Have you tried multiple times? Mupen will sometimes desync randomly for no reason.

Speed is easy to find. Start with a search of 0, while standing still, then move forward and search for increased value. Typically, you can just repeat that until you find it, though that's obviously not the most efficient way to do so. Height is also easy to determine, since it is always clear how your height changes. If you don't find it, try searching lower values when you go up, and higher when you move down. X/Y are a little harder for 3d games, since there's no clear way of knowing how moving in a certain direction will affect these. Your only choice is to use the changed/unchanged searches, and hope it doesn't take too long to find.

Generally, the us is the same, but all of the major networks (including fox, nbc, cbs, abc and others) broadcast over the air, which doesn't cost anything, other than a one time fee of $10-30, for an antenna. This usually is limited to maybe a dozen channels that are worth watching, and depending on where you live, perhaps a few dozen others, that may or may not ever be worth watching. But it's free. Regardless, the point is, just because something is broadcasted or otherwise given away for free, does not mean anyone else is allowed to do the same.

Except when they do. In the US, all of the major tv stations broadcast for free, over the air. All you need to watch it is an antenna, and a tv. It doesn't cost a cent. Furthermore, it's pretty common for them to offer their shows online, again, for free. Just because someone gives you something for free does not mean you can give it away for free too.

So, can someone be successfully sued for uploading a livestream of a gaming event to youtube?
Yes. Just because it is aired for free does not mean you can upload it elsewhere. This is no different than uploading a tv show, which also air for free.

Honestly, I don't see a SS TAS in the near future. Not only is motionplus not supported, but optimizing motionplus seems ridiculous. As is the case with TWW right now, stuff is still being found and many small time-savers are all over. It's not late enough for a Skyward Sword TAS. Give it some time. Also, I don't see Wii MotionPlus recording as too big of a priority for Dolphin, so this could be a while.
Like i already said, motionplus support is already there, just not in master builds.

I've never played the game, so i can't say, but all of those things could potentially be random. Video game physics don't always make sense. You can use cheat engine. There's info about it in the dolphin forum.

The cursor could very easily affect any rng. That is quite typical actually, as your input is the most random thing available to the console.

Jpeterson did a ton of work on emulated motion plus, and i believe he added support for recording it. It's very old though, and is never getting merged into master, which would take a massive amount of work to do at this point.

I didn't knew the Wii-mote recording was that good.
There was an update recently that seems to have fixed a number of issues. Testing as been pretty limited, but it's working quite well for me in nsmbw, with almost no desyncs.

As far as i can tell, those two commits don't even do anything. The first fixes (or at least tries to, i haven't tested it) the desync check, which seems useless to begin with, and the second disables it entirely.

It's way slower. You slide down there at ~2.85 speed, whereas jumping leaves you at 3. Sliding down steep slops like that is significantly slower than jumping past them. Interestingly, you start to speed up to 3.5+ speed at the very end of the slope, but it's still way slower, and you can't actually get that as by the time you hit that speed, you're too far to get on top of the blocks. The way i get the propeller is definitely optimal. edit: after further examination of his 1-1, it is absolutely horrible. He jumps around on the moving platforms without regards to how they speed/slow him up/down, he slides down slops he should jump over, and runs down ones he should slide on. I'm amazed he finished the level before the timer reached 453.

Yes, but it's still olde, and not useful for those using newer builds, including the only one for wiimote tasing.

and it's vaguely surprising that the master sword lets you go into human form in twilit areas; does that situation ever come up in the intended route
Nope.

1) all of the stuff in ordon at the beginning is skipped, except goats. 2) you don't normally get sword+shield by jumping off a bridge. 3) iron boots aren't normally got until after kakariko. 4) master sword usually comes much, much later 5) you're supposed to clear the faron twilight and finish the forest temple 6) lanayru isn't supposed to be accessible until later. 7) you normally need water bombs, zora armor, and lanayru twilight cleared to enter lakebed 8) i skip the goron mines dungeon. Those are the main things.
