I've recently been playing Arena as if there's no other game mode. It's allowed me to get better at Spy, Solider, and especially medic. Also, in a long trade quest, I basically traded a nametag for a team painted G. Killer Exclusive. I have a new medic set up, too S. Medigun/Pan Primary doesn't matter at all since I've become quite good with the pan, but I refuse to use the blutsauger. If I ever join a highlander team or something then I'll probably decide what to use.

Chrono Trigger is an easy winner for me, though Secret of Evermore and Treasure of the Rudras are tied for second.

I have 284 hours spent currently. My favourite map is cp_foundry, I probably have atleast 100 hours just clocked on that map. I usually play any class besides Sniper, unless I'm using the huntsman.

How are you going to do the L. Knuckle and R. Knuckle bosses then? They combined require more shots of Salt Water than can be available at once, and I don't know if you can beat them both in one round without a W-Tank.
Isn't it's attacks done in phases? You could probably just use a charged Mega Arm and then go from there. Either way, it's not that big of a deal.

Taking a look at the game. I'm looking at taking on Venus first, and seeing if that's faster than Neptune. 1443 frames in, so I literally just got started. I'm also seeing that if I can remove the need for the W-Tank.

I'll work on a concept video once I have the ability to get the game (Up to the cafe scene) At first, I thought item management would be the biggest issue, it's not. There's only one enemy that you are required to kill, apparently there's also a nurse and possible one other. With this in mind, all of the ammo needed to beat the game is laid out right on the path. The only big issue with this, is bosses as the shotgun is fairly out of the way compared to say- the rifle. The hammer might also be picked up but I'm too lazy to figure out the numbers. Rifle in the way, fight the Incubator, not Incubus, etc etc. I figure finding a damned glitch other than small time savers would be the biggest issue. =| I guess final time would be around 25-30 minutes.

SWIM IKACHAN! FOR EVERLASTING PEACE! Don't know if it was just the wrong settings or something, but sometimes when loading a state, sometimes the game's visuals freeze. Everything runs normal (not sure about the sound, haven't been in an area to test that), just the visuals.. stop. Edit: An Untitled Story crashes when accepting the name. Other than that, and some sound and multithreading options, it seems to work fine. An option to start recording a video in Frame Advance would be nice....

I got these 2byte values while trying to find the Z axis

they MIGHT be the Z axis but I have my doubts. Can anyone confirm this? -----

After trying numerous times with numerous version and region types, I do believe I was correct. It appears to be PC only, but if someone can prove me wrong I'd be very happy, as it would skip so many boring block puzzles and scavenger hunts.

This'll be fun.. Anyway, help is greatly appreciate, though all I need at this point is the X, Y, and Z positions. I'm not very skilled with RAM Search so the odds of me finding those positions by the end of the month is slim to none. I also still need to know if Save & Reset is a viable option in the run. Not only that, but I also need to know what Warp Gates I should/shouldn't activate.

Those runs use Zero, who can kill anything on screen in about 3 seconds. This would use just X, who doesn't do nearly the same amount of damage, thus making it take much longer.

After some magic, I bring to you WIP1.5! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1057060344/X6D%20WIP1.5.pxm Saved 830 frames. The current route planed is... Yammark < Scaravich < Majinion 2nd < Majinion (Zero) X gains 400 souls from bosses, and 100 from Nightmares, which makes Gate 2 possible. (Thanks rolanmen1)

(2870) I think you can kill that robot by jumping in some distance so then you can climb that section. I actually couldn't find what you're talking about. (4050) You shold've jumped it and get hit from the other side, that would push you to the right instead of the left. I tried that, but I couldn't quite jump far enough over to get knocked back like that. I could try again though. (5350) If you delay your jump a bit, you MAY get pushed by the second drill to on top of the platform instead of below it (not sure about this one). I didn't bother trying with that section, so I took the lazy way out. Also, I get hit by the shots, not the drill I believe. (6230) Don't jump toward doors. For the first door, I can see why, since there's reploids there. Why not the others though?

