An encode can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRn2kwJr198 . Unfortunately the quality is terrible (15 hours into dumping it in 720p at 2-3 fps, dolphin crashed, and i didn't feel like waiting another 20-30 hours for it). In addition, after 2 hours of trying to get the audio to sync, i had made no progress and only made it worse than it was to start, so it's just not included. I apologize for this, but it was the best i could do. If it's not good enough, watch it in dolphin (which will require a high end pc to play at full speed), or you will need to wait for a real encode.

365 is the exact revision that will cause desyncs (when the determinism fixes branch was merged). And i never said it would be difficult to fix, just that they won't sync as is. I never bothered to test how much the timing changed. My movie desynced on the second button press, and i saw no reason to upgrade, so that's all i know about it.

I assume you will also include the FifoBusy branch?
Sure. Was 2 small merge conflicts between master and save-fixes, but they were easily fixed. I'm compiling it now, i'll post to the dolphin thread when finished.

Hopefully now someone working on Dolphin can merge the latest revision (3.0-441) with "more-save-fixes", if it's that easy to do. Then we'll have an official revision that's perfect for SMS TASing! (Well, except for the TAS input improvements.)
i'll do it later if there no conflicts, which i don't think there are.

Unfortunately, that revision doesn't include the incredibly helpful "more-save-fixes" or "TAS-input" changes, so we'll have to wait for everything to be merged together before TASing on this game can start.
There's no conflicts with the more-save-fixes branch, so merging that fix into it is a 5 second job.

^^^^^^ I believe the GCN version is the same as the 1.2 rom.
It's not the same, but it's similar. The button colors were changed, as was various text, to adjust the buttons and such for the different controller. I don't know if there are any actual gameplay differences, but regardless, it's a different rom.

Is the wind waker demo in the collector's disc cropped or complete? I tested briefly superswimming to other isles but that's it, would be cool if this was more thoroughly checked to see if parts of the game were cut to make place on the game disc.
Collector's disk is 750 mb, wind waker is 1.2 gb.

I was always under the impression that the point of this whole site was to see how fast a game's PROGRAMMING would allow it to be finished. Exploiting hardware bugs is beyond the bounds of what we do here in my opinion.
At the same time, it's the game's programming that decides to just skip the fmvs if it can't load them.

233,985 frames, 1:04:59.73 is the final time. encode is going to take ~2 days.

Doesn't play for me in mpc-hc, using lav, and madvr. It doesn't display anything, and it just jumps to the end of the video. Interestingly, it stays open, even though i have it configured to close when finished playing. No errors or anything, either. Plays fine in vlc though.

The person saying 3.0-381 (TASinput) was 100% desync-proof is wrong with his statement, it seems.
It's most likely just an issue with mario sunshine. I've probably done over a million frames with it, on multiple games, and have not gotten a single desync, ever. Whereas, before the save fixes, it desynced about once per 5-10k frames, depending on the game.

Sorry, you're going to have to wait until wiimote recording works right for that.

TASing in dolphin only works with gamecube controllers. It works fine for either GC or wii games that use a GC controller, but there's no point even trying to tas with a wiimote, it won't sync, at all. graphics->advanced->dump frames, and config->audio->dump audio will allow you to create an avi. Unfortunately, the audio will not sync with the video, and this must be fixed manually.

Another day or two, and i'll be done with the new run. Up to the final boss, i saved 6:52.8, and expect the last boss to be faster by more than a minute, so i should get below 64 minutes. I could have saved an additional ~10 seconds, by using more smoke bombs, since i finished with 4, but this isn't worth redoing the last two acts for, since there's no guarantee that it would even be faster. I may be able to save 8 whole frames by hexing shopping to buy 4 less, but not sure if that will sync.

Any plans of doing TP? It's probably not as interesting, because of the routing superswim allows for in WW, but there are at least no serious problems in dolphin that would hold it back, like the tuner in WW.

pokemon snap doesn't work on dolphin either, actually. You can't show pictures to oak, but otherwise works perfectly. Injecting the rom into the GC oot works about as well as it does in mupen.

Yes, but you can destroy them with items if you have them.
What items besides bombs can you use?
Uh, sword, megaton hammer, maybe boomerang?, and probably some other useless things you'd never have in a speed run. The only real option is to use bombs, or pick them up, both of which require a not insignificant amount of time to get.

Is revision 3.0-378 the one in that thread? I'm currently using the top 64bit version from that thread.
No. If the titlebar of dolphin says Dolphin [more-save-fixes] 3.0-378, then that would indeed be a find version to use. if it just says 3.0-378, then that is not an acceptable version to use. If you plan to use the tas input, then you'll want to download the versions posted in that thread, which should say [TAS-Input] 3.0-381-dirty in the title bar. Also, if want to run slower than 10 fps, you could set a hotkey for frame advance, then make a script to press that key as often as needed to run at whatever fps you want. It's not the most elegant solution, but it works.

as well as replaying it from the start every now and then to ensure it still syncs).
At this point, i'd say this is entirely pointless in dolphin. It's been 3 months now, and not a single desync has been reported, except in one specific game where save states are broken and clearly do not work properly. Also, using the latest version of the tas-input branch (which can be found in the thread coolkirby linked above), you can use a controller while the tas-input window is open, it isn't disabled like in previous versions.
