Wow! Thank you. It is indeed a very good game. Certainly a hidden gem.

There is a high chance that it will never be finished. The desync issues loom over me so I get completely depressed. I had suffered from a horrible depression after finishing that one stage, and it lasted the whole rest of the day. I don't want to get into that kind of depression again. I'm not at the point where I'd let someone continue the movie though. There is a slight chance that it will someday get finished. I finished my Lady Sia run the other night though! It's in the workbench now. It's a fun game, and it doesn't desync.

Wow! a new version! Will this solve some of my desync problems? Umm.. Can you tell me which specific things to download? there is a lot of stuff there, and I'm not sure what I need. Also, would I have to redo the whole run? or can I continue with the file I have. Because there is no way I'm redoing the whole thing. I also see the term "beta" in there. I think I might wait until the bugs are worked out.

Wow. It's been quite a while since I've been here. Bet people forgot about this. Well it's been like, 4 months since I worked on this. Needed a break ya know? So yeah, it's not much, but just to let you know I haven't totally given up on this yet, here is Sand Canyon Stage 2. Remember, Dream Land 3 needs to be run on Snesx9 v 1. 51 due to transparency issues with other versions. There is a save state file that starts near the end of Sand Canyon Stage 1. Sav file http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1514320545/Copy%20%2816%29%20of%20Kirby%27s%20Dream%20Land%20thh%20%28U%29.smv Save state file http://rapidshare.com/files/94941519/Kirby_s_Dream_Land_3__U_.008.html I wonder if anybody even cares about this project anymore? Or if they even knew in the first place? Or if they even Remember it ever existed? Oh well. The desync problems really effect my performance though. Since I usually have to do either the last room of a stage, or the first room of a stage a second time, I tend to gain some frames. So yeah. Might work on this some more before I quit for another month :P

I really hate to do this, but I vote no. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan. Kirby & the Amazing Mirror was great, and it's nice to know I'm not the only one who played that smurfs game, but this run just didn't reach out to me. *If that makes any sense* My biggest reason was that for most of the movie I was thinking, "that could have been faster" or "wouldn't it have made more sense to..." or "is that really faster?" so that's one reason I vote no. Too much that looked questionable that made me enjoy it less. My second reason was that there was too much Wheel ability. Granted, if you want to go fast, not much can be done about this. Though there were certain points in the movie where he could have gotten High Jump, that I think would have been more strategic to get, and I think that the way he was using wheel sometimes may have actually been slower. I might have to test some of this stuff out myself to be sure. So even though this run through the game wasn't really great, I think it could be a great run with some (several) improvements. I might even take the time to test some theories of mine.

a ha ha. That's where you are very wrong. The NES version is way better if you've played both of them. Remakes are always worse than the original. Sure, the graphic may be better, but that's hardly any reason for it to be better. Egg catcher and crane game were way better than the new mini games, Ball ability lost all of it's original good use due to the new mechanics, the attacks are way weaker, the music doesn't have the same charm that the new version has, Dedede is super ugly in this version, Backdrop's new mechanics suck compared to the old ones, stone and needle have become easier to use which makes the game easier, (which sucks) Fire and ice take extra long to shoot, in butter buildings the got rid of the spinny castle for the parts where you just stand around and wait for the clouds to leave. (also left out of the FAQ in the first post) All bosses and mini bosses move slower, Phan Phan is way easier than Rolling Turtle. The list goes on and on. I personally think that Nightmare in Dream Land is unnecessary to run. The NES version is way better. (though it does have a lot more lag) Nightmare in Dream Land is just an easier, dumbed down version of Adventure, and while trying to improve things like the music and graphics, they made them worse. I think the only thing that would make sense to run in this game is Meta Knightmare. It's unfortunate that they are porting Kirby Super Star to the DS, since it's also gonna be ruined in remaking. God only knows how dumbed down the Great Cave offensive and Gourmet Race will be.

