Well, then you must be really good in this game doing it on console. But just for your information, if you want to submit your movie to this site when its done you have to use Snes9x because ZSNES is not acceptable here currently. Anyway I will gladly watch it no matter on which emulator.

Well Rock 'n Roll Racing is another game in which I think that style and entertainment in the races is more worth than speed. I think your idea is great to complete the entire game with the weakest/slowest car. I highly doubt you could survive with this car in Inferno where all your opponents already have maxed out Havacs (best car in the game) on real conditions so it will surely be entertaining to watch if you still manage it with tools. However I would strongly recommend you to use nitsujas improved Snes9x emulator instead of ZSNES as it has much more great features for movie-making. Good luck with this project.

This one looks really good. I have never seen so many different and crazy combos before. Working on it more than 3 months is a true dedication and it must be rewarded. I as a competitor will vote YES for this one. Good Job!

Then simply buy a USB-Adapter for your SNES Pad, once you do it you will never have problems like this. A must for a gamer who likes to play on emulators without losing the original feeling.

Thanks hero, I'm glad you like it. Oops sorry, I forgot to mention that I recorded the runs on Snes9x improvement6 not 7. I always thought there is absolutely no difference in the movie recording between this versions for most games. I would gladly switch to improvement7 but I can't toggle the turbo-buttons on this version (normaly by pressing shift and one of the 6 keys right above the arrow keys which I need for TAS-ing all the way. In improvement6 it works but in 7 I couldn't find a way to set them (haven't found them in "Customize Hotkeys" option). If someone who knows it (nitsuja?) could give me a hint how to set them in v7 I would be glad.

Strange... I always thought the groups are absolutely identical in the driving skills except for a different sprite. After playing this game and also making tons of time-attacks during more than 10 years I have never noticed a difference between Donkey Kong JR and Bowser as my times were pretty same fast no matter who I picked (I only drive at top-speed). Someone should confirm the truth, I guess.

Yeah, how could he miss that :-) Keep up the good work and don't forget to inform yourself about everything before recording the final run to not make a mistake somewhere.

Next Demo will be in about a 2-3 weeks hopefully. I'm not that far in the run to make it worth for another Demo currently. Also because of the Party-Time in this weeks I don't have much possibilities to work that much on the RBO run but I give my best to progress there soon.

I decided to make a 2nd 100% speedrun because the first one was pretty bad in planning. I could improve the in-game time to 1:07 with which I'm satisfied for now. Available in skill-based section on: http://www.freewebs.com/saturnsmovies/snes9xmovies.htm

Hmmm, I wonder how I could make the AVI-teaser without having the movie-file... However I'm not sure if the guys outside of Bisqwits could watch it so I decided to make a Standard-AVI to give everybody the possibility to see my run. I don't want to spoil the surprise with the final run so I just make some demos of it in the AVI. This way you will still have a surprise seeing the full run from start to end when its done. EDIT: Maybe I have misunderstood you Daniel. With movie-file I always mean the smv file which you can playback on Snes9x it is not a AVI file.

It's true that there is less text in the Japanese version, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't publish an English run; the gained quality due to being able to understand the language might outweigh the lost time.
I totally agree here. The English version was a correct choice IMO.

It's a in-game time of course. Such a real-time is impossible by far. Alright, I uploaded the 100% in 1:11 run in the skill-based section on my site: http://www.freewebs.com/saturnsmovies/snes9xmovies.htm

I don't think it's a good idea to manipulate such a great run only because of this. If hero thinks it's fine just let it be. I also have no problem with the grey bar in this fight as you can see everything you should there (Masamune got ass kicked from behind).

Just did my first serious 100% speedrun ever in 1:11. It's a skillbased live-run that was played single-segmented in one sitting. My route wasn't very optimal because of the lack of experience in a 100% run but I think the final time is OK for the first try. Currently too lazy to upload the smv though, maybe later or after a improved version.

Hmmm, just realized the strange thing with the Ice Beam which Michael has skipped... I also wonder how he can get the Spring Ball without it. However, I highly doubt lower Norfair before Maridia is a good choice. Plasma/Ice/Wave is 3x stronger than Spazer/Ice/Wave which is not very good for a speedrun and the Space Jump is required to pass the Chozo Statue Check right before the Golden Torizo. You can get the Screw Attack and the Torizo fight with the Green Gate Glitch but you can't get the Missile-Pack which is above the crumble blocks. The only explanation for Michaels route is that he either knows another strange and unknown trick to get the Spring Ball or that he just forgot to calculate the need of the Ice Beam for that. Maybe you should ask a Super Metroid Expert about this problem for clarification.

You are indeed a hero of this day! Awesome work and a absolutely flawless movie. The battles were manipulated to the limit and I honestly haven't seen any errors. I marvelled not bad as I have seen you make like 4 or 5 critical hits in a row with Berserker-Frog on Flea to save a ton of time here. The Guardian Battle was great, and just everything was optimized. A true Star-deserving movie for a absolute Star-deserving game what else can you say here... A clear YES vote and nothing else!

I use my original SNES controller for TASing and normal playing. FODA: If you wish to play on a SNES controller buy one along with the needed USB-adapter here: http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=160&products_id=4234&lsaid=304970

The Worm-Boss in Maridia is called "Botwoon". I think we should use the official names of them to avoid confusion. Good luck to you, JXQ with this very challenging project.

I'm about to leave Norfair on the way to get my first Power Bombs in Red Brinstar. I have to test if its worth to take the Ice Beam before or get it later when I return there on the way to Lower Norfair. In the last variation I save some time by not have to fill up my energy for this part but therefor it requires a bit longer route. I also get a additional Missile Pack which could be usefull in extreme situations later. Lets see what the test-results will tell me.

Yes, you just have to walljump your way up in this room. Although the Lava slows you down you can still perform a pretty high walljump of it. However in water (like in Maridia) the walljumps won't work like that which will make this part pretty slow and difficult to pass.

Thank you guys. The next WIP will be in about 1 month or maybe sooner since I haven't progressed that much so far. Angerfist: No. Currently I'm much more fascinated of the Reverse Boss Order (short - RBO) run mode since no one has ever recorded a movie for it (because of the nearly impossibility to beat the game in this mode). I will have to abuse heavy glitches all the way to make my way through Maridia suitless for example. Maybe I will do a pure any% after this one later.
