It's ok, i understand. It's a different name, so who would have expected it to be me? Most people are pretty surprised to find out i don't use the 3 letter name rog for my email address.

Well, rog, it looks like someone took your idea and made an official build (3.0-590) with a fixed rerecord counter. I think they should've credited you, but I'm glad the fix is in an official release.
Yeah, that would be me, and i was credited.

Is that just because it's running in debug mode? I haven't tried debug mode, but I wouldn't be surprised if it required more processing power than a normal instance of Dolphin.
It requires more processing power, but ram usage is more or less the same. That is definitely not normal. The highest i have ever seen dolphin get is ~600 mb, and it's very, very rare for it to go over 500.

This game is not very interesting, but it seems well done, so i'll give it a yes.

Yes, quite a few times.

Well, I fixed the rerecord counter. I think anyway. I probably also broke a million different things, since my c++ experience is limited to a single class i took in HS. It appears to work correctly though (ie it compiles, and 30 seconds of testing indicates that it works as intended). The problem was that when loading a save state, it would load the rerecord count from the .dtm that was saved with the save state, and increment it by 1. So if you were to load a single save state repeatedly, it would correctly count the rerecords. However, if you were then to load a different save state, it would discard your rerecord count, and load it from the save state that you just loaded. Anyway, long story short, rerecord count is stored in two variables, so all i did was check if one was greater than the other, and set the lower one equal to the other if they weren't the same. As far as i can tell, this works perfectly, but if not, you're welcome to fix it for real. Patch is at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11111638/0001-fix-rerecord-counter.patch binaries (which also include natt's a/v sync hack) at: 64 bit - http://www.mediafire.com/?6p629w0j0bmrcjr 32 bit - http://www.mediafire.com/?6z6kuq3dv4o1cbe edit: this is now in master.

Well another person asked if i was going to do kisuke, so fuck it, i'm doing it. He's not as interesting to speedrun, but a number of people have expressed interest in it, so whatever. It's an easy game to tas anyway.

That would be the correct answer. I don't know how anyone thought it was anything else.

It crashes randomly in JIT. If it crashes, just load a save state and do something differently. Alternatively, you could also switch to interpreter the frame before, but then you'll need to do that every time you play it back, so that's not really ideal.

I think K-on is classified as PG but yea that's my thoughts
Well since it recieved its rating based on things that are not present in my avatar, i don't see how that is relevant. Still awaiting a real rating.

Can be done on the 3ds version. It's about 7-8 minutes faster than VC version. This still would not warrant a new category.

Just noticed, but what is even going on with trophies in this thread? Or Adelikat's AIM button...?

It's also the first game in which skipping to the credits is only a few minutes faster than not skipping to them. Not to mention we already skipped 90% of the game.

it's syncing fine, but is really inoptimal. I'm ahead by 280 frames as of the second fall, and after seeing yours, i fucked up climbing too. It looks like i could save somewhere in the range of 1-2 seconds. Once i finish watching yours, i'll finish the last 3 seconds of mine and post the .dtm.
I got an idea. Can we work together?
That sounds good to me. If i fix up the first part real quick, do you want to do the end?

Err...wtf just happened? You didn't die from the fall, you just got up, and entered the password and the credits roll right away...? edit: just got the credits, by jumping off the building, surviving, entering the password then climbing back up jumping off and entering the password again before landing. I died, selected restart mission, and the credits rolled. what is even going on here

Still desyncs immediately. Did you run in debug mode? What graphics backend did you use? Are any hacks enabled in the graphics config? edit: might be syncing... i can't believe you did this entire thing in interpreter.

Oh wait, I have to watch it in debug mode, right? Never mind...
Sounds like he did it all in interpreter, so no, but it'll run at ~1 fps... Checking to see if it syncs, but it's going to take like 20 minutes before even getting in game. edit: oh nvm, already desynced, with 616, debug mode interpreter, and other standard tas settings. Waiting for jlun to respond with the necessary info.

Need more info to get this to sync. What version did you use, what settings, what frame did you turn off interpreter (or did you do it entirely in interpreter?), etc?

It's not a silly vote because it doesn't agree with your opinion on the run. Remarks like those are among the reasons why people simply will not vote no or meh on runs, because if they do, they will get bashed by other, "more famous", users.
Last i checked, you are not required to explain your votes.

There's no such thing as a no vote for a run like this.
It already has 2.

Oh, and the white dot doesn't have to disappear; I only need to wait abit until the mission is triggered.
Oh, that's probably what i did wrong. I triggered chapter 3 right after dying. nope, that's not it. Just tried getting chapter 3 to start before even jumping off the building, then entering the password on the last possible frame before hitting the ground, and it still gives me the continue? screen without the option to retry the mission.
