I'm just testing on USA version, many things not same, need find ways more than for improve everything
I don't have any plan. Just do when I feel interest and change to other games when feel bored, still have left few runs not done :D
Replacement? Are you mean if I want improve more than this run then do it ?. Oh yes, I'll save 4 waste frames. Wait me few days, I'll remake stages :D

Hmmm with WinAPI for Autoit, PostMessage 0x100 0x101 worked well with emulators non DirectInput
But with IPC, I don't fully understand NamedPipe. Too hard for me, a jerk :(

Wow I didn't know infinite jumps can do with all type jumps. For jump forward, only dash jump is fastest. Hmmm I don't know where should be use other type jumps for improve speed. Can it jump to sky with not moving?
About camera and hook, I know this but still don't know where should be use this.
About your quick stand up with a "pixel-perfect", yes I did it in US version. It don't need must make crouch, just after hook if can stand on that pixel it'll work. But I tried compare speed with quick stand up near eagle by my eyes, I see it same (not sure)
About hook with L1 and strategy for kill bosses, I'll try calculator frames more than.

Btw, I was tried edit movie for reduce select bombs like ALAKTORN said, but the run after that isn't same original. Then if I want do, I must remake the run, sound like hell :(

Plz remember i just calculator in stage time, for totally i still faster because my improve skip intro/selections (look at start frames on both will know).
About his shorcut ways, I tried all, but it didn't work by JPN version
His run just faster by speed item, i just faster by kill bosses (yep lucky control are special things)
I think don't compare both versions, they didn't same (and i want make US version with improve bosses attack time) :D

Good idea, I didn't think this. But I think jump forward to wall then jump back is faster, didn't test

The final boss I was remake 4th times, at the final time I was saved 2 bombs. Wasted 4 frames for take them, is it big :D

Yes, can't compare. Something have in US version but don't have in JPN version, speed item is one. Pass sub-boss in stage 1 in JPN version don't have in US version
Edit: ok I'll make a compare frames with same stage on both version in tonight. Now I'm working, can't play game

I want show tricks/bugs in other version, some faster way can do
about silent run. I was asked before, but someone said fastest way is best type for do. And I did it :D

have you noitce the freeze time before screen to black?
Here my test at the end in stage 2: (my point at screen got black)
with normal dash: late 4 frames
with jump dash: late 2 frames
with scroll: late 8 frames
Btw, I was tried few stages in Rittai Ninja Katsugeki - Tenchu - Shinobi Gaisen, it's same US version, my tricks/bugs didn't work :(

I think I nearly got it, I can send and receive message with $WM_COPYDATA. But how about with a combo multi keys for send all in a time? Someone can help me that message?

Now I must choice what type run for my TAS:
1/ Fastest time: I'll don't need must have grand master rank (just take it if don't have any problem) because speed item don't help too much. Do anything for fastest time
2/ Highest ranks (or 100%): mean must make silent runs, maybe need make silent kills (because some other spots can't pass it by silent run) for get all grand master rank
3/ Pacifist run: mean no kill, nearly fastest time
I think if make fastest time, the character just need run run and run, it'll look too boring .Example try compare stage 2 on US version and my stage 2 run, my run look cool more than :D

Yes, the speed item like a jerk, run too short. But J version still can faster US version, because it have less stages more than and some other skips I'll show later
On stage 2, if I run like published TAS, I'll meet alot enemies (enemies spawn not same US version, have lot more than), then I'll don't have 2 speed items for stage 3. I tried many ways in today, can't reduce times meet enemies anymore, can't change lucky for reduce enemies
I'm thinking about tag TAS for my TAS: silent run, grand master rank (or 100%), pacifist run. What best for choice? :D
And here my new run on stage 1. I was sacrifice 1 frame when select item for don't meet a enemy before meet boss. If I meet that enemy, I'll lost grand master rank, then I'll don't have a speed item. This item will help me faster a bit and can help pass a cat near the bridge on stage 2. If not pass, that cat will take my grand master rank :(

Hmm I don't know LUA and ØMQ. But it's ok, I can do on AutoIt. I was tried SendMessage with $WM_COMMAND and WM_KEYDOWN but I got failure. Maybe I got wrong at somewhere

- new way with reduced air jumps

but a problem came out. The time for start stage is changed, then lucky changed. A enemy catched me then I don't have grand master rank. The next stage I don't have boost run item
Then I think must do "slower is faster" :D

Ok here my run stage 1 on J official version 1.0. With faster selections, skip sub-boss by J version, I was faster 3146 frames with current run
Hmm I don't know with quick turn or my run + turn when first time standing on roof, what's faster? I'm not good optimize in 3D games :(
