As far as 2-3, I won't be able to glitch through the bricks and enter the pipe because the empty spaces are in bad spots and cause me to fall below the pipe and get pushed through it to the right side of the screen, instead of being right over top of it.
I don't see what the issue is here. I'm assuming the trick you have involves being big at least. Then you can just stand and slide along the row just under the top of the pipe. You'd reach the pipe with your head above it and your body inside it. At this point, duck and jump to break the bricks above you, then duck-jump again to get on top of the pipe and go down it.

I'm sure you can avoid all the coins in the ice slide. It's the coins at the chimney before the slide that would be unavoidable.

Double plus yes. All the shortcuts you took are great, and it was amazing to see the yellow supply in the (second?) last level. It might have been possible to do the fish stage faster by hitting the black ones while eating something else at the same time, but since that level is so unforgiving anyway, I'm just not worried about it.

Yes vote from me (now that I figured out which rom version to use). It's pretty lucky that you get the speed-boosting attack as your first ability. Definitely enjoyed watching it.

If you do decide to get the 120 star bonus from Yoshi, I suggest you get the bowser 3 star as your second last, then die on purpose. When you get ejected at the top of the staircase, you can head back down and make the secret star opposite Rainbow Ride your last, then re-enter the stage and fall. This way you'll land in the lake by the cannon.

One thing to note is that when you are approaching the boss fight in WF, you should (from the ground, not air) before you get to the point where the boss battle is triggered in order to start the fight as early as possible, and thus being able to get the star as early as possible.
I think this sentence is missing a verb. It's also really long.

Okay, I need to add this: The final boss in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, playing in Julius mode. I won't say any further since it's a pretty new game so I don't want to spoil it.

Turning to stone with the Tanooki suit then switching to something else will make you invincible but still able to move around; you can also kill pretty much everything with a single jump. The most complicated thing I can think of is starting with a P-Wing, starting to fly, and selecting twice to Tanooki suit. Then while still in the air, turn to stone and select a few more times back to Raccoon Mario. Now you have an invincible Raccoon with endless flight. Another fun thing with the code is having Kuribo's Shoe in any level. (You get it by holding A or B while hitting select.) It's fun to mess around with, such as how you can jump in midair if you walk off and edge.

Yeah, Whomps will give you up to 5 coins for jumping on their backs, and another 5 for breaking them. You also get 5 coins for running around posts 3 times, and in Tiny-Huge Island the giant goombas give you blue coins if you use a butt stomp as opposed to other methods of killing them. I think those are all the more obscure methods of coin gathering.

I'm gonna go ahead and say every final boss in the Sonic series. At the very least, S3&K and the 3 3d games. (that's a lot of 3s) Also, Skies of Arcadia.

My suggestion is to clear your Temporary Internet Files, then right-click on the link and save the .torrent to disk first. You know, just an idea I had...

I'm proud to say all my NES cartridges are in perfect working order. I've melted a few audio cassettes in my day though from leaving them on the car dashboard.

p.s. I got it to work fine in Mupenv7, so I assume it's something to do with using the old emulator revision

This movie reminds me a lot of the old Gradius run on the site. Shows that you don't have to rely on speed alone to make something entertaining. Yes vote from me.

As far as finishing with less than 16 stars goes, I could see it being possible if you find a way to get through the star doors before each Bowser level, since the keys will both be required. It been shown that with the backwards long jump trick, you can turn slightly and start heading in a new direction. (The example I saw went up the infinite stairway, then quickly turned and reached all the way to the clock.) So, if you can find a way to build enough speed on the smaller staircases, a run with less than 16 stars just might be possible.

I don't think you're allowed to open the cannon in that stage until you completed that goal.

This isn't really a feature to bother putting into the emulator. Jasc's Animation Shop (comes with Paint Shop Pro) can load avi files directly, and you can specify a range of frames to load when opening it so you don't shunt the whole video into ram. Then you can just do all the frame decimating and other issues in that and save as a new avi/gif/mng/etc.

Since you dash, the relative speed of the shot is faster, so of COURSE it'll do more damage! It's just common sense!

I don't see a significant enough difference between the 3 to bother with the higher quality scaling. If the saved video was actually going to be larger than 320x240 then i might see a reason, but if you're going to leave it as it is, you might as well stick with no scaling.

I can tell you the new Wood Man theme is originally Coo's theme from Kirby's Dream Land 2 (i think. it's track 9 in the gbs file). It's a bit out of tune with the original though so it annoys me a bit.

Um. Aren't we storing these movies in zips and torrents anyway? Have a series of emulator movies in the zip, and multiple avis in the torrent. The backend wouldn't need to be dramatically changed, and you could list the whole game under one entry. The hardest part would be adding the times.
