http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/source/browse/Source/Core/Core/Src/HW/DVDInterface.cpp Lines 34 and 38. No one is ever going to fix loading times, so if anyone is affected by this, you may wish to play around with these numbers. Don't expect anything too accurate, given the horribly simple implementation, but it shouldn't be too difficult to make something work better than it does now.

amazing job :) I’m kind of getting fed up with freeruns, and when I saw it I thought “eh, another freerun”, but it’s actually really good
Yeah, i liked it a lot as well. Definitely way better than most free runs that conist of nothing more than crawling around for 5 minutes.

If this was selected as the far more interesting of the two I can't even imagine how uninteresting the other mini-game must have been.
There are plenty of interesting mini games to tas in mario party. However, there are also a good amount of them that, like this, are entirely inappropriate for a tas. This wouldn't even be so terrible as part of a full game tas (assuming no other games like this were done), but by itself, all you're doing is answering questions that you know the answer to before the question is even asked.

All it does is answer questions. Using save states anyone can do the same exact thing in 20 seconds. There's nothing impressive about it.

That is pretty much the definition of a bad game choice.

So unfortunately there is no version of the game that can be played on Dolphin.
There are like 10 different gc and wii versions of mario party. edit: oh you meant mario party 1. Well the gc games aren't too bad at least, so the option is still there. Also...who used the palm of their hand to rotate the control stick? >____>
There is an element of strategy involved in the placement of each character in games like DK or Luigi's boards. You would want players spread across the board to optimize your chances of buying a new star as quickly as possible. I don't remember if the stars spawned in random spaces on the map or if there was a way to determine where the next star is going to be.
It's always possible to know what will happen before it happens. That's what makes it a tas. If it's random, you can manipulate it to be wherever you want it. If it's not random (or rather it's set at the start of the game), then you can just get the start, and check where the next will be, then go back and make sure you have someone right in front of it.

Its not even 10 minutes, it's one.
It's worth checking to see what happens if you reset during the intro cutscene. Many games let you skip their intro cutscene that way. (Probably it won't work, but it'll save a lot of trouble if it does!)
It saves the game towards the end of the cs. It would be faster if we could hard reset, but the only way dolphin can reset is via home menu, which is locked for 5 seconds after the save is made, and also takes an extra second or so to do.

Ok, that fixed it. I don't think many people will be willing to do that, though.
Newer OSs/browsers already have that certificate, so most people hopefully won't have to.
The cert fixed it for me, with windows 7, and firefox 16.

awesome stuff! As for the fence-jumping, it looks like the time you actually made it to the other side was because you mashed slower and his feet touched the beam later in the jump-slash animation.
Yep. I've tried pretty much everything there, and it didn't seem to matter. Either way, i don't think it'll be possible to save time with it, after all. I also found this yesterday Link to video Saves 1-2 seconds. I think i've found just about everything i expect to for now, so i'll probably get back to working on the tas soon.

Link to video Saves about 1 second, and requires getting a heart piece after stallord. Link to video Saves ~20 frames. Link to video About 10 frames or so faster than an lja. Nothing big, but these things add up.

It's the latest master build with 1050 kBps disk read speed. Did it really matter what exact revision it was? It loads slower, that's all that matters.

Link to video I think this will make it faster to skip faron twilight, but i still need to think it through and time it. edit: did some timing. Best case scenario, if i could jump the fence after 1 minute of jumpslashing (which is how long it takes to get to the first place where you can slide down the other side and land on the edge), it'd save maybe 5-10 seconds. However i'm fairly confident that's not possible, and even if it is possible to save time with this, i've yet to get across the fence again after 2 hours of spamming b, so honestly not sure it's even worth trying.

Sigh... So frustrated! How difficult can it be to determine and fix the issue? :(
I would imagine it works with the build i posted before, but no one seems to care enough to test it. Though it's also not a real fix.

What exactly is the average loading time of a GC game anyway? Anyway to emulate the loading times to be around that? Also, does this mean future runs using this version of dolphin will be longer than runs not using this?
Dolphin normally uses ~3 MBps, i set it to ~1 for that exe. Yes, load times will be longer. But this was just to test with, longer loading times are the entire point of it. Don't tas with that. I have no idea what is typical for an actual gc. I believe it is around 3 MBps, at least for sustained sequential reads.

Have you changed any settings at all? Even some of the graphics settings that might seem harmless can sometimes cause desyncs.

You need to find a static pointer. To do that, search for the game ID, and take the first result that ends with 0000 (so in your case 0B670000 was probably what you wanted). Then take that address and search for it as a 4 byte value. That will give you your pointer. Then when adding addresses use that pointer, and then an offset relative to the where the game id is. So using your addresses, with ammo at 0B7DB6D7, and game id at 0B670000, your offset would be 16B6D7 (0B7DB6D7-0B670000).

I apologize for only asking and not testing. My Windows partition needs to be updated before I can run it, so I'm Mac-only for now.
You can run dolphin on mac.

If we find a way to clip through the gate at the start (doesn't seem terribly likely), that would save like 5 hours.
Can you please elaborate?
It would skip killing all of the poes. All we would have to do in arbiter's ground is get spinner, boss key, and kill the boss. As per my edit above though, it doesn't seem possible.
