I don't think an improvement of SMB3 will take 1 day to do. So, as for me, I don't care if i's published now or in 1 week. I agree with Xkeeper about the screensot. Also, the run being published with a different version of the game also violates another rule. PRG0 when it was PRG1. Another proof that rules on this site are rarely applied.

I don't find the "ROM version has been switched to PRG0. Reason: More interesting level names during the ending sequence." to be a good reason for ROM switching but since it stay sync in PRG1, it's ok for me. And i hope it will be encoded with PRG1 too. Nice run, I was expecting a 2-3 seconds improvement but not 5. Congratulations.

Yes, Bear Hugger is the only improved fight. If you know who first made the record of Bob Charlie, Aran Ryan, Heike Kagero and How Quarlow, that would be sweet.

That was almost too quick. :P Voting yes for concept. Someone knows the explanation of why the character is graphically poor for a GBA game?

Yes, I think you should cancel it and submit the new movie. If it would be 1-2 frames improvement, Bisqwit wouldn't probably care to update the file but those 729 frames gained deserves a new description.

98.8 doesn't have rerecord and maybe not even record at all. The link to 98.10 is dead and it looks the official version. There is NO official FCEU version with rerecord. JXQ: Also, "Source Code Download Gens "Grrl" v9f Linux port" in Arcade section next to FBA. Edit: However, the source is "partially" included with the .rar you are hosting. It's a patch file for fba 0.2.94.98 source which is maybe available on the official website.

There aren't many movies done with FCEU 0.98.10 and I think all stay sync in 0.98.12. So, that version isn't useful but it would be a nice add-up to the museum. ;) I think the only guy that may have kept that version is blip himself, maybe Bisqwit does have the source but I doubt it. I am afraid that version is lost forever. The reason of being unkown by many people is that 0.98.12 version has been released somehing like 3-4 weeks after and 0.98.10 was mainly in beta-testing phase. And people were still using Famtasia. Published movies done with 0.98.10: Dragon's lair by Phil Power Blade by Genisto. I think there is also another one made by someone(Walkerboh?) but I don't remember what it is. Also, I have started Legend of Zelda run with that version but finish it with .12. As for Snes9x 1.42, the scenario is similar except that 1.43WIP1 was released ~4-5 monthes after. So, there is even higher chances that someone still have it. All my published SNES movies are done with 1.42 if I remember correctly. And some people have done movies with it. Also the source code for FCEU 0.98.12 is still available. Also, it is a good idea to create such page. However, I would put all rerecording emulators, accepted or not.

Ok for NES emulators, it is missing FCEU 0.98.10 but I doubt someone kept this version. It is also missing VirtuaNES. Latest version is 0.97. Also, missing Nintendulator. For the Snes section, it written: "# SNES9x 1.43 - TAS features added by gocha, nitsuja". blip was the first to release a rerecording emulator for Snes9x. He should be mentioned. Also, the first release was 1.42 which is probably rare too. I thought I kept that version but it seems I only have the official version which doesn't contain rerecording. Also missing Snes9x 1.502 for Windows and 1.5 for Linux. As for Final burn alpha, I do have the binary and source of it.

It is sync stable and movies can be done without desyncs(well, maybe some games yes as there are always exceptions) and as gocha as proven, 1.43 wasn't so more stable, as I knew since desyncs also occur when I was tasing with it. And since the major desync issue is fixed, I don't see why 1.43 should be considered a "superior" version when it is obviously inferior. Games that I know emulation is superior in 1.51: Super Castlevania 4. The music is emulated better. However, the pitch is not correct. But the sound effects sounds better imo. Especially the gate at very beginning of the game. We can play Top Gear 3000 with this emulator. Those that I think emulation should be better: I think Star Fox overclocked speed in 1.43 is fixed. In Battletoads in battlemaniacs there were graphical glitches, I also think they were fixed. And if you want to argue about emulation, I think you can on snes9x forum. I am sure they will give better reasons than I can. As for me, I know it's better. It's up to you if you want to stick with 1.43.

You always disagree with me anyway. Maybe you can reedit that emulator homepages?

Oh yeah man, Thank you Gocha. The movie is now sync stable. Oh yeah man. 1.43 dictatorship is over. 1.51 is now my offcial version.

Should I prepare for releasing 1.51-improvement series seriously...?
Of course. 1.51 is superior than 1.43. I think you should focus mainly on this one.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/get/1000052085/Super%20Castlevania%20IV%20%28U%29%20%5B%21%5D.smv Since states are no longer valid, I think you can create one. Just save when Simon touches the bridge after the elevator at block 2-2. And toy with savestates there. You'll quickly notice that most of the times, the bats don't move the same direction even if your inputs are the same. No, I did create new savestates. And I even created a new cfg file in case of. Edit: And I don't think WIP 1 support is needed. That feature was implemented in 1.43 Final as some games desync when 1.43 WIP didn't.

Not to be the pessimist guy but there are still desync issues in SCV4 at very same place. Maybe there is something specific to that game only. Or maybe I need to select special options such as "sync samples with cpu? Our movies does have the left+right and "fake mute desync workaround" checked. Maybe the "fake mute desync workaround" should be unchecked? But anyway, thank you for trying out. Your fix might indeed reduce desyncs in most games. I don't know. Also, what "Fake mute desync workaround" is supposed to do? Is it really necessary? I never know if it's good or not to check it as well as sync samples with cpu. I think we need one and only one reliable thing.

You can compile one. I think the instructions are the same as the linux version.

Btw, those things would mostly go away if someone finally created a rewinding feature to the emulators (ie. like frame advance, but instead of going forward one frame, it goes back one frame).
I don't see how rewinding 1 frame would replace them. I don't find that feature to be useful. Btw, there is rewind feature in almost all emulators since long time now. FCEU, Zsnes, VBA and I think Snes9x too do have it.

I think if he fixes something sound related, savestates will be no more reliable like in 1.51. That's what did happened. So, it's not recommended to touch anything related to emulation unless he updates savestates. And if he would know how to do so, he would have fix 1.51 problems not 1.43. That... is 4 years old now? Kinda old... heh. Your best hope is to wait 1.52 that should fix even more sound emulation problems. In hope savestates will be reliable.

Nice improvement, I knew it was improvable and I feel it could be still improved. But I might be wrong on this one. It's just a feeling. It's just that I remember when tasing that game, on level 4, I did managed to finish the level at 3900. Famtasia isn't reliable for frame precision and I thought it was slower by 1 frame but today, I am not sure. Anyway, I am not tempted to tas that fucking sucking game myself. :P

v20 was released because of v19 and its predecessors to have really bad emulation for gbx games. It corrupts games where original system doesn't. And I don't recommend such emulators for doing movies. As for me, I've never seen people complaing to so supposed many bugs. There is only one and it's desync problems with GBA movies. However, gbx games is working well iirc which was what that version was designed for. So, no, it shouldn't be removed from the page but maybe a recommendation that v19 should be used to record gba games and maybe v20 for gbx.

Nice run. Imo, we should count that run as part of the "glitched runs". Imo, it shouldn't obsolete the current run.

I really like the home made club sandwich. Bacon, chicken, tomatoe, lettuce, Brown bread and Hellman's mayo.

Exactly. I tried to fix the desync issue of 1.51 a few days ago, but I couldn't see what's going. It's tough :(
Did you read that thread and what I posted on the Snes9x board? I gave links and how to reproduce the desync. It might help you.

Well, you can check the "null frame" And if you have multiple core or cpu like most modern computer, you can check multi thread. Note that I haven't tested multi thread myself as I'm using a mono core cpu, Athlon Xp.
