Since there are 37 obtainable heart pieces and only 36 are required to fullfill 100%
If there are 37, why are we skipping one? That doesn't sound like 100% to me. Again, i don't see how it makes any sense for us to care that one of them was never intended to be there. What matters is that it IS there, so if our goal is to get everything, we must get it.

Well maybe if you only consider beating the final boss or whatever the "intended goal", and not anything else. I highly doubt any developers intended players to warp into the credits, or directly to the final boss skipping everything else, which tases do all the time.

Honestly it just seems absurd to me that we should care what the developers intended. When have we ever cared about that before?

So at what point do we stop? 20 hearts? 24 hearts? 30 hearts? Additionally, in this particular point of obtaining items in the game, duping hearts would be void because you're not getting all the hearts. You're just picking up the same one repeatedly.
Can't we just stop where ever we happen to end up after getting all of the heart pieces? Whether that's 20 hearts, 70, or 20.25 doesn't really seem like it would matter

You should check sync from the start often. The save states are what cause desyncs when using a wiimote. This shouldn't be a big deal at first, but as your movie gets longer this is going to start becoming impractical (you really need to check sync very often). Fortunately, you don't really need to. My experience has been that when playing back from a save state, if it doesn't desync right away, it will play back perfectly (and show any desyncs that would occur from the start). Just be careful to check from a save state well before the last part you've confirmed to sync, to give it a chance to desync if it's going to. Also, your experience may be different, so still check sync from the start often.

You'll need to find a pointer to the data. Which is easy if you know where it starts, but you probably don't. I'd guess the easiest way would be to just search for pointers to every address within a kilobyte or two before one of the relevant address.

just follow the same rules as the speedrunning community and that's it.
I don't think most people, including those who came up with those rules really agree with that.

That is the input count, and is perfectly normal.

Ah, yeah, a bunch of people have been asking for the av sync hack for the latest revisions. I'll do that shortly.

Delete your save file (or make sure it's the same as it was when you recorded)?

You need to close and restart dolphin. What revision are you using? The latest would have suggested that.

I don't have the slightest idea then. I added the disc change patch, and avsync hack, and everything else should be identical. Certainly neither of those would affect sync...

1) yes, dual core, idle skipping, and HLE dsp emulation will, but all will cause problems (desyncs mostly). 2) options-> hotkey settings 3) There's no wiimote tas input yet :(

Are you sure you have all the settings correct? Check the about menu, 79ca43226cfa5363bf6826d14c9518c7b26f6078 is the revision for the 3.0-371 that it syncs on, right?

Hm under the latest development builds, there're only options for 64-bit and 86-bit dolphin... not 32-bit.
x86 is 32-bit, it makes absolutely no sense, but that is how it works.
Sure it does. The name comes from intel's 8086 cpu, which was the first x86 cpu.

Don't use 3.5, use the latest development build.

I am able to get my run to sync on 3.0-371, which is odd because one of the builds on the 1st page uses 3.0-383, and my TAS uses 389. What happens in the 383 AVhack build is the "frame" indicator being 2 units higher than it should be when I do a playback. On the first input (VI = 1) in 371 and 389, the frame amount is 5, but on 383 it is 7. If anyone is able to, I could use a modified build of 371 with the AVhack. I don't know if 371 has any of the TAS improvements, but disc change does work. dolphin-emulator.com/download.html?list=17
Here, should be what you need. Don't tas with it, but it should sync your movie. By the way, dolphin-emulator.com is not run by our dev team, please don't use that site. http://dolphin-emu.org/ is what you want.
