Very interesting optimization you found then I would have never thought to even try it there. It looks slower to me at first because it seemed like you were taking more time in the first room is all. Edit: After watching again it definitely looks faster. Nice find!!!

Also I don't know if this would be useful but, Overfiend found this. http://puu.sh/pgOMy.mp4 So when you land I believe and enter a transition after you shoot and jump after you will receive a full charge beam. It add 60 frames to the door transition though. This happened to me once before a long time ago while I was practicing but, I thought I just loaded a different save state. Edit: It is just a graphical glitch. The beam isn't actually charged.

Yes, it does have applications actually. I will not disclose any more info on that though. Also can be useful for RTA as well.

So sniq found you can pause the Shine Spark Timer by releasing Charge Beam Shots. Each time you release a Charge Beam shot it pauses the Shine Spark Timer 1 frame so you can release 3 shots at most to have 183 frames to activate a Shine Spark instead of the normal 180 frames.

Is it possible in the room before Botwoon to release the Pancake Enemy, shoot half the pillar, jump into it to get stuck in the Ceiling/Floor and get a flash suit from it?

I don't even care anymore. Its up to the TASer anyway if he wants to do the glitch or not. I consider it a cheap trick and major glitch but, who the fuck I am I to say it can't be used. Again its really up to the TASer and I'm not and never will be a TASer because that shit is too tedious for me. I respect TASing as an Art Form and who am I to restrict their vision. That is the thing about only allowing so many categories in the first place it really restricts what you want to do in a run. Maybe people would be more motivated to do more runs otherwise without fear of being rejected, but I digress because I don't want to bring up any undesired topics again. The site has rules and this site is about super plays. Just doing that glitch to me doesn't feel like much of a super play when compared to taking on Ridley with a Pee Shooter.

That is my opinion on this matter and something I wanted to point out as well. The main argument its a major glitch that gives you ammo you shouldn't have. When something glitches the display in a non glitched run I also consider that to be glitched.

I said it also glitches the display but, its a major glitch because it gives you ammo that you shouldn't even have access to without increasing to your item percentage.

I really don't see your point. Super Jump is considered a Major Glitch because it glitches doors and gets you into doors you should not be able to access yet. Ammo you shouldn't have access to for me is no different.
