Wow... this was just a piece of heaven... if I was tripping out on Acid before watching a Metroid like game... Giant Rolling Stone lips, climbing on drool, constant morphing.. and a little dude who humps the wall as hard and fast as he can so he can climb? And it done fast and efficiently? Very entertaining and awesome on the tech. Definitely a keeper.. unless you just dropped acid before watching of course... ^^;; Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Holy crap! I am usually anti-hack.. barring the 2 major ones, SDW and Mario Adventure, but aside from the insane repeating which was required... this was a really incredible hack! I'd definitely like to see a more polished version. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I dunno.. almost voted No because there was no War Mech abuse.... but then I realized.. wait a second, this is pretty damn impressive WITHOUT it... and then it dawned on me how much more pwnage there was. A most excellent improvement, despite that... and the whole robot saves the day with the encounter was made of awesome! A definite Yes vote. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Alternatively, I have uploaded an interim build to http://fceux.com/zip which should fix the problem.. however, the build has a number of other untested changes in it. Hope it works for you!
SWEET! It fixed the problem and everything! I can now watch movies! Thank you so kindly for making this fix! Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I have a similar bug to Phil. Whenever I load a ROM and then select "Replay movie", FCEUX locks up and after a while displays the same error message twice: "FCM File format is no longer supported. Please use Tools > Convert FCM"
I have this exact same problem.. but it won't even load up the movie in the end as it did for Truncated. :( Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

There are, actually. I did some research for tool23 a while back when he did a run of this game (which sadly, was fed to a grue). I found out that these items were necessary: REQUIRED ITEMS - Dynamite (To blow up the brick wall that leads into Toontown) - Detonator (To blow up the brick wall that leads into Toontown) - Spring Shoes (Necessary to leap the pits in the caves to get will pieces) - The Will (Necessary to complete the game) - Baseball (Used to lure Stupid away from his post so you can go in and fight Judge Doom) - Whistle (Used for shortcuts and time-saving) Another one that may possibly be required is the wallet, which may be required if the store has one of these items and it's not really anywhere on the map that's convenient. If all six items can't conveniently spawn (this is lumping together the will pieces as all one item here), and five out of six do (and one's in the store), it wouldn't be that huge of a time waster to pick up the wallet and go to the store. So, now that I'm done being long-winded, yes, Dwedit, there's a lot of useless items. :p
The big thing to do is also watch Tom Votava's INSANE run on SDA. I mean that's nothing short of astounding how he makes this game bow down and call him Daddy. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Hmm... how do I put this... The hack was not impressive to me... not as bad as Air though. The gravity changes weren't bad and kind of cool.... the bouncing along by going on Stars was a nice touch... but aside from that... It was fast.. but the special levels should've been illustrated due to their difficulty... but.. Nah.. Sorry.. this isn't a bad movie.. but the hack isn't entertaining, despite your best efforts to make the movie entertaining despite it. Gotta vote No.. but it's very tightly towards Meh.. Mr. Kelly R. I predicted 10.09 and I was wrong by 0.16 seconds... not too damn bad for a guess. :) And a DAMN fine improvement! I wonder if this will be improved once more yet with a few months bot running... Otherwise? YES ALL THE WAY! And still brings the quote below even more into amusement. ^^ Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

O.O;; DAYUM! I mean I know this game really well! [Hence my guides on Gamefaqs] But even "I" got lost trying to keep up! I did recognize a lot of stuff though and think this was mindboggling! I figured maybe 15 mins or so.. but under 7?! Definite yes vote! [Don't ask why it worked.. I am still figuring that one out] Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

O.O DAYUM! I never though to ignore either snapshot or letter.... and what an improvement! My own speedrun's gonna have to be tweaked now as well as my guide... that's just incredible! I feel like a moron to not have thought about either of those. :( Now to figure out how to calculate how many torch units are used per action in Shadowgate and I will be good to try and improve my own speedrun of it. Very unimpressive hack, to be quite honest. It didn't really captivate me or pique my interest terribly much... mind you, most hacks fall into this same category. Sorry. :( Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Alright.. I must profess.. I am definitely curious to see how far this game can be taken in the hands of a skilled TAS'er, points wise. It's a 4 Minute timer game and goes through modified versions of Star Fox levels. The whole point is to get as many points as possible within the time limit. The designers put a theoretical max at 177k and the current TG record is sitting at 157k. It's more curiousity then anything, but I figured with Frame By Frame boss rapings, it'd be an interesting undertaking and would create an interesting competition amongst everyone. Mr. Kelly R. After watching someone loop this game 3 times.. I can honestly say.... do NOT Tas this. It's not a fun game by any means... both modes are just.. ugh... nothing impressive. Unlike Rad Racer, this put me to sleep... literally. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

"Why the hell is Peach humping the wall?! DAMNIT! The bloody thing desyn.... 8.74 SECONDS?! WHAT THE BLOODY HELL!" And insert more moments like that throughout. Definitely a Yes! I can not WAIT for this to be published. But as well, perhaps there could be an explanation of how those kind of moments happen? [Making the game overflow on certain calculations? Bouncing over the boundary enough to trick it?] And how likely are some of these to be done on a console.. or is it.. well insane luck required? Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I was surprised how well this worked. It's making me wonder what can be completely skipped though... to make it faster and not for speed and points... but depending on what can be left out, it works for me. ^^ Most enjoyable! Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Yup, none but you and Saturn as it looks now. I have known about the glitch for ages though.
Pfft I knew about the glitch in 1993... when I PROGRAMMED IT INTO THE GAME! MUWAHAHAHAHAHA! [Mental Note.. learn to code, create time machine, go back far enough in time to get hired by Nintendo, create odd code for Super Metroid to make glitch happen, get name added to credits, mysteriously vanish and come back to present so boast is truth.] Mr. Kelly R. I loved the run but I have to say this is one of the more horrible hacks I've seen, completely butchering the game and seeming impossible to play without TASing it.
I almost completely agree.... save for as a 1st or 2nd viewing, it's interesting.. after that... it just gets boring because you have to glitch your way through... There is the odd level where it looks POSSIBLE without glitches, and some serious skill... but outside of that... the hack is nothing to write home about beyond that. TAS Doable only hacks... nah... much more entertaining when you can do a game WITHOUT glitches.. needed. [Because then when you see the TAS you REALLY can be blown away... Like Zelda II or Rockman] Mr. Kelly R. Flewin