I think I would only watch it if it was 100% I've seemed to notice that whenever someone suggests you do a 100%, you turn it down. I fail to see how 100% would not be good. And keeping Fire Ball the whole time in a any% run would be super boring. (I always call it the original name of Fire Ball since it makes more sense than burning) I personally liked the KSS that kept Wheelie Rider the whole time. One thing I noticed that is missing in the faq in the first post is that attacks are a lot weaker than in Kirby's Adventure. So for example, Throw isn't anywhere near as effective as in Kirby's Adventure. This is just one example.

Infinity exists in your head. Maybe not you personally. Even 0, 1, 2, -1, 1/2, sqrt(2), sqrt(-1), are all entities of our imagination.
Woah. This is like, totally deep dude.

One I'd like to suggest for "Lucky TAS" is... [766] NES Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (USA PRG1) by adelikat in 17:50.0 (fcm, avi) I've had this game, and played it for several years. And guess what? I STILL have not beat it. I was frustrated to see knockouts instantly, and from what I read on the authour's comments, it took a hell of a lot of Luck manipulation, and I'm not surprised either. Considering I've been trying to beat it (on and off) for 2 YEARS!, I wouldn't be surprised at how much work was involved in this. Therefore, I believe this should be a candidate for "Lucky TAS" For Funny TAS, I suggest... NES "2-player" Chip 'n Dale - Rescue Rangers (USA) by dragonxyk in 09:29.22 (fcm, avi) This run cracked me up the whole way through. All of the end of level mini game scenes cracked me up, specifically the one where Chip & Dale throw the boxes at each other and keep catching them, until they finally both get hit by the boxes at the same time. The poses when the screen freezes at the end of a boss were all funny too. Another thing I found hilarious was how casually dragoxyk killed Chip and Dale, and the way they look so happy when they purposely jump down a pit and kill themselves. Another thing I found funny was how horribly he abused the balloons, often in funny ways, specifically in the level where you have to climb up a long vertical screen, in which dragonxyk killed Chip and Dale several times to save time.

There's already two LttP runs though. Plus if you don't take damage, you can't use any bomb abuse. (Has anyone noticed that bombs are only in Zelda games to be abused in some way?) But If I was bored enough, I might watch it. I think that there are much better games that no damage would be better for though. (can't think of any off the top of my head though) If you're willing to make one, go for it. Incidentally, I thought the Golden eye run was one of the best runs I've seen lately. Lately.

Sigh, come on. This part of the forum finally opens up a bit, and people start squabbling? Can't people just learn to keep their "witty" comments to themselves? Although let's face it, if it wasn't for the "blog" comment, some other argument would have popped up anyways about who did or didn't deserve to win a title that's only for bragging and cheap self-satisfaction.

Well, anyhoo. Is there a category for like, best newbie of the year? Sort of like, for the people who submitted their very first movie or something. That would be a neat category, but seeing as it would be tricky to look up all the first timers, it seems unlikely. Also, it's true that it isn't quite the end of the year yet. I'm actually nearly finished my Lady Sia run, so I might make it in time to at least submit it. Though I also have a feeling I probably won't finish quite in time. I'm not gonna rush though. Don't rush your TAS right? Also, even if I were to finish it in time, it would be unlikely that a voted decision would be made so quickly. I'll be interested to see the results of this. Do you get like, a trophy for being #1 in a category? XD

