Also, is it just me, or is the stereo on that video reversed?

The only problem I have with you not using www is that I often try to visit this site by typing "tasvideos [ctrl-shift-enter]", and it bugs me when it doesn't work as I hope.

Oh man, I can't believe I neglected to mention this. NiGHTS: into dreams Let alone the songs being good in their own right, this probably has some of the most technically impressive music, since it would actually change as you did levels repeatedly. There was a system in place called A-Life where there would be little AI denizens in the levels that persisted between playthroughs, and you would affect their "mood" based on different actions done around them. This mood in turn affected the music to be any of 4 variations. So while everyone might hear the original base theme as they first play the game, as you progress it could switch to any of three other variations, differing at different points in the level. You can check out the soundtrack including its major variations here.

Doesn't the newest ZSNES release have mouse recording?

I enjoyed this for the gratuitous use of the grapple beam.

Anything that is missed from the story by using the Japanese version is made up for by the adorable sound clips when she finds the gear pieces. An English version can be saved for a 100% run (there are bonus treasures to collect) I've been anticipating a Drill Dozer run for a while, and this one doesn't disappoint. Yes vote from me!

Perhaps these could be of interest. People who recognize this particular button style know where I'm going with this.

The second most beautiful piece of music was from an anime, but it was the Kirby anime, (Hoshi no Kaabii) so it sort of counts as video game related. (but not really)
Was it from early on in the show or later? Because a lot of the later music is originally from Kirby Air Ride or other games. As for my choices, right now I'm really into the Super Robot Wars Alpha themes, because hell yeah Jam Project!

I don't know about an actual movie category, but how about we start with a tool that counts button presses first? Just seeing some stats for existing videos would be interesting enough.

It's unfortunate that you can't use multiplayer to your advantage. A TAS with 4 player split screen, each one heading to a different boss would be an amazing sight.

I enjoyed SSE a lot more when I just thought of it as a Kirby game.

Scored 34% before looking through the topic. Using more than one tune from a single game feels weak.
The ones listed with the same title aren't actually the same game, since they're from different systems.

For myself, it's probably a combination of programming and owning a Game Genie. Breaking games is fun :)

Well, I suppose it's better to restart now than to waste time optimizing the later levels over again.

Oh yeah, I'll probably be making a game or two in the next few months. I'll try to remember to add secret replay saving tools.

Since you were coming up with comparisons between the NES and GBA versions, here's one that I found a disappointment: The GBA version doesn't have the rotating Butter Building scenes like its NES counterpart.

Admitably, while I don't mind taking damage to save time, the damage during King's tank and Cold Man refight were kinda stupid, IMO. Not enough to change my YES vote, but it was still dumb.
I believe the damage during these parts were to build weapon energy, since there's a shop item that will do this. P.S. Yes vote from me.

You're still missing the one thing to boost this from a "meh" to a "yes", and that's to have at least one level where you act along with the music! How can you make this mistake three times?

Not enough acting to the music, but I suppose I can overlook that. The trick with the doors not locking you in place was cool. I'm pretty sure those screenshots you suggested aren't very representative though.
