I remember, someone said a few time ago, that the frame rate goes slower when there are many things on screen, so camera angle can make a really difference. And now, for a different subject:

You would just land on the bottom of the level and dance, there would be no point.
I would love to see that. Video please?

Me too, in stage 60, with "fceux-2.1.3-win32" instead. But I can already yes vote as the other 59 stages are surprising and good.

Wait, Dega isn't an accepted emulator. I'm feeling kinda iffy about this.
Quick! Tell the admins, there are 18 unauthorized movies already published on this website! On a serious note, I liked the previous version, and this is improvement, easy yes vote.

There is problems with the website, I can't add the archive.org link, to this movie. Here it is: http://www.archive.org/download/strider-tas-neofix/strider-tas-neofix.mkv

Yes vote. This movie "beats current records", and it's entertaining. Many cutscenes, but it's only 4 minutes long, so all is forgiven. Since there is one Youtube video I didn't want to make an unneeded encode for this, but Flygon told me to make one anyway. So I made one, still not on archive.org as per recent events. http://rapidshare.com/files/384594183/ristar-bonusstages-tas-nfq.mkv

I like this, it really looks like Putt & Putter. So I can only vote yes. I also made an encode, and I didn't put it on archive.org as requested. Here it is: http://rapidshare.com/files/383501003/puttergolf-tas-aqfaq.mkv It is too big to be published, unfortunately the moving sea of the later levels (and of the ending) raises the bitrate a lot. If that's even possible, someone should encode this by reducing the bitrate for the ending since it's not important for it to look good.

Hold on! There seems to be something wrong in the encode. I am not sure if it's a problem with the emulator itself, or the rgb dumper, or the encode, or even my Media Player Classic, so I am just reporting this here, so Ilari and Sgrunt can see and decide what's wrong. The right column of pixels contains the left column of pixels. See sample screenshots from the encode below (clickable thumbnails):

I am really sorry if I caused all this trouble. I was under the impression that archive.org was the host of choice because I saw many other people uploading movies there, and I just went with that. Which is understandable, as there are no ads, no download caps, nothing of the bad things which usually come from Mediafire, Megaupload, and so on. Last time I checked, those hosts were extremely discouraged. That said, I realise that this can't possibly continue, so I'm hereby requesting to have my Movie Editor powers removed, I won't make any other encodes in the future.

In the end I decided to make a new post for clarity. Here is the encode: http://www.archive.org/download/bobbysworld-tas-kyman/bobbysworld-tas-kyman.mkv. Two things to note. 1. I couldn't set the aspect ratio to 4:3, I tried to mux it three times, but it always ended up being 299:224 (while with 4:3 it should be 298.6). I asked Sgrunt and apparently it's an acceptable rounding error. 2. The level artist should be shot for the massive use of red and violet which make the h264 compression suffer a lot. As a result the file is quite big to provide an acceptable quality.

I am confused (quick! someone give me an antidote!), how can you TAS the link between two games? I know how the link works, as many years ago I obtained a complete Pokédex with the first emulator which could emulate the link (Prototype-D), but I don't see how that would be applicable to a TAS. You would need two emulators and two movie files? If you can get this to work I am completely interested into a "151 Pokémon" movie, and I recommend you to pick up that certificate in whatever city it was. Also to note it can't be classified as "100%", since technically 100% is 150 Pokémon, this is 100.6% )

Just watched this... It is fun and entertaining enough to deserve a yes vote. And, as you can expect, an encode from me is on its way. I will edit this post later (much later, probably). Sgrunt, if you're reading this, should I set the Aspect Ratio to be 43 even if the resolution is 256x224? It would look badly wrong if stretched in that way.

Very easy yes vote on this. Skyroads is one of the best games I've ever played, and some levels are extremely hard when played by hand. Using TAS to see them effectively unable to cause harm to the player is ridiculously fun. Good job, Ilari.

Yes vote, it is fun and improvement the previous movie. And encode: http://www.archive.org/download/aboyandhisblob-tas-aglar/aboyandhisblob-tas-aglar.mkv but it's not publishable so someone should make another one. Use this just for voting.

Some of my favorite DOS games of all times Thexder <-- very good candidate for TAS since it is neatly difficult. 100% is recommended. Avoid the Noid <-- I might actually try this if I can get the emulator to run. Skyroads <-- need I say more? And it's freeware! Go download it! I predict frame wars! Test Drive II <-- <3 But on top of all: Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis <-- masterpiece And of course the obvious Doom, Prince of Persia, Tetris, all the classics. Also, a list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:DOS_games Moderators, do you want to include it in the first post? It might help people remember old game names they forgot. Open the flood gates! This day is heaven on earth!

I was watching random Youtube videos, I found these, and I have a question. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVAM79GqAm0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLeh51uwbq8 Do you think you can use this to glitch through the ceiling and arrive at the first floor faster?

http://www.archive.org/details/crayonshinchan4-tas-mugg (probably not usable for publication, but good enough for watching and voting) Yes vote, this looks good enough to me.

Bwahahaha, Stanski beat this run by a full minute and a half single segment. Added to that, he ran down 15:22 IL time. And here I thought nitsuja was god ;(
Now, you can't compare the 15:22 IL because that doesn't keep count of the score tally. The 0:19 of Emerald Hill 1 for example is followed by 50000 points of time bonus. And so on. So the 15:22 isn't comparable. The 18:12 is the one that makes me think instead. I am downloading the SDA as I type this, and I wonder, how much this TAS is unoptimized today, maybe someone should obsolete this with a new TAS? Look at the SDA for ideas: http://speeddemosarchive.com/Sonic2.html

I am now a Movie Editor thanks to Sgrunt. I added a link to archive.org for this movie: http://www.archive.org/download/knsonic3-tas-sprintgod/knsonic3-tas-sprintgod.mkv The new encode is slightly smaller than the old one. You can click here to get a streaming video instead: http://www.archive.org/details/knsonic3-tas-sprintgod (not processed yet at the time of this post so wait). This run looks highly unoptimized by today's standards, but some people (as appears by the Daniel post above) might prefer it because it actually plays most of the game without many glitches.

I can't believe I encoded this. Sure I could encode "King's Bounty" that is 10 seconds, but no, I like to pick hard challenge! So, http://www.archive.org/details/gunstarheroes-tas-jackic.mkv, goes here: http://tasvideos.org/133M.html Since there was no file to begin with, I attempted to match the file size to the newer movie, 218.41 MB, but mine is 220 because the average was not perfect I guess. Sorry if it is big.