Here's where you go for smash bros brawl info http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/index.html Sorry if some/all of this is old news to some, but it looks like the smash thread is a bit underdevelouped Mentionable assists trophies Little Mac (I know lots of people wanted him) Knuckle Joe (Kirby Super Star) Stafy Waluigi Hammer Bro. Andross (the SNES star fox. the only cool andross) Excite Bike Lakutu (I don't know how to spell that) Lyn (Fire emblem) Jill From Drill Dozer. Though she is not listed on the site, a video of the game clearly shows her there. http://media.wii.ign.com/media/748/748545/vid_2158968.html And you may think you see Luigi there, but that is Mario in a colour swap Sonic is playable. Super Sonic is his Final Smash Diddy Kong is playable King Dedede is playable One of his special moves is the Waddle Dee toss, which makes him toss Waddle dees. Sometimes Waddle Doos, and Sometimes Gordos (the spikey black ball guys) Final smash is "Waddle Dee Army" Pokemon Trainer is playable. Pokemon Trainer fights by Rotating between three Pokemon. Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard. one of those three. You can switch Pokemon during the fight too. His final smash makes all three pokemon come out, and they shoot their super attacks all together. Squirtle's Hydro Pump, Ivysaur's Solar Beam, and Charizard's Fire Blast. A message screen at the bottom pops up saying "It's Super Effective!" Number 4 for most voted character was Geno from Super Mario RPG. Seeing as how the top three most voted have become playable, (Sonic, Diddy Kong, and King Dedede) it is highly likely that Geno will be used as a playable character. If this becomes a reality, you can be sure I'll be dancing around like a lunatic in happiness for several days. It is also highly likely that Marx (the final boss from Kirby Super Star), will be a boss in the Subspace Emissary. Though the amount of Kirby stuff is getting to be quite large. let's recap on Kirby stuff Kirby MetaKnight King Dedede Knuckle Joe Waddle Dee Waddle Doo Gordo Combo Cannon: For those who don't remember, Combo Cannon is the Cannon on the Halberd in Kirby Super Star. It is also on the Halberd in the Halberd battle field. BattleShip Halberd Maximum Tomato Warp Star (Quite Possibly) the Star Rod, seeing as it was in the last two smash games. And even the Spicy Curry from Kirby's Dream Land. You may also want to check out this awesome montage http://media.wii.ign.com/media/748/748545/vid_2158968.html

*edit* I thought I recorded it on version 20, but I guess it was on 19.3 Heh. My mistake. Just in case you're wondering, the game is Kirby's Block Ball.

yes, but I guess I should have been more specific. Should I use Version 20, or 19.3 Another question, does the rom have to be .sgb? Cause the only rom of the one I'm looking for with .sgb is a dead torrent.

What is the best way to record a run with the super Gameboy? I'm thinking of a run that needs it, so I'd like to know the most stable way to record it.

I find this concept to be a little strange, but there is a slight part I agree with. Though it's not about how glitches are evil and kill children. What I find annoying is when a glitch skips over a part of a game I was really looking forward to seeing. When I say that, I mean I was looking forward to seeing it done fast. That's really the only annoying thing I can think about glitches. Though I must say it can be frustrating to see something really hard get done by walking through a wall or something, but I laugh afterwords. That's part of what makes glitches fun. Are you telling me you never did the missingno glitch? (Of course that's only if you played Pokemon) If you ever did that particular glitch, you don't have any argument since that is pretty much the cheapest glitch you can pull off if a game.

In most other forums I've been to, goodbye threads aren't allowed. In fact, there was one forum I went to in which if someone made a good bye thread, one in which the user said he/she is not coming back, the administrators would ban that user so they really couldn't come back. This was done because the administrators loathed good bye threads, and loathed it even more when the user came back two days later. I had been at that forum before this rule was enforced, and I for one, welcomed that rule. It was made due to the huge amount of good bye threads flooding up the off topic forum, only for the person to come back a week later. If it was a goodbye thread for a vacation, they would just instantly lock the thread. I don't mind good bye threads for people who are leaving the site forever, if they actually don't come back. Once that person is gone, the thread becomes totally off topic and random, and sometimes results in becoming a great thread. It's when they instantly come back that bugs me. This case is okay since it was just a vacation good bye. Those are okay for some reason I'm not quite sure of.

I'm not sure...... it might be worth looking into. Though I suspect that with all of the extra lag, and all of the extra waiting time at the end of the level, it would all balance out. None the less, I shall look into it. *darn it, darn it, darn it.* *EDIT* Fortunately (at least for me) even if you get all of the meat, you have to wait for time to run out. So it'd be illogical to get them all. (illogical is the nice way of saying pointless. It's a word that should be used in these situations since it's a clever disguise) But I may still end up redoing this run someday. As I look back on it, I see that the daffy stage is really messy looking swimming wise. Though it's just as fast, it sort of bugs me a bit. Too bad the video quality of the avi is so bad. It's impossible to see what's going on in Tweety.
