Might be worth mentionning this run is 14"63 and that the record is 14"57.

As I mentionned on IRC, I feel like I could also provide a "loading-screens-less" encode. It should be way more entertaining/mind-blowing to watch.

Yes vote here. I especially enjoyed the Bullring bit. Just curious: why do you start some stages by going switchfoot? is this just to change direction?
Oops, forgot to mention this in the submission text. It gives me a little bit more speed which sometime saves 1 frame (not always).

Very nice. I loved your strategies in Skatestreet and The Bullring because I didn't expect them. Was it you who came up with them?
Yes. I got lucky finding the Bullring strategy though.

Did you test if grinding up that slope after 50-50'ing Joey's sculpture was faster than going up normally?
Yes. Slower. I messed with the quarter pipe under it and was able to reach the top but it still ended up to be slower.

I wonder if you can somehow manipulate the songs that play without losing time.
I doubt this is possible... same thing goes for THPS1.

Like in THPS1,By the way, I would like to see a row for totals in your table.
Just added one.
Zeupar wrote:
Did you notice that this TAS is almost as long as your run of the first game? Will you TAS Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 now? :P
I don't think I will. THPS3 is a real mess; everything is scattered all over the place and makes routing very difficult. Plus, the current published run is a play-around and I'd prefer to TAS something that aims for speed. tl;dr probably not.

I'll confirm that the new TAS has been finished for a few days now. I've only given the m64 to a handful of people (mostly close friends and some of the hardcore Zelda speedrunners) and am waiting for the encode of it to be done before I submit it here.
It's been 2 weeks, is the encoding really taking that long?
Yes. Aktan was busy encoding the Kirby64 TAS. He has been working on this OoT encode for a few days now. It will also take quite a bit of time to transfer the YT encode to Swordless so he can upload it on his channel. Just be a little bit more patient. :)

Encoding guide wrote:
If you are encoding for a console intended to be displayed on a TV, you will need to determine the pixel aspect ratio (PAR)[#1] of your target console before proceeding (for handhelds, you can just use 1:1 or not specify this at all). A table of these follows for most standard resolutions. ||Resolution||Ratio|| |256x224|7:6| |256x240|5:4| |320x224|14:15| |320x240|1:1| |x by y|(4/3)*(y/x) (as an integer ratio)|
The AR is the same thing as the PAR (pixel aspect ratio) and is different for each console. If you're encoding NES games, you'll want to use a PAR of 7:6. Example: x264 --sar 7:6

Nice! If you need me to do the compilation video, just PM me on YouTube. ;) Can't wait to see SL own your ass... :O

Like I said in the post, I already done a tutorial with MY way, using Sony Vegas. Here it is if you want to see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUdK12rriN4
As I watch, I'm noticing many issues like not recording from the very first frame, not turning frame skip to "0", not changing the sound to 48khz (or 44 in this case? can't remember), not setting enable null frames and dual-core in lagarith settings (which I'd recommend), rendering at 29,97 FPS instead of 30FPS, etc.
Well, is just a tutorial. People will know that the movie should played from the very first frame. The emulator was going slow due to the Screen Recorder. Thanks for the config of Lagarith. And as far as I know, 29,97 against 30 is clearly no difference. 30 FPS is just an approximation. EDIT: I have already leave the link in the description of how configure the emulator.
I'm sorry, but you are wrong. I've been using Vegas for a while too and lowering the FPS to 29.97 adds some nasty motion blur that can cleary be seen in your MMZ2 encode. I suggest (if you really don't want to switch to AVIsynth + VirtualDUB) that you render your encodes at its native FPS (60).

The MST/all quests TAS is nearly done. SwordlessLink was doing the Ganon fight last time we talked. As for the any%, MrGrunz started to work on it, but he hasn't made a lot from what I've heard.
