely not a good game choice imho. There genuinely never came to any point a part where I was entertained... the levels were boring as hell. Even Lolo/Eggerland had one or 2 stinker levels, but more then enough good to ignore them. This? Not so.

Thank you! Your encouragement is always a big motivation. :) As for using Key3 on the sphinx, any item will do (it is only the frame you do it on that matters), and I chose key3 simply because it was the fastest to move to.
So essentially for a console run, it's gonna come down to getting to that point and praying you get the 1 in 6 warp you require. That is actually very reasonable considering what it would've been before discovering the Broom tactic.
I wonder how much more of this game is left to be ripped apart before moving focus to the other 2 gems. :) I mean I doubt I'd ever make a good dissection of Deja Vu again.. but then again these finds here give me hope. :)

I just finished re-TASing this game with the new broom trick - it saved an amazing 142 frames (2.37 sec)! This means that this run is 444f (7.4 sec) faster than the published run. I picked up the broom right before using key 3 in the mirror room. I picked up bottle 2 in the rope room, as before. Item order worked out beautifully, so that was not an issue. Here's the new run:
