Pushing the analogue stick further than would be possible with a normal controller is really no different than using left+right/up+down. I don't see how that could possibly justify a no vote. It is not emulator only, it just cannot be done with a standard controller. A nonstandard controller (or intentionally calibrating it wrong) allows this to be done on console.

Shouldnt the game version always be English unless there is some time saving bug specific to the Japanese version?
Nope, there is no longer any preference for the english version.

Launch it with -d for debug, then view -> memory.

Doesn't seem optimal. Can you fly over the level and land at the end?

To clarify even more, it's only a problem for wii games played with a wiimote. Wii games played with a gamecube controller work fine. Sorry if that was unclear before.

Wiimote recording works, but is prone to frequent desyncs. Also, playback with read only will never sync, so checking desyncs requires playing it from the start.

Soooo... After a good 4 months without checking out this thread, can anyone tell me what's new with dolphin? Is it becoming more stable? What revision should I get for the future TASes?
Much more stable. gc controller recording does not desync at all anymore (except in mario sunshine), it's much faster, and a whole bunch of bugs have been fixed. See the sticky for version/settings.

Aww, that's really sad... :_( I would have donated a kickass Desktop for you if you continued since money is not an issue for me, but due to my past experience of donating... I don't donate anymore until I see an end result. :o But yeah, I hope we can hear for a WIP anytime in the future... be it one year or two year later. Or by anyone else who wishes to continue the run.
Hah. I can reuse most of the parts from my last pc, and i have a decent video card already, so i'd only need a cpu, mobo, and ram. Unfortunately, i can't seem to find a job anywhere, so getting the last couple hundred i'd need for that is rather impossible at the moment. If that changes (with any luck, it may; i had an interview last week that went pretty well), it'd only be a few weeks before i could afford what i need. Worst case scenario, i'll get some money for christmas, and i'll restart it then. I'm definitely not giving up on doing it.

Sorry to hear that :( What kind of CPU and GPU were you using?
I am using a laptop with a 3 core 2.2 ghz phenom II, and 5450M >_>

I think might put this on hold for a while. I could live with 20-25% emulation speed in a 2d game, but when every single frame needs to be done repeatedly to optimize even the simplest of walking around, this is just getting too tedious for me. Even a single frame advance comes at a noticeable delay. I'll probably still work on it from time to time, but right now, i have no motivation at all to keep working on it, until i have some money to build a new computer. Expect my new wip no later than january 2013.

Posting to note that i voted yes for this because i thought it was a good april fool's submission. I absolutely do not think it should be published. It does what it intended to do well, but ultimately, this game has been done to death, and this is not even significantly different than any other run of it.

The main reason pcsx-rr was used is a bug in psxjin that make the game "loop" when a memory card is attached to the movie.
Isn't this an emulation glitch? Shouldn't you be trying not to abuse those?
Psxjin's behavior would be an emulation glitch. pcsx was used to avoid it.

LIES, ALL LIES. There is nothing noble about your cause. You talk and talk of how wonderful the world will be when you have taken over, but your actions sing a different tune. Your deceit is obvious to all who have not been blinded by your clever wordsmithing.

Your Führer would have you believe that he is a great leader, worthy of your trust and support. He would have you believe that he wants to help you, and the world. He would have you believe that his Reich is somehow different than the previous six. Do not let him pull the wool over your eyes! Your "Führer" is not even who he says he is! In fact, he is a child! A girl, of no more than 10 years. Is that really who you want to lead you? She says that she wishes to try a new strategy than the previous six reichs, but it's all a lie. The only reason her lie isn't known is because she kills those who find out! I don't have much more time here. It's only a matter of time before the führer's army finds me, and kills me for revealing her lies. I ask that you all do whatever you can do overthrow the führer. She is a tyrant who will stop at nothing to destroy the world. However, she is still young. If we can stop her now, while she is still a child, we can save the world. However, if we fail, and she survives into adulthood, there will be nothing we can do, and the world will be doomed.

Also, if anyone was wondering, the graphical glitches with the text at the start are caused by dolphin. It displays properly on the wii.

Hey. No promoting piracy now.
It's not promoting piracy. He probably owns the game. He just hacked it.
The hacked save lets you load anything on to the wii, ie you can load pirated stuff. So telling people how to do it would effectively be telling them how to pirate a wii.
Well yes, that is possible. I don't see how that is promoting piracy though. Running code that hasn't been signed off by Nintendo is hardly illegal, or even unethical. It isn't my responsibility to hide any information that could potentially be used for illegal activities. Should i also not do any runs using dolphin, since someone could also use that to play pirated games? By the same argument you are making, demonstrating the use of a sword is promoting murder. It's absurd, and i'd appreciate it if you didn't come to my submission thread to post such nonsense.

Giving away that it's an April Fool's submission in the first line ruins all the fun. The idea is that you're supposed to--you know--FOOL someone. Voting no.
If you read none of the text, skipping down the page to look for an encode, then you won't see it anyway. Not that I normally do that; just on April Fool's Eve (apparently) and April Fool's Day. Anyway, Meh vote on the run.
April fool's eve is just called April Fool's day in another time zone.
