You just need to have Super Sonic to be able to play Doomsday. Thats all I had on my first play through, god knows how many years ago, but I still went to that final zone. I believe Hyper is faster in doomsday thanks to a dash move, though I have not played it with only Super for ages, so he may have the ability also. Plus, on the list of what Hyper can do that Super can not do, add breathe underwater. Also it should be noted that Super Sonic can not be used after visiting the first Special Stage from Mushroom hill onwards. You have to unlock Hyper before you can transform in normal levels again.

http://www.jaytheham.com/zc/oot.php?page=ootba Does it basically mean that upon becoming and Adult you can have any item equipped on to the B button? So for example as soon as you enter the Adult section you can have say, light arrows?

Well if I had it my way you would have a master sword collecting, all ring owning, Ganon beating OoS 2nd Quest/Linked game run, with of course password usage to collect all of the above, but thats just me.

Great run Chef Stef. Just wondering if you had any plan to move on to the Oracle games?

Not sure if I am doing something wrong, but I am having troubles playing that movie. When I try to play it I am told that it "is not in proper VBM format." I agree that Amy is useless, though Knux may have his uses. I was wondering if Sonic+Knuckles would be able to down the last Eggman faster than Cream though. Sonic's up+B in that combo does something of a double jump, which would be able to hit the weakpoint whenever it is vunerable, with out having the drawback of having to wait for Cheese to be able to attack again when using Cream. Only be a small time saver though, and I guess his only other use is knocking down walls that get in your way quickly. Edit: Or you could just use Tails, tails when flying to do the same. Nevermind.

If I may speak off topic, I don't like watching any SDA videos because they are segmented. It's like watching a TV show with commercials. I want a movie.
Then watch the single segment ones.

Nice, I love what you managed to do with Tails.

I would not mind seeing it as a 100% run either. Max points would be a suggestion from that, but I suppose changing the shy guy colours in the levels until you got the black Yoshi would be tedious.

There are only 6 emeralds. Plot wise its why you can turn super and that. Its the purple one thats missing IIRC.

You're acting as if it's necessary to play through the entire game with the same team. The goal will be in-level time primarily and then real-time (EDIT: with the additional restriction that no level will be played twice), in which case it's probably worth it to switch to Sonic+Tails for certain acts. (Route 99 Act 2 looks like a good candidate for this, but I'm still not 100% sure about it.) Also, I'm not sure yet which of the other characters might be worth getting. I used Tails/Sonic because they were faster at getting through the level; out-of-level time is only a secondary concern. Using SRAM to have the characters already unlocked might be something to consider, though.

Well I chose not jump so I would have boost mode for the rest of the level. Tested it though, and it was quicker to jump. Pity it was only by 20 milisecomds, but every little counts.

I decided to have a look at this, and have just attempted the first level. Its not great mind, this is the first time I have ever even used a emulator, let alone made a TAS. I managed a time of 38.57 seconds using Sonic and Tails, which compares to a top time of 39.22 at TSC. Not a great improvement as you can see, so I appreciate any advice anyone had to offer. I am guessing the first problem would be a small rerecord count. That brings me on to my second problem however, and I guess there are better places ask this, but whilst Im here, how do you post WIPs?

Is Bowsers castle going to be completed twice then, just so it has a definite end point?

This may be a silly sugestion, as I do not know the game that well. However could you not instead of leveling up for half an hour, which would be dull to watch, do some other side quests? Getting your characters back for example, or killing those optional, dragons was it? It would take more time I presume, but this run has sacrificed speed for entertainment before. Just a thought.

http://www.soniccenter.org/videos/sonic_3d_blast That should help. Videos from all the levels done by SprintGod, from The Sonic Center. They are not all, the fast as they can possibly be because, as you can see, 5 of the first 8 times have been beaten (by Sprint himself in most cases actually). They can help in basic route planning though. Just to check, I presume this will be a non emerald run? Good luck, looking forward to seeing it.

Yeah why hasn't he been turned to mush by now?
I remember seeing a few years ago someone had written quite a long post explaining, In his opinion, how Sonic could do what he does. I remember something like, "he makes his skin persectly elastic, in order for any small particles that will undouptebly hit him whilst he runs at supersonic speeds bounce off him instead of ripping him in two." I also remember it probably would have taken a good 10 minutes to read all the way through. I did not. Anyway obviously great movie, and reminds me why I am a Sonic fan.

*off-topic* I would looove if Ninten-Dan, mike89 (Paused?) and other members of the sonic community would consider do some TASes for any Sonic runs (of course, preferably for Sega).
If your saying what I think your saying... No Im not mike89, though I really do not mind be mistaken for him. My only alt is P1 Pause, and thats the name I have on Sonic Center, though I have not really played there recently at all. I would love to have the skills to do a TAS but 2d Sonics are not my really my strong point.

I did not get a desynch, although I was using a hacked rom. I agree about skipping the opening cutscene and the messing around on the title screen. Leaving in level openings are fine in my opinion, though I may change my mind if you do go through with playing through the game 4 times. There is only so many times you can watch the checking of the ships at the start before you go crazy.