Intro stage is done. Demonstration only, so it's pretty sloppy. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/521566769/Mega%20Man%20X6%20Nu%20-%20Dashless.pxm Is it worth it?

Is that the PC version or the PS1 version? I recall that glitch being PC only, but I could be mistaken. Edit: I did some testing and, L1 does indeed cancel the 30- some frames to requires to be able to jump again. However, doing this requires pausing, so it's not as fast as just running everywhere. Edit 2: Actually forget that. It's barely faster. over the course of 1000~ frames it saved about 10~ It's annoying to watch too >.>

Is it possible to do this in a TAS? I have my doubts with Memory card issues with emulator replay and what not.

The run shall be done on PSXjin 2.0.2 Anywho, I haven't actually beaten the game yet, so progress shall be slow. Since after the second boss, you're virtually forced into a no damage run for optimal speed(To keep the soul reaver), I've decided to make it consistent and have no damage taken in the entire run. As far as route planning goes, this is obviously NOT going to be a 100% run, so no spells(Glyphs) shall be collected. This also means no Health powerups, even though the one on the way to Kain (1st encounter) is right in the way, it triggers a LONG cutscene. The main route plan is on it's way, so still waiting for that. This is the only RAM address I've bothered to get. As far as I can tell, it's the speed. 000D0398 Standard walking goes at a constant 59-60, and jumping greatly increases this speed, however after landing you have to wait a short while to jump again. This may be avoidable with crouch-cancelling but further testing might be needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this is my first TAS.

Metal Shark Prayer(Player) may not be possible. I was doing the run in real-time and couldn't get through it without dashing. Not only that, but the crusher right before the ladder that leads to the split path might not be possible either, speedster might fix it but I doubt it. Also, Zero is required for Gate 1 for obvious reasons, and X is required for Gate 2. In gate 2, there's one hang-up in the second half, most of you probably know what I'm talking about. To get past it without dashing, abuse of the Magma Blade's physics is required and even then I believe you just barely make it. So instead of an 8-maverick run well just do the "fast as possible" standard. Blaze Heatnix is obviously required, and Infinity Majinion would be needed to make Blaze Heatnix's stage not 30 minutes long. Guard Shell and Yammar Option would be helpful, but I don't know if it's worth it. Edit: I've started the run. Wish me luck!

Soul Reaver is game developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos. It was released in 1999-2000 for the Sony Playstation, Windows, and Sega Dreamcast; it was later ported to the Playstation network in 2009. With that very small bit of history out of the way, Soul Reaver is a rather lengthy game. It contains puzzles and unskipable cutscenes, but removes loading screens. Anywhoo, Discussion topic and what-not.

I noticed something. X6 might actually be doable without dashing. Doing a standard 8-boss run requires Zero, however since there are several places where dashing or double jumping is required. The weirdest, in my own opinion, is the first obstacle of Shield Sheldon's level. There's a spike pit that's barely impassable. What's weirder however is almost all places to get Zero are impossible to get to without dashing. Shield Sheldon requires the dash for that first bed of spikes Commander Yammarks Nightmare Zone requires dashing to get past the pits Rainy Turtaloid requires a dash to get into the nightmare zone after getting hit Blaze Heatnix requires either the blade armour or Zero. If it can be done via walljump, it would require the dash. Metal Shark Prayer requires a dash to get the the area with the nightmare zone, a dash to get it, parts to make the jump, and a weapon to set it all up. Blizzard Wolfang requires a dash to get to the nightmare zone, and Blaze Heatnix's nightmare effect. That leaves Infinity Majinion and Ground Scharvich. I thought it was only Infinity Majinion, but at the top of my head, I can't think of what it would be that requires dashing. Either way, compared to Infinity Majinion, it might as well be impossible. Biggest issue being the boss, since you can't dash, you can't Slash Cancel to victory. This makes X an actual possibility for levels. I'll experiment with this whole idea later, I haven't tested it through the entire game but atleast the first 9 levels should be possible.
