I just realized the obsoletion did already take place. What happened to the any% category?! I really wish this obsoletion could be reverted, because it's just wrong in my opinion. People around the internet, as I've seen, commented on this movie to contain a 'bad ending' and being a bad speedrun (because it skips everything and has the wrong credits BGM)... And we didn't even verify this glitch route on a real gameboy yet. I strongly recommend we seperate the previous movie and this one. Talking about precedents, Chrono Trigger's obsoletion was a bad decision anyway in my opinion. In Earthbound you could at least see half of the game. It still wouldn't have been bad to use seperate categories in both cases, in my opinion and I'm sure others think the same. I might as well read up on the corresponding submission texts, but maybe someone could explain to me why those obsoletions took place? Why the need to keep categories minimal? What comes to my mind now is what should a new any% run look like. It would need to forgo all the glitches related to pausing & quitting*? __________ * By pausing & quitting at the correct time, you can take one item to another level. This can be used with Mushrooms, Fireflowers, Carrots, Starmans, 1-ups, bubbles, checkpoint bells, goal bells, pipes (either direction; using a downward pipe leads to the famous pipe glitch as we know it). The previous movie used the pipe glitch to skip levels and used a checkpoint bell in moon zone 1 to skip some of moon zone 2. Since apparently the pipe glitch is banned for other categories, what about all the other related glitches? Banning the trick with the bubble would kill the other out of bounds glitch (bubble glitch in conjunction with object-loading glitch). It would probably not be used anyway.
I agree with MUGG.

Someone encode this so I can watch this "pointless" run which is the best we're going to get since the 120-star TAS will never be made, ever.

Voting no for inconsistent and pointless goals. I dont understand how banning one glitch and collecting 16 stars instead of 0 really warrants it a new category. However, It is nicely done I gotta admit.
But I'll probably vote yes to this submission geting a spot at gruefood delight. Please, do at least the 70-star run. The only restriction I'd needed is "not passing trough castle doors". please.

First , I should comment how much I loathe the GBA's Mortal Kombat games. Clunky, not as playable as the consoles ones. That being said, I like this movie. Fo starters, it makes the game seems something playable. The glitches are fuuny, as any MK speedrun should be,and the combat are not as obvious as many of fighting TASes. And, hey, it would be the first TAS of a 3D fighting game (except it's not 3D... Oh well). 3D fighting games is kinda of a acquired taste. So, yes.

Yes for the movie, of course. I'm curious about something, Happy Lee. Why do you don't wanna TAS any other game? Your SMB movies are, for lack of better word, perfect, and would be great seeing this "perfection" in other movies. Why don't you give it a try?

Voting no, the movie's just the same as the published run except for some fights being significantly slower realtime, for a lesser gain of in-game time.
This. Voted no.
Exactly. Also, it is less entertaining than the published run.

Just remove them. You're an editor after all. But WarioWare games look boring to be TASed.
...derp... Yes, I should. Most Wario Ware games are, in fact. but this submission was at least tried something different, since tilt commands are less exact.

This movie fells like a mix of the 100% WIP with the glitched one. It's just a glitchy TAS trying to get the same effect possible with the save corruption, only 40 minutes longer. I'm voting meh on this one.

this list means nothing, since it includes a lot of TASable games, like Donkey Kong 3, Gunsmoke,Actraiser 2, Mortal Kombat, Ghostbusters, Mickey Mouse: World of Illusion Rockman Megaworld, Splatter House 2, WarioWare Twisted!, a lot of hacks and a ENTIRE SYSTEM.

no. It's way too slow paced. the character is way slow, almost nothing happens along the way. It's just a set of slow platform action with eventual monsters. But, then again, kinda keeps that Castlevania feel, and a barely good.
