It is a quality hack and there is a huge audience following. Finding a way to finish the game with 0 star isn't simple. The BLJs were greatly executed and fast-paced. I was entertained. Thus, I voted "YES".

I personally use Craving Explorer since it allows me to download in .flv, .avi or .mp4.

Every single movie on this site needs an introduction, in my opinion.

Well.. I guess I could do something about Super Mario 64 in French, since it's my main language. I could explain why I'm TASing this specific game and how I learned about TASvideos.

I know you've worked hard on this TAS, judging by all the new glitches you've found. Paired with an amazing soundtrack, this well made TAS deserve a "YES" vote from me.

So I'm guessing we will now add NicoVideo streaming to the site? I mean, 60 FPS looks great and the quality of that encode is really good MisterEpic. Plus, it's useful for Japanese user that want to comment on the TASes and there are no ads on NicoVideo. Edit: here would be the logo for the stream (16x16)

Also, you may want to (privately) share the account info with all encoders - for nicovideo, it may be better to have all videos under one account. I'm not sure why I think that... just a thought.
I think I'll make the official TASVideos NicoVideo account instead. What do you think?
I agree. The Japanese audience is very large when it comes to TASes. Though, on a more encoding-specific note, do you know what's the maximum resolution that nicovideo can handle?

Ok so I'd like to get to the point I'm looking for. Are AviSynth encoders going to use this function in their future YouTube encodes? Of course, it will depend on the game and its flickers. I won't use it on Metal Slug 4 for example.
function TASBlend(clip c)  {
	#Thanks to creaothceann for this function!
        Interleave(Layer(SelectEvery(c, 4, 0), SelectEvery(c, 4, 1), level=int(round((2.0 / 3) * 257))),
        \          Layer(SelectEvery(c, 4, 2), SelectEvery(c, 4, 3), level=int(round((1.0 / 3) * 257))))
}
(In case you missed it, creaothceann, I had to correct some things in it.)
I will probably test/use it in my future encodes, yes. Though it looks really bad in Sonic 2. I'm guessing it's possible to apply this to only some parts of the encode?

Agreed! I love the first one. This should be tested with some Megaman X flicker too.

I've never played Fire Emblem and had no intention to watch this TAS until I saw how clean, beautiful and well explained the submission text is. And I can safely say that this run has some extreme luck manipulation in it. I was very impressed by all the work you've put in it and will surely follow the Fire Emblem thread from now on. Yes vote.

Has the new improvements been implemented? I see Mukki accepted this submission. Should we wait before publishing?

23.5MB (somehow) 800×600 lossless h264 encode of the WIP posted above: http://lex.clansfx.co.uk/media/video/iwbtgtaswip.mp4 Kurikinton, did you make this? I put your name in the "Author" field of the subtitles in that WIP encode. I hope it's correct.
Thanks a bunch for the 800x600 encode, Lex! It looks amazing.

What I can say is that 30 fps is the same as 60 fps (as expected). 24 fps and 20 fps both looks terrible to me, motion-wise. Thus, I'm looking forward some advanced frame-blending techniques!

If the game runs at 60 fps and the video is encoded at eg. 24 fps (which is not divisible by 60), does that mean that frames are being simply dropped at irregular intervals? Doesn't this cause jittering motion?
That's exactly my problem with 24 fps. I'll be encoding the same part of a TAS at 20, 24, 30 and 60 fps, for comparison. I'll probably make a new thread about this.
I'm looking forward to this. I also agree that 24 fps looks bad on YouTube. There must be a better framerate.

So yeah, so here are details about my desync (by the way, I've tried on my Windows 7 x64 PC and my Windows XP x86 VM). After the first reset, Yoshi goes to the 2nd stage in the cave world (or something like that) and then it just jumps around without advancing at all while throwing its tongue into random places, until it jumps into a giant monster, and it dies. I've deleted the EEP before AND/OR during the movie playback, before the first reset.
For the record, it desynchs for me at the exact same place. I'll try the Glide64.ini provided by Grunt too, when I'll get home.

At 13:17 in that 120 star WIP, could they have ground pounded the pillar earlier? Since you have to wait for the water anyway, there is no reason to hit it on the far side.
What are you talking about? They hit it as soon as they could after the long jump ended...
What he meant is: "Would it be possible to reach the pillar sooner by not longjumping. That way you could pound the pillar faster, even if you're not on the far side of it." Answer is: highly doubtful. I will ask the Japanese player, though.

Obviously, this WIP is just the product of many gathered efforts from both the Japanese and non-Japanese players and TASers. Most of the inputs come from Eru, snark and Mickey, though I'm not exactly sure of who did what. So far, the main .m64's rerecord count says "327905", but the real count is truly over a million, since many hexing and side-work were done. On a side-note, the last 3 BoB stars aren't part of the real WIP, I just added them. All stars are WR. The Japanese players are back in WF, doing the 100 coins star (because of the luck manipulation, this star couldn't be hexed). I hope you enjoy! I will leave the video as "unlisted", because I don't want my subscribers to think I've done this or whatever. ;)
