Okay, I didn't have a lot of time to get to that TAS, fortunately I've found new strategies for me to say that my WIP is really unoptimized. I may describe things about it later. Oh and I've found that the tap-dancing glitch may not be useful until now since I need the blue "desert ruins" treasure. Here you go, I was just testing the tap-dancing glitch when I realized I was late.

ok, I just thought using these glitches in WL3 could save too much time and would make the TAS end up being boring or marked as "glitched". I knew about that glitch, I don't really know what treasure I could get early, but I know at 100% the walkthrough so if you know some treasure possibly glitch-able don't hesitate to tell me, I might change my mind.

Well, to answer your question in particular, dashing running or whatever has an instant speed bad in the beggining, good in the end, walking has the same instant speed (except for the acceleration), and overall using running might be better. The problem is : it depends of the situation. Running is faster than walking, but only if you can jump before having to stop, or else it will be slower. Anyway, that improvement is a nice find! I'm surprised I missed that one, I thought I had tested it before. Good one, and thanks you noticed the mistake.

Rridgway : I don't really understand about what glitch you're talking about, but I dislike glitching, so I won't try this. Apologies. Yrr : I try every move everywhere, so every time I don't use the sliding, it's because it's slower to do so. Actually, I realized I might have lost some frames doing a 2nd slide since the lag after cancelling the slide got Wario slower than if he would have just run. Sometimes I can't explain why sometimes sliding looks wayyy faster than walking, but isn't. Thank you very much for the hint and the compliment, I might get back on the run now. EDIT : Oh and what do you mean by running and walking? EDIT 2 : Here is about lots of things I have written about speed and all that, you can also see the input display of my WIP. Actually, I think I got wrong about the sliding, but it may be useful once I have the garlic powerup, since your slide gets faster then.

You say yours stinks? Haha, it's just unoptimized, but I've learn several things from it. Besides, it's a good thing you had enough patience to finish the game.
yours looks nice so far!
Thanks a lot.

Ok, folks, here is what I've been doing recently. You think you're going to see two stages completed but no, you'll have to wait until next time, sorry 'bout that. People that got bored of the beggining might want to turn input display on. Do you like Rapidshare? REPOST EDIT : Here are the two next treasures done. Since I got 3 treasures so far I called this file YoungWario03.vbm , so I hope no one would get confused. The Vast Plain was a plain in the *ss, so there are some strategies I didn't try 'cuz they would have cost days to try, not to mention that I already spent several days to complete it. Actually that was helpful, since now I think I made some mistakes in the beggining. No big deal, I just may start another TAS of the game after I finish that one, with everything I have written it'll be quick to make. In the peaceful village, one thing I didn't try : make some burner robot fall from the roof so he could hit Wario, but it's too hard to see if it moves when I don't see it. Besides, I need to check if I should let it walk for a little before jumping, and I don't think it's faster than what I made, but I may check in the future. Enjoy! EDIT : Hey I didn't know josh l. published a run of WL3! Gotta see this now.

So if anybody is interested in seeing this, let me say : I can do that TAS. I'm not TASing if nobody wants it of course.

Completely amazing, and fast, and I heard a brand new song in ZM thanks to your great escape in the mother ship. Yes vote! Asking for star! Now there's a little advice I may give you and every ZM TASer, and it's quite useless but hey, I wonder why nobody thought about it. Actually you should have started the game in the slot A, not C, because when you choose the slot C, it takes too much time to move to the upper part of the screen. That's all. Great work anyway! The Mother brain fight was the most intense part in my opinion, but I have not been bored during a single second.

Have you tried something about the game recently? First of all, try releasing a vbm of the first level grey treasure done fast, so I could see your strategy and say if there's something wrong.

Try with a savestate and frame counter if your strategy of moving is faster than mine. And about the glitch : What's in that green treasure? Is it really worth it? If you are supposed in the game to get it after the high jump, then it might be a sequence break, but for now you can't get to the treasure. We'll see about it. But try it on every other "fire" in the game =)

Is it faster? EDIT : Actually, it's not. If I recall correctly, you have to conserve the max speed you gain during the 15 frames acceleration (or a slow chargejump), if you try something right after landing w/o doing the left-right trick you'll lose that speed, and it will slow Wario down, whatever the move he may use. In that case, your second chargejump will be "slow", meaning that it won't take you as far as the fastest chargejump. Hope you got it.

Also, the gravity in Fusion is retarded, but I doubt there's anyone who doesn't know it (after all, the whole motion system is slow and rigid as hell there).
I second that. Also, for the cameos, there are actually plenty of them. There's just one that I remember of, because I didn't like it. It was the fact that the beam system is MP-oriented, like : the power beam is weak, the ice beam is slow as hell, you can't mix two different types of beam...

Getting the green key early is no good as you still need to reach the chest, which requires a certain treasure which makes the leaves fall in the chest room.

Well then, I encourage you to kill that damn Yamato. I know it's sometimes hard (I mean lazy-ing) to program dancing while playing good, but I think that's the last time you will have to, so don't give up. REPOST EDIT : Ok now, I'm sorry if I may sound rude, but I want Yamato taken down fast. I WANT MY TAS OF SOR3 SO BAD I'LL BE MAD!

By "quit", do you mean he should stop working on the run?

green treasure OotW : Last music box ? I'm afraid that's the blue one, but I don't remember. If what you say is true, then it's not a gigantic timesaver, since you must get the item that makes the tree open it's mouth, and I think that item is in the last level, but you should try it, that would still be an awesome timesaver. EDIT : If you don't get the last music box this way, it's actually completely useless since you must get the high jump before getting to the last level >_> So forget what I say : You should find a way out, or else quit it!
