Yeah, I think that's the best choice out of mine that's the least spoilerific; people familiar with the game will realize that something is off, too. Also, I was trying to get that Mushroom Hill screen that nitsuja posted, but I missed on both ends.

I made a bunch of screenshots and put them here: http://nrg.gotdns.com/etc/s3ktas/ Though I apparently took them at double size. Maybe there might be something decent.

Do you see what I mean about the transparency issue now? Unless there's a newer version of snes9x I should be using... Also, why DID you take damage on that spot in level 3? You should be able to inhale them through the wall during the descent with no speed loss. You Won't get crushed if you do it in the right spots.

I vote yes for adding to the concept demo section. Maybe include some kind of note on the standard SMB run that links to it, since people probably don't check out the concept area very often.

The first issue you'll get is the water in level 4. EDIT: I meant transparency issue.

I think having Gooey in some places could still have some use. Mainly at any place where you need to get something in a different direction from the doors, for example the animal rooms. You could use Gooey to get the helper, have Kirby exit through the door the instant after, and swap out on the opposite side of the door. Last I checked though, KDL3 had transparency bugs with our version of Snes9x.

Easiest instructions I can give: Download mIRC from www.mirc.com Once that's done, click this link: irc://irc.freenode.net/nesvideos

I think the different animations come from killing enemies with different attacks.
It's random. I killed the same enemy multiple times with laser by scrolling it offscreen and respawning it, and got different animations. I can recall 4 kinds, which I'll try to explain with text: small stars in an X shape, a ) shape, a spiral out and in, and one which had a big star in the middle and two stars in / direction, followed by \.

It looks like there are a variety of death animations. I wonder if it would be worth trying to manipulate one to avoid lag in some spots? I don't think there would be many instances where it would be worth doing since you'd usually want to kill them as fast as possible, but still something to consider.

Since I couldn't tell if you understood or not: If you hold A with the wingcap while NOT flying, it slows your descent. This works with the basic falling, ground pound, and dive stances. It slows you enough to not take damage upon landing.

Recording lossless avi with background layers is my preferred option. It's how I made Zurreco's old avatar , though that was GBA instead of SNES.

Maybe this would be categorized best in the concept demo area.

Does it fix the transparency in Kirby's Dream Land 3? That's reason enough for me to support it.

Just checking :) The other thing I thought up was getting boosts from enemies by slashing them after jumping past them, since you usually move backwards a bit when you attack stuff. Good for a time saver every so often if it works, but it can wait for a new run.

Here's a question: Are you forced to get the key from the bosses to advance? Because I know that at least for Temple 6, you have a key left over from the midboss that you could use for the final door.

You aren't giving MC Link enough credit. He has the floaty jumps with the Roc's Cape, and he can split into 4 images for MASSIVE DAMAGE. He also has plenty of sword techniques to hold his own.

I know that there are some cases where going super doesn't load the super music, and just plays the normal level song. It'd be nice if you could find out what causes that and make use of it.

Heh. There's actually a Game Genie rom floating around. A TAS of that would be the absolute epitome of pointlessness.

Yeah, this was pretty dull to watch. Also, as far as I could tell, you didn't make any use of the tractor beam, which is another minus. Voting No. At the very least, this probably worked nicely to get used to TAS control, so you can get started on a different game now if you desire.
