Eh, he's turned into other creatures before, I don't see any problem with it. I've heard it controlling similar to Okami, and from what video I've seen of that game, I'm sure I won't be disappointed. In the end, I'll definitely be getting the game, despite the graphics. Also, since it's relevant, I'm posting this image (sorry for stealing josh!)

I think it would be nice if you displayed some creidts as overlay during the actual game clip; just something in the corner like you might see on a music video or game review show. And yeah, I never did really understand the whole obsession with having credit sequences the same length as the main part of the video. It just seems to be an excuse to play another song in entirety.

Having the emeralds would not save time in the least in Sonic 1, since Super Sonic does not exist.

If it's the soft reset(A+B+Select+Start), then I'm pretty sure it can.

Did you not hold the C button to speed up the level overview parts for aesthetic reasons, or did you just not know? Anyway, I'll be glad to see this if you can manage to beat all the developer times. Admittedly, most of them are more or less impossible with normal skills, and you need to do them thousands of times over to memorize the best parts. That aside, I don't really know any good strategies for boosting your speed. This DOES enforce my desire to see a speedrun of the regular game though.

Megaman Network Transmission is an awesome game. At least that was my opinion when I rented it. Classic 2d MM goodness mixed with the EXE series weapon chip system.

There are also people like me who download the avi file and burn loads of movies into a single dvd-disc and viewing it on a dvd-player such as Kiss-DP-1000 who can play avi files (able to play codecs such as: divx 3,4,5 and xvid). If my dvd-player is not able to play this video with it's new codec then I'm forced to encode the file from avi to vcd.
Wha... why to vcd? Why not just re-encode to divx?

I'm glad you made opportune use of your idle time. I'll always approve of dancing to the music. I think it was best done in the disappearing block segment, also it's probably because the soundtrack isn't interrupted by weapon sound effects. Anyway, voted yes.

It's a Knuckles in Sonic 2 run, so you're loading it with the wrong game entirely anyway.

Well, if you include that information in the author notes I'm sure that should do nicely. Like "all re-records were to stage entrances only" or something to that effect.

My favourite part is how he shoots the walls into tetris blocks before destroying them completely.

I guess I should find out the minimum amount of missles required for the queen, and go from there.
The metroid2002 site shows a method where you only need five missiles, though it seems like you might need energy tanks to pull it off. But that should help with your planning.

I'd like to know how some people got this to work! The rom information matches from the video file, but it still seems to load up from a blank battery state. I've been unable to load the sav file even when not running the video, and I've tried both renaming the sav file or choosing import from VBA's menu. I think something relevant is that the game normally creates 8K saves and the one that was uploaded to use is 64K. So I'm at a loss, since I really want to watch this despite any quality issues.

As a general rule, the site hasn't accepted runs that need saveram anyway, but since the game has an internal timer, this might be able to be overlooked. Also, I still can't get it to work even with this save. It seems to be empty.

Desynced right at the start. Hard mode needs saveram to work and it seems yours doesn't come with one.

Are you forgetting something? This is a video. You can SKIP watching the sailing sections. I personally thought it was quite well done. There might be some fight strategies that could be done better (like for the hopping statue things, if they're all stunned in one place, using a spin attack or a horizontal skull hammer attack might make it faster) but other than that the routes look well done. It's also convenient that the most boring part of the game (collecting the triforce shards) is all in one avi, so you can just skip to the end of that file. The parts for getting the TF Charts is still fun enough to watch though. Also kind of a ripoff that the ending cinema give you the green clothes, but oh well.

I may be wrong about this, but it looks like you fall faster when dismounting a floaty thing (for lack of a better name). If this is true then you most likely could use this to your advantage. I know there's a least one point in one of the volcano themed levels where you dismount and then walk into a hole immediately after. Also, maybe you can find some way to manipulate a weapon drop for the first boss fight to speed it up somehow. I'm also unsure if there's more than one weapon upgrade level but if there is there's that aspect too.

Ooh, ooh! Slicks 'n' Slides! Also Liero! and its various clones. I have Lexicross somewhere. Too bad it plays so dang fast on modern computers without modification.
