Any chance of getting an encode up? I'm sure there are a few of us who can't run the rom for various reasons.

Nice video. Loved Mars the Bringer of War and SSH there.

I loved this game growing up, but it really doesn't make for a good TAS game. I commend your effort though.

Gaming magazines do not need permission. Fair use is defined as "criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research." Parody falls under criticism. Now this doesn't give them free reign. How much they reproduce and how they use it determines if they are in violation of the law. Screenshots and quotes to illustrate their points is okay. Simply showing all the best parts of a book or movie to show the best parts is not okay.

Well, you seem to forget that not even half of the viewers would bother klicking that stupid ad anyways. Also: Lawsuit? How? Your not making money with their trademarks, your just having an ad enabled on the site. If that would be illegal, many sprite comics who use ads would have had legal problems by now...
Depending on the sprite comic, they could be protected under fair use (parody). TAS would have no such shield.

Looking at it from a legal perspective, I'd say you would be opening yourself for a lawsuit. You would be making money using Sega's trademarks. Plus this would also get you in trouble with the copyrights on that game. Most gaming companies don't mind you posting videos (let's play, TAS, etc.) because it is free advertising for them. However when you start making money off it, then you really make yourself vulnerable. So far TAS's have evaded the eye of the gaming industry's lawyers and I'd hate to see this bring down the lawsuit.

OK, here is an encode, 143 MB, with deldup and chapters. The optimal bitrate turned out to be about the same as the Gunstar Heroes movie. http://www.sendspace.com/file/pwun6q
Cool thanks. I'll have to check it out when I get home.

I voted yes, but ShinyDoofy is right. Way too much pointless jumping.

Wow, I didn't expect this game to get beaten, but then agian the frame war in SMB shoulda told me that no game can be assumed to be perfect.

Anyone else have trouble downloading the lua script? I follow the link in the submission, but I get a timeout error.

I watched about half of it. It looks really well done. Perhaps a bit long, but still very nice. Voting Yes.

Movement seemed a bit quirky and bosses took a while to down, but still a nice run. Voting yes.

It's slower than the published movie. Furthermore you should publish that in English. Two strikes against.

The game seemed a bit dull. You had some nice damage boosting in the beginning but halfway through the game looses steam. Meh.

It was fun watching and trying to guess what kind of combo you would have to clear it at the end.

Nice run. I'm sure manipulation must have been a pain.
