Did not find this entertaining and more so confusing as hell. Just don't see the point of hyperglitched Pokémon runs where virtually nothing of the game is there. Bordering on Meh due to technical.. but still a no unfortunately. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Very entertaining run, especially since it's not one of those "combofest" videos that are fun to start and get boring very fast.. no matter how skilled the player is. This was just outright amusing, especially the 3 on 3 Kombat. Definitely getting a yes vote.. especially because you used a Brutality. :) Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

x.x;; I thought poor Rockman was getting raped.. but no.. this is fast redefining the definition of game rape in horrific manner. A pair of spectacles make a spectacle of a spectacular run. x.x;; And to think once upon a time I actually was hoping to improve my own speedrun of this... Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

The only thing I could think is if they Super Short Charge and Water Ball after, but I don't think it would be faster. BTW Kelly, did you get my E-mail earlier? I may have sent 2 by accident though.
No email or PM.. And in regards to the idea... if it seems possible, I definitely would be curious to know if it could save even 2 frames, as in the end, that could make all the difference. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

It's a pity that after getting the speed booster, there's no way to get enough juice flowing to maximize speed, open the door, and then go super speeding through the lava of health draining annoyance. If there was a way to do so, it'd save a good chunk of time and look damn cool to boot. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

We have given the run up. We finished World 3 and a little of the twin bridges which we haven't shown but I'll ask TFB if I can post the smv and edit this.
Awww... that sucks! It was destined to be the feel good hit of the summer! I am hoping that it will be picked up again someday soon.. it was honestly really enjoyable for what it was and I was looking forward to how much more the game could be broken. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I think it's truly sad that the workbench is getting filled up with wastes of time / useless shit like this. Seriously.. it clutters up what is an otherwise usually productive forum center and will make potential newcomers feel that this drivel is the kind of stuff we focus on instead of the true masterpieces we have published. [Or about to be published] I'd like to think that these kind of... jokes.. poor choices... can be left to the OTHER forums or perhaps a new forum dedicated to things like this... so that this forum goes back to what it should be... a workbench / judging grounds. I think it's obvious what I voted... Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I loved it! Way faster then the 100%, but in a non boring way. The fact you had notations popping up was DEFINITELY a bonus! It made things a lot more clear as to what you were doing, and that's an additional bonus for those who are not as familiar with Super Metroid in general, let alone this phenomenal hack. Yes Vote! Actually I am more amazed no one's complained "Why wasn't the Japanese version used as it'd lead to much shorter TXT time and put this under 8 hrs"... But that's not a bad thing that hasn't come up either. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Maybe we should impose an upper limit on TAS length. If you can't get it under 8 hours, don't even bother. :P
Maybe we should impose an IQ Limit! If you're not smart enough to realize that 8hrs is too long for you to handle watching a quality TAS, then you deserve the suffering you expose yourself to and complaints will be ignored. :) I mean never heard this shit when the Desert Bus run was released here. Mind you, I doubt anyone watched it from start to finish without fastforwarding either. ;) Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Meh vote... I mean it was fast and all... but dead boring to be perfectly honest. It lost its amusement value after the 3rd or 4th kill. If I wanted to see carnage, lots of deaths and quick with some good entertainment? I'd watch someone play Exidy's Death Race. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Wow! Now that was surpisingly entertaining and a lot of the dialogue was readable so it made things way more interesting.. without slowing down stuff. Definitely a yes vote! On the other hand, argument over how the Japanese rom should've been used as it would be faster in 3...2...1... Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

It's a very polished hack, and apparently the author is still releasing new versions of it on a frequent basis. It might be awhile before we see a submission for this.
I must admit, this is the FIRST Super Metroid hack I've seen where I actually want to play it! It looks like a natural progression from Super Metroid with a few new tricks to keep old players coming back, a very rich array of secrets to keep people guessing, and most of what I am seeing in this TAS.. you can see the "normal" way of doing it while watching the "But I'm TAS'ing this, so normal doesn't apply!" path.... ie. It looks like a normal player doesn't need to know advance glitchy stuff like other hacks demand. When this finalizes, I can honestly say I'd be looking forward to a TAS of it on this site. Seriously? Of all the games to TAS and/or obsolete.. people are contiuning to TAS this steaming pile of poop? Seriously?! WHY! There are sooooooo many better games that DESERVE a TAS.. ths is NOT one of them. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Sadly this would be slightly more appealing if it was in English, only as then I'd have some GLIMMER of an idea of wtf happened. It'd still be a blur, but slightly less of. About all I can safely figure is Malor was used and some item spawned in a chest to help... and the typical end of game thing where you get tons of exp. Mind you, never played Part V before either.. Just I - IV. Will abstain for now until further information comes forth. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I'm sorry but this was... well... crap. The hack in itself is not fun and looks utterly horrible, much like most hacks. This was run well... but not entertaining enough by a long shot. I'm going to have to simply vote no. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Let's see if I can summarize this. -TAS Completed and popped on forums 1 day before I go on vacation. -Immediately someone votes no faster then it's possible to watch it even at 4x speed. -People whine, bitch and moan it's not a good TAS and should never have been done because it's a JRPG -People whine, bitch and moan about people not having watched the whole run -People whine, bitch and moan about how unfair it is to expect people to watch the whole damn thing if it's not their cup of tea -Arguments over length of the movie So... I think I can make something of note here.. Um.. if length was an option, why did BOF3 get published with far LESS argument then this? And secondly, there's obviously an assload of people who are deeply pissed off at DarkKobold for "wasting" his time doing a TAS of FFVIII when these same people secretly [and not so secretly] wish it was FFVII because there's way more FFVII fans here then FFVIII. Oh.. and someone called some character Emo. Wtf does that make Chrono then? Oi vey Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I voted Meh. I was honestly very bored watching the movie and had to stop it several times and come back later. I mean I can SEE the luck manipulation in effect and I know how batshit this game can turn on the fly... but definitely not a good game choice imho. There genuinely never came to any point a part where I was entertained... the levels were boring as hell. Even Lolo/Eggerland had one or 2 stinker levels, but more then enough good to ignore them. This? Not so. Bad choice, well executed.. = Meh Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Thank you! Your encouragement is always a big motivation. :) As for using Key3 on the sphinx, any item will do (it is only the frame you do it on that matters), and I chose key3 simply because it was the fastest to move to.
So essentially for a console run, it's gonna come down to getting to that point and praying you get the 1 in 6 warp you require. That is actually very reasonable considering what it would've been before discovering the Broom tactic. I wonder how much more of this game is left to be ripped apart before moving focus to the other 2 gems. :) I mean I doubt I'd ever make a good dissection of Deja Vu again.. but then again these finds here give me hope. :) Thanks for taking the time to dissect this in such a comprehensive manner. I just finished re-TASing this game with the new broom trick - it saved an amazing 142 frames (2.37 sec)! This means that this run is 444f (7.4 sec) faster than the published run. I picked up the broom right before using key 3 in the mirror room. I picked up bottle 2 in the rope room, as before. Item order worked out beautifully, so that was not an issue. Here's the new run: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1768869385/shadowgate_randil_zenicreverie_v2.fm2
This is now officially disgusting! I LOVE IT! I never thought this run would ever be improved so much, Let alone 7 freaking seconds! Hurray for cross collaboration! Edit: Was Key 3 Used as the most convienient item in the inventory to get booted to the coffins, or would almost any Non-Sphinx item do so if done on the correct frame? Mr. Kelly R. Flewin
