I have a question about 1-2. When you're on the flying carpet, would it be faster to move up and right between each jump rather than just right? Then you could jump off to reach the upper platform sooner. Would the flying enemies hit you if you tried to do this?
Well, you don't move as quickly if I rememeber correctly. Btw, I think I will do my own version.

No one should worry that Sleepz won't be credited. Sure he will. I never said that all tricks in my run was dicovered by me. When I started creating this run, I didn't thought this discussion to happen.

I can easily redo the whole first 20 seconds to look much more different. It won't be that hard. The video won't be faster nor more entertaining.

36 frames in a 3 hour movie is by far not the same as the 8 minute movie.

I don't undertsand your point Sleepz. What's wrong someone optimizes a run? Yooohoo wake up. IT IS NOT YOUR GAME. There's no stealing here. There's no one that will stop anyone to beat any runs here. You have no rights to claim that or anyone else. So stop this scheme RIGHT NOW.

Jealous? Now I wish I could withdraw my yes vote... I voted yes in order for sleepz's run would still be online.
If telling the thruth makes you ANGERy then I will help you by voting no. Well, maybe envious is more appropriate.

The situation here, it is not a carbon copy. So the situation is different.

Doesn't anybody loves the sound when Birdo spits fireball at the end of 7-1? And Toad throws a key but in fact didn't throw it? Or when Toad enter the mouth with the throwing position. I thought it is style.

I could remove the wobbling before the final boss if it would help being less annoying. The final boss is easy and not long to do.

Maybe you haven’t been reading my posts hopper, but I’ve stated over and over again that my problem with the submission is that it is an exact copy of mine and adds nothing new.
Can you explain me how is it 36 frames faster if it is a carbon copy?

You’re the one who’s making a big deal about the frames. Like you just said, “All I ever noticed was that someone found a way to improve a nearly flawless run by 36 frames.”
Imo, a nearly flawless run can't be beaten with more than 10 frames. And I don't claim that my version is near flawless.

With the wobbling, you said you didn’t want to see it constantly, yet 36 frames is enough to make you favor a video full of wobbling. And even if you really thought it wasn’t overly distracting, there are even more people that do: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=86&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=60
From what I can read and remember, people were annoyed because the screen is shaking in CV3. Also, a lot of people think that wobbling is more interesting than just waiting. If people really insist, the movie can be easily edited to remove that. But is it really the main reason, I have some doubt at it.

If you're going to replace one of my runs, at least try to make something worthy of being called an improvement.
It is worthy to be published. Otherwise, I wouldn't have submitted it. I don't see any problem that Sleepz is credited or anyone else that deserves it. Ex. The Donkey Kong movie or Kung Fu before it were beaten by Deviance. Imo, by saying it's my discovery and it shall always be mine, is somewhat similar to software patents which is really bad.

Unless 15 people tell me to finish, I will not continue my warpless run that I have started some monthes ago. I am at beginning of stage 3. Imo, the snes version is better because you can do all worlds in one run.

Btw, it is not because these not new bugs shown in this video that I haven't tried to find. And I am 100% sure Sleepz had tested elsewhere also.

And this wobbling nonsense - you people are just looking for a reason to keep Sleepz's name on the main page. Obviously, everyone finds it not entertaining. .
Well I don't think so. There's a lot of people that loves that.

Not that he had to, but it was unfortunate of Phil to just submit this without explanation text. I think it helped trigger this whole conversation.
I am starting to think that some guys are frustrated because for some reason, a guy like me, can beat a run by finding tricks that no one have thought before.

I wished Phil would have put his effort in a warpless run, instead of trying to improve this by a few frames...
I have started this run before that warpless run was submitted. In fact, I am happy I didn't do it since it's longer and there's some chances that it would be displeased like this one. The problem here is not the fact that I beat someone's time by 36 frames but because someone makes it 36 frames slower than it should be.

This run is not a pure copy of Sleepz's version. Almost all stages, except 6-2, were improved by at least 1 frame. Compared to Sleepz's version, I have lost 5 frames when taking the rocket at 7-1. Apparently, there's a X frames rule. 4-1 improvement is the most noticeable one but there's the birdo fight at stage of 7-1 where Sleepz had made an unuseful jump that costs him some frames. I am somewhat deceived that Sleepz is not happy and calling it "PURE COPY" and instead must study my video and find where at those improvements. His discovery is cool at 1-1 but he gets lucky that it saves more frame that my trick at stage 4-1. Both of them are improvements. It's just that one of them makes the video faster than the other.

I think you are missing the point, Phil. Your video only brought one new trick to the table in a game that was revolutionized by Sleepz. The sportsmanlike thing to do would have been to make a post in the SMB2 thread showing the 4-1 strategy, and then invite Sleepz to incorporate it into his own run.
Yes but Sleepz could have posted his new trick in SMB2 thread to tell Genisto about this. In fact, in my video there's more than 1 new trick but most of them makes only 1-2 frames faster. They aren't evident to notice for viewers. Thinking of that DK, imo my DK isn't more entertaining than Arc's last version and he never complained, as well as other people, about that. My movie is only 1 frame faster. Btw, I never claimed that all tricks in this video were found by me. Like I said in an old topic, I will not stop making wobbling. Is it clear to everyone? For you that don't like this then don't watch my runs. That's simple as that.(Luckily for you, there's some games that prevent me to do that because I would lost frames and if I am going to redo CV3 then there will be no more of that.) A game is a game and it is for fun not for serious people like you.

Yesterday, less than 20 frames improvement wasn't good, today 36 frames isn't good and tomorrow 10 seconds will be bad or what? Sorry but there's something's wrong. I am not making drama because adelikat beats me at Punch Out or WalkerBoh beats me by 5 frames at Circus Charlie or even SMB1 that is 1 frame faster than me. Imo, some people are frustrated here.

Well, Genisto was working on newer version and if you would have tell it this new trick(I am talking about that bug in 1-1 before Birdo), I am sure it would be as fast as mine version, if not faster. The other tricks in your video were already been found. For the left+right, I must recall that people were displeased because in Castlevania 3, the screen is shaking which I admit is somewhat a little annoying. Other than that, see videos by other authors and you will notice that I am not alone to do this. I even notice, I don't remember which game, that Bisqwit does this. I think it's his WIP Solomon's key run or maybe that SMB3 demo.

Well, maybe I should write when, why and how those improvements happen but I prefer avoiding this work. You know, Sleepz's version was almost perfect so I am lucky I was able to save 36 frames. When I started doing this run, it was to improved 4-1, where most people had noticed the improvement. Even if it would be 1 frame faster I would have submitted it. And if someone beat me by 1 frame I will vote yes. This game does have a lot of competition. If it would be SMRPG and only 36 frames faster, evidently it deserves to be refused but SMB2 is a short game.

If you're unhappy then do it yourself. Btw, it was 3 frames faster and new pom's version is 1 frame faster than me so... And if you have suggestions for better route then tell it and stop complaining.

Well, there may be this editor option and when used, it plays the movie once and makes temp savestates for each 1000 frames or something like that.
