This error cropped up a month or more ago, so I doubt it'll be any time soon.

Let me guess, you're using an old NVIDIA graphics card? The latest drivers cause issues with youtube among other things. Turning off hardware acceleration in flash will fix your youtube problems, though things will look pixelated if you have to resize the video. Otherwise, revert to an old driver version; I'm using 266.58, for example.

I think the Touhou series could warrant its own thread, but I'm particularly interested in the Castlevania inspired fangame Koumajou Densetsu and its sequel. There's also ElePaperAction, featured in my avatar, which could be interesting.

I had a $20 reward coupon for Best Buy. I couldn't use it for a $19.99 purchase since you have to use the entire value of the coupon for the register to accept it. Had to waste an extra $1.30 on a bag of Skittles.

This is where I make my required suggestion of Shantae, despite how unlikely it would be.

I don't suppose there can be some kind of Lua script that can be used to suppress the boost sound, is there? If only because that gets really annoying.

There is an anime, R.O.D. TV. Itself a spinoff of the earlier released Read or Die, the characters are Paper Masters, a pair of bibliophiles who can manipulate paper to their choosing. My avatar in particular is from a doujin software game, ElePaperAction, which uses these characters in a sidescrolling beat-em-up style. The avatar is from the idle animation, resized to fit the forums. [edit: I think I'll just use the 1:1 scale image as my av now, since I'm seeing more people use slightly larger avatars nowadays] (My signature also happens to be a quote from the aforementioned anime.)

On peaches_ latest speedrun attempt, he found himself missing a lot against Shilf and Guilty. After that he tested what affects your shots missing, and it turns out your own agility matters, not just the opponent's. We need someone to test if the Agi+ from the Evade spell affects hit%, or if it's just dodge%. Dumping the 7 points into wind after Nepty might actually be worth it if it means hitting more often on the harder bosses without needing to Agi grind.

I think a good thing to test would be which debuffs works on bosses. If silence works on any of them that could be a big deal, but even things like restriction are worth checking out.

I think someone did manage to get my info in particular. Someone from China apparently signed into my gmail account 3 days ago, I'm guessing a bot of some kind. This is the email I used on PSN, and had the same password. Fortunately I don't use that email for anything important.

Uh... you didn't accidentally make the movie file read-only or anything like that?

To be honest, I think the speedruns by PEACHES_ (Steve Bates) are more than well enough for this game, that I've stopped worrying about a TAS for it.

The thing with cooldowns is that it's essentially an arbitrary way to prevent you from using a move too often. There are much better ways you could implement this kind of limitation. While it might not be in the same sense as how it works in Warcraft, there are games which involve a charge up time before being able to use them. For example, Megaman's charged shot or Guile's Sonic Boom, where you need to hold a button for a second or two before it's "primed". El Viento takes this a step further in that the longer you charge your shot, the stronger a move you can use. One thing that's comes to mind is the special meter in the majority of fighting games. There are some moves that you aren't able to use unless you have some of this special gauge filled. This also acts as a cooldown of sorts, however, the way these bars fill up is more active, where you have to deal out some standard attacks or block them. In my opinion, this is a good implementation of a method to limit the overuse of powerful abilities.

Here's a big one. User created content. You might start out with editing a texture of your character to add some personality. Moving up to making new levels for your favourite FPS. This will expand to modding, where you might create a new weapon or gameplay mechanic, moving up to some total conversions like the early DOOM wads, or a game like DOTA for Warcraft 3. User created content has exploded so much in the past couple years that now we're seeing games like Little Big Planet 2, where users are given an extreme amount of freedom to create and modify the game, even as far as generating new gameplay styles.

This is strictly a graphics thing, but I'd say normal mapping is pretty goddamn innovative. How do you even come up with that idea? edit: Serious reply: Cheat codes. Both the password type and the button type.
