Is there some reason that sone people are so blind?
Check there carefully next time. http://tasvideos.org/FAQ.html
I don't recommend downloading FFDShow there. The version is 3 years old.
ok ok don't humiliate me with one the worst movie that Bisqwit had received but now, my theory is, do it once, well I always hope so, and do it good.
Even Genisto had made very miserable movie. If you had saw his Adventure of Bayou Billy on NES using VirtuaNES or Renegade using Famtasia you'd say " That sucks"
;)
But well, that GI Joe and adv. Island 1 movie doesn't deserve a star :P
I still agree that some of my 1st movies, I will not name them, adv. island 3, Double Dragon 2 etc.. :P, are currently imperfect.
Give me some time and they will be improved. I am currently working on DD2. After stage 1, it's some seconds faster. Note that I wasn't aiming for fastest time bit now with FCEU, I am aiming for faster time probably not fastest since I don't want to make it boring to watch.
I am pretty sure that Dragon's Lair and Goonies can't be improved. If someone can beat one of them, it will certainly deserve a star.
Note that the quality is higher as well as file size is reduced a lot.
Anyway, h264 will become the standard in near future. So better start using it RIGHT NOW. ;)
Personally, I think this codec should be used from now. Even if it's still an incomplete project, it does a pretty good job. I've managed to encode the Battletoads warpfull movie with better quality and smaller file size than the current one.
Since it's been a while that FFDShow is highly recommended to be installed and it can decode h264, I think there's no problem using Mpeg4 type 10.
My next Double Dragon 2 movie :P which will be finished soon.
I don't agree with Chip 'n Dale. That's too easy since the 2nd player doesn't do anything.
Personally, I called it a 1 player run.
I've got an error trying to compile Nitsuja's Snes9x version 6 source under MinGW.

Though, I know I am not missing any libraries and headers because I've managed to compile the MinGW Snes9x version, http://discidium.batcave.net/ , succesfully.
When I unchecked read only, I would like that it remains unchecked and vice versa. It's annoying when want to resume a movie, I must always uncheck it.
I am not listening but I am reading :P
Ok, more seriously, I think what interest people here is a tool that let us edit the movie file.
Here's what Genisto have done in PHP.
http://hiddendragon.sytes.net/
If you can do something similar, it will be better than a PHP script.
Although, I suggest checking nesmock source and port it to JAVA.
If you want Genisto's editor source, I can send it to you.
There's not many users that want to use it.
And if someone wants to use a *nix environment, I think he will use Linux instead.
And AviSynth, http://www.avisynth.org/ , can do the job but I have never tried it myself so I can't tell if it is a good solution or not.
When the emu is paused and we're doing an action while paused, I.E. loading a savestate, we don't know if the action was really done or not. The only way to know if it happens or not, is to let the emulator play 1 frame.
I think it will be best if we could configure movie directory. Right now, it seems to only put the file in ROMs dir.

When recording AVI, I noticed that when frameskip was set to 2, it records the AVI at 60 FPS with duplicated frames. Normally, at frameskip 2, it should record at 20 FPS without duplicated frames.
OK, to do that I'd have to make the frameskip not changeable while an AVI is being recorded, but that's not unreasonable.
.
I didn't know it was possible during a movie, but I meant when the frameskip was settled before recording into AVI.
At frameskip 0, it records all frames.
At frameskip 1, I think it records 1 frame then copy it then a new frame, copy, etc... when it should be 30 FPS.
At frameskip 2, read earlier
Frameskip 3 ......
....
Until frameskip 9.
VBA works like Snes9x but I preferred how FCEU handles hotkeys for loading savestate and saving.
Pressing shift+Fx for saving or Fx for loading isn't clean.
Right now, if I want to use all slots, I need 20 keys(some may be used twice but that's not good).
In FCEU, you need 10 for slots + 2 for saving and loading that selected slot which is a lot better.
(It's not that it is bad but I am used to it and I think I am not alone thinking that)
He said he is using Windows XP.
= no piping with mencoder.
VANDAL: I'd recommend to use a lossless codec which reduce the size of the file. The better I found, is Techsmith but it's not free.
After 2 GB, an AVI is hardly editable. After 4 GB, it's impossible that it is not corrupted.
The only way to prevent that, is someone that add something in FCEU that splits AVI when reaching 2 GB.
Right now, the only emulator that splits AVI is Famtasia but this emu sucks.
