Sorry, posted the opposite formula before. The edit above is correct.

rog, do you know what the formula is for finding a frame of input in a hex editor?
Convert frame to hex then frame*0x8+0x100 So frame 1000 starts at 1000-> 0x3E8*8+100=2040

If the issue ever comes up, i could compile it for you. Only takes a minute or two to update files, start compiling, and zip+upload them, so it's not a big deal to do.

I know that no changes will prevent it from syncing, but bzb might not want to put the TAS Input into an outdated rev.
That doesn't stop you from doing it yourself. Yay for open source.

Not necessarily if there's more save fixes or loading times are messed up by some accuracy fix and bzb incorporates them into his update.
You don't need to use such fixes. No changes to the tas input will ever prevent it from syncing.

the "more save fixes" (if I'm not mistaken) was the first rev with a TAS input, and its DTMs sync up fine with "tasinput" I think the era of crappy revisions not syncing up with crappyer revisions has come to an end
You are mistaken. It's been around for a quite some time now. And a revision about a month ago prevents movies from earlier versions from syncing. Before that though, they'll sync going back more than a thousand revisions.

Ok, seriously No. I fail to see how stuff like 5+ different versions of SMB here published along with a million hacks of nearly the same game would "help" the site in anyway.
Why would ports of the same game be distinguished? As long as they're not significantly different, a port of a game should still have to be better than a run of the original to be published. There obviously needs to be a line, as things like desert bus obviously have no need to be published, but i really don't see how publishing something like, for example, the recent xmen run hurts anyone. It's not entertaining at all, but it's short, and was well made.

I thought dual core works now.
uh, kind of. It doesn't break save states like it used to, and it doesn't seem to cause desyncs (though i haven't tested that extensively), but at least some times it causes problems while dumping video. Recording with dual core on and then playing back with it off usually works fine, but not always. At this point i'd still leave it off, just to be safe, especially since it doesn't really make much difference in most cases (i've only seen ~2 fps gain from it in some games). If you find a game where the performance difference is really significant, and you're not just frame by framing everything anyway, you may want to give it a shot, but i wouldn't expect it to work 100% perfectly. Idle skipping is the one that really makes a big difference, and that definitely needs to be off. Also, i tried using the zelda emulator, and it boots up, but it doesn't work. It skips past the pidgies without forcing you to take a picture of them (like what happens on the vc version without...ignore format changes? or one of the graphics hacks, i forget which, which then prevents you from moving the camera, etc. Also, there was still no sound, marking pictures was still broken, and the picture previews shown at the end are all black.

I'd support that being published.

Forget the emulator, just use droid64? That would be kind of interesting to see. And it might be possible to do it in dolphin, then manually add the buttons to select pictures to show to oak, and then just convert the .dtm to .m64 to playback with droid64. Someone do it.

Looks like this game is broke in dolphin too. You cannot mark any photos to show to prof oak.

However, I had no audio (I'm using HLE, maybe LLE solves this issue. However, I only have the necessary files from my wii on my desktop) and when I got ingame I couldn't move the camera. No graphic issues as far I could notice though.
HLE will cause desyncs, edit: and audio doesn't work with LLE either.
it run really fine: 30 fps

Not the most entertaining run i've ever seen, but good enough for a yes vote from me.

I'm giving this topic a mini-bump because no one has responded to my previous post and I have a new question. Could we emulate the Wii Virtual Console version of the game?
As long as it uses a gc controller, yes. edit: looks like it does, so there should be no issues. My laptop (2.2 ghz 3 core phenom II cpu) is getting 10 fps on the title screen though. As long as you can deal with that though, it'll work fine. Make sure you use the more-save-fixes branch of dolphin though, as it fixes apparently every last desync issue with gc controller recording. Links to that can be found in the dolphin thread (do not use the versions found on the official site).

Interestingly, the perfect dump compresses to 1.12 gb, whereas the other was 335 mb.

To run it from the hbc, you need the entire folder, including the icon.png, and meta.xml, which needs to go in sd:\apps\CleanRip\

It should work fine, once you have the hbc installed.

I believe you need to either delete your custom stages entirely, or move them to your pc. Easiest way is to backup your entire sd card, copy smash stack and bootmii to the sd card, then install the hbc. Then you can copy clean rip, as well as everything you had on it before to the sd card, and then you can dump it.

No. That only applies if you have those automatically downloaded stages that are available every day, since they can't be deleted. Not sure if nintendo even still does those.

Bah, i'm sorry. Cleanrip does indeed require HBC. You'll need to use smash stack to install the hbc, then you can run cleanrip from there. Also, just finished dumping, and i my md5 matches redump's.

That, or you can use a usb flash drive. Or you can even dump it in segments if you need to.

http://wiibrew.org/wiki/CleanRip Download that, put the boot.dol on the root of your SD card. Then use smash stack, to run it.
