At least in the actual arcade version, you can't play forever (although over an hour is possible) as you will eventually run out of customers to pick up since they don't respawn.
Depending on how good you are, 3hrs is about right for getting virtually every passenger. [Well over 200]. And that is factoring in fatigue and muscle pain from constant drifts and dashes. And by God it's entertaining! Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Very disappointing. I am appalled by this! Seriously, it's called WRECKING CREW, but is just a Tetris Attack clone. x.x;; Childhood memories ruined. The TAS on the other hand was awesome... except for that pervert at the end, U Dokun or something... that was just ewww.... Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Not the encode quality... it was the cut scenes missing and transitions that came off as shoddy. The encode you linked on the other hand... now THAT felt much better. So... based on that; O.O;; Wow... I so did not see this coming. This is absolutely... wow. I give it a yes for it being entertaining by far. I also now understand this double rainbow... er... obsoletion convo. I agree. Double agree actually, to double obsoletion. I don't know how often that's ever going to happen... but I agree to run with it. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Could not watch the run in Bizhawk and that cutscene free encode was just... Why spend all that time on a game and put up a shoddy encode. I mean seriously, any value to the run is greatly diminished. It's not like it was some bug that caused that... it was someone who felt the need to cut n' splice the video. [This isn't some torrented tv show where they edit out the commercials... it's like taking a porn movie and anytime there''s anything sexual, it's spliced out, leaving 2 mins of dialogue in a 1h30m movie. [Unless you're into that kinda thing, then my apologies]] I couldn't stand it once it got going... just did not sit right. I will abstain until I can get BizHawk to play nice... Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

My 2 cents. Keep ACE out of TAS branches by making a new branch solely for that. The instant we amalgamate these together and obsolete stuff U, U, D, D, L, R, L, R, B, A, Start, then we're going to have to come to the next big resolution to this. That being, what if later down the road there's another huge debate and it's decided that ACE needs to be its own branch. That's a shitload of extra work that's going to have to be done to fix this. Keeping ti apart for now until things are finally and definitively decided... that makes things easier. But more so, the opinion part since I got sidetracked... It's a nifty concept. It's got some interesting moments of mysticism... but I agree with others before me... it's not as fun as watching a game gone through. 4 min ALTTP... fun for the first few views... technically sound... but then you start realizing how much is skipped and you kinda wanna see how someone would handle that stuff. Trying to explain why the new SMB3 TAS does what it does.. even with the description, new people who aren't savvy will have many questions... and not all of them will be the enlighten me ones.

And this... WTF? Seriously? Why are you reading Gamefaqs.com

You are thinking of pksl_'s Richter mode WR on XBLA, which is (almost) the same game, with less lag and loading times, and obviously isn't TASable right now. If you compare RTA and TAS and ignore lag/loading times, the TAS comes out 15-20 seconds faster.
Ahhh now that would be the answers I required to make the informed choice. Thanks for the info! Yes vote! Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I keep thinking I've heard of a way faster time on this title with Richter recently... unless there's some version speed difference that makes them incomparable... Abstaining for now.. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

http://www.twitch.tv/johnsalter 26 Rollovers, well over 1 Million points. Current WR is 2,009,000 points done on September 25, 1982. The man has already marathoned for 70+hrs once... And in case someone thinks that score is pathetically low when compared to what other titles were capable of [See Nibbler and it tracking over 1 Billion], take a quick look at how the game scores; Tank body : 20 points. Tank turret : 30 points. Helicopter : 100 points. Bonus is advanced by 10 points per tank. By advancing bonus to 50, player scores an extra jeep which then resets bonus to zero. Almost 39hrs in! Well color me amazed. This doesn't look as bad as I feared. I mean there's a few too many enemies at points causing needless slowdown, and the odd graphical glitch... but this looks kinda fun. Some of those star coins are actually well hidden as well. I hope the rest of the game continues to improve along this course. It's ambitious to say the least! Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Oh, and back on topic - Double Dribble for the arcade lets you hit half-court shots if you are down by 10 or more points. If you are up, good luck hitting any shots at all.

The game's mechanics are simply not as TAS-friendly as the NES one. In arcade you simply have to get enough unblocked strikes without getting hit back to enable the knockout blow, while stars are easy to game by TAS techniques in the NES version. Still would be interesting to see feats no mortal could do, though.
It wouldn't be too different though... I mean there's some good recordings that show pretty damn intense fights as it is. It'd be literally a handful of seconds quicker. A few fights and it loops. Then it repeats ad infinitium. There are far more entertaining games out there that propose better challenges. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

TASing the roots of the Punch-Out series will be awesome. I still don't know how it will work, but it couldn't be so hard.
Both are endless titles... I mean a normal circuit and champion circuit at 1 loop each works... but still. The game is a bitch to optimize and would get boring fast. Funny thing is, some times it's better to get a slower time for more points based on technique... and it is a points based game primarily. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

So a few questions.. Why the Japanese BIOS? Almost everything is in English anyway and it doesn't seem to save much time as it is. Why choose "The Shot Maker"? Could you not have made an equally impressive run with a sub-optimal character? I presume the difficulty levels, as configured in the BIOS, do nothing for this title? Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Well color me amazed! I am totally shocked just how fast this run ended up being. A bit weird seeing them suicide all the time... but otherwise very well executed and entertaining... even if you didn't let Simon suicide. Definite Yes vote! Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Dear God... this was absolutely HORRENDOUS! [Game] Not only was this ridiculously boring [The Game], but the music was annoying. I mean I know Nintendo made some stinkers... but this is definitely one huge one for Sega. I did NOT find this entertaining, despite the author's best attempts. There is no vault this deserves to be in. One of the 9 hells of Dante's Inferno though? Most definitely. No Vote, if I wasn't obvious enough. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

This honestly looks... meh. 200 people worked on it? Yeah, I can believe that... considering how craptacular it looks in a lot of places. It's not a BAD hack... but could be a lot better. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

WTF have they done to Smash TV? This is seriously crack-o-riffic! But I ALMOST voted MEH because it didn't get a 1st place score... But the rest of it presented an easy Yes vote. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

This was an absolutely appalingly boring run. No fault of CoolKirby for that fact... the wait times were absolute yawn fests. Even with added movement and frame precise leaps... no. I was barely entertained and it got worse from there. There's a reason this was a console only sequel and not an actual Arcade gem. No vote. x.x; Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Meh... it does prove my theorem of how people had 45 second in game timer runs in the Arcade with him... very fortunate in execution. Boring as all hell though... In an Arcade it'd be kinda different... different environment and crowds and stuff... but yeah... Meh. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin
