Actually, Dragon Egg is a bit more confusing - the download link is labeled "BizHawk movie file (.tas)", but when you download and extract it you get a .bkm file...

It's nice to know I wasn't the only one thinking this. The excessive voice grunting and calling of attacks didn't do much for my opinion of this game either...

I don't know if that's true for the maze that requires you the help of a navigator, but it might be possible.
Even if you can get through the underworld maze without the head of the navigator, you still need its eyeball-necklace in order to get on the ghost ship, so at most you'd just save a few frames from not taking out the head.

The titlebar itself reveals the problem - the ROM is named "Zelda II - The Adventure of Link (U) [b8]", which means it's a known bad dump and thus any attempts to emulate it are pointless.

I think I got diabetes from watching this speedrun, but whether I got it from the excessive cuteness or all of the fruit being eaten is anyone's guess...

In the Youtube encodes, there's something screwy going on with sound - some characters' footsteps are really loud (I don't remember them sounding that way the last time I played the game), and the "ladder climb" sound seems wrong.

The movie file download link (http://tasvideos.org/movies/pjm/wyster-tombraiderchronicles.zip) is broken, returning only a 0-byte file.

I suspect たおせん is a shortened form of たおしません, making it "Dark Cloud: It's no use... I will not be defeated by [the likes of] you! Hahaha..." Also, I laughed at the "On that day, the world was changed forever..." subtitle.

* General MIDI music in DOOM II doesn't work all too well (newest mainline JPC-RR versions do emulate it, but it is barely possible to encode runs using it) so one would have to use worse-sounding FM music (granted not many have even heard what DOOM II sounds like with MIDI music).
Some people might think the FM music sounds better for some of the songs (e.g. to me, the titlescreen tune sounds downright awful in MIDI). From another point of view, they're the one version that everyone has heard - most soundcards have different MIDI instrument sets, but the FM synth versions sound the same on everything.

Strangely, the "level section complete" tune sounds correct in some places (at 4:38, 6:01, and one other spot) but sounds wrong everywhere else (except for the sound rip, where songs 37 and 38 sound just fine). Considering several emulators seem to do the same thing, I'm wondering if it's a bug in the game itself rather than an emulation defect...

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like there's some significant sound emulation problems here - the end of level tunes are completely missing the bass track (unless I'm thinking of the music from the sequel).

Man, could you to post your WIP's in Mediafire? This link doesn't working more. Thanks.
The link will start working again once DeHackEd fixes his site's database and brings it back online.

For the record, the site API is working properly again, though it's behaving rather strangely with regards to compression - if I request compression using "$soap_options['compression'] = SOAP_COMPRESSION_ACCEPT | SOAP_COMPRESSION_GZIP;" (just as described on the API page), it performs extremely slowly (about 10 seconds to download 724 records), but if I omit SOAP_COMPRESSION_ACCEPT (or simply drop $soap_options entirely), it's extremely fast (less than 1 second to complete the same query).

The movie file has gone away - it gives HTTP error 406 ("Nothing here") and says "gruu".

After the recent server move, the Site API has stopped working - doDbQuery() consistently returns with success="false", no result data, and a blank error message.

Annoyingly, I don't seem to have the right version of the game - it's missing NUKUM.TXT, ORDER.FRM, and VENDOR.DOC, and it has an extra DUKE1.BAT. All of the files are dated 1991/11/01 and were extracted from DN1-ASP.EXE from my official "Duke Nukum - All Three Episodes" floppy. When I actually run it, it says it's version 2.0, the same as what you've got. The fact that JPC-RR movies require a byte-for-byte match on the hard disk image (and have no option to say "I don't care if it doesn't match, play the movie anyways") would seem to be a bit of an annoyance...

Definitely Mystic Towers. Monster Bash might be interesting as well. [edit] Oh, and also Oxyd, once there's proper mouse support.

Strange that this movie was published as "Kirby's Avalanche (JPN)" instead of "Super Puyo Puyo 2 (JPN)"...

I'm still trying to get over how awesome that run was. Loved the BLJs in Bowser in the Fire Sea.

Count me in for another vote on multi-category ratings. I'm partial to the box plot method of representing them, though min/max/median would also work.

I don't recall there being a discussion on whether or not this particular ROM hack should be allowed as an exception to the "Hacked and homebrew games are not allowed" rule - unless there was, I'm predicting this will be rejected shortly.

My personal choice would be the PC version, too bad dosbox isn't further along.
Personally, I'd prefer the Amiga version for its clearly superior music, though there's even less effort toward Amiga rerecording (i.e. approximately zero).
