I agree that Zangief sometimes look slow, but in reply his hits and grabs look much more powerfull and harder. Like 1st round agaist Chun Li - the 130kg mass behind his KO punch which lifts this poor woman out of her feet :-( It's a matter of personal flavour which criterion is more important.

I agree. Castlevania has very good music. Real Dracula Style.

To be honest I would prefer my Zangief Run (compared to my Ken Run) because it has more variety. Every of the 24 fight rounds is absolutely different. Sure Shakespeare you did more combo hits but you also repeat some of the combos many times which look a bit monotonic sometimes. I don't count the Dizzys to much since they aways make the same picture: 1. 1st combo 2. Dizzy 3. 2nd combo 4. Dizzy 5. Defeat On this way you don't give the CPU character a chance to move or hit you. This is exactly what I tried to show in my Zangief Run. Letting the opponent hit you to counter him and let him look very bad this way (like in real fight). On this way both characters move and do hits and the fight looks more realistic this way. I think variety is more important than comboing. If you repeat for example a 8 hit combo 4 or more times its not that entertaining than if you would do less hit combos but different ones instead. I don't vote. I think you (Shakespeare) and me shouldn't vote for each other in this game, since we make the same movie and it's clear that everyone would prefer his own one. We should stay neutral and let the other guys decide that.

Progress Report: I'm in the "Area D4" right before the Storage room. Defeated the Wall-Faces (the ones of the Evil Leader in Nobilia) in D3's Control Room and set both codes to open all doors. It's that damn hard (by far hardest part in the game I did so far) to find the fastest way to progress in the Corridors as I have feared before but after inhuman amounts of testing I think I manage this problem slowly step by step. As a reward this part will be very entertaining and look great. Now at almost 115 min (only 4 min longer than at the end of WIP 12). In this 4 min I did about 20 % of the rerecordings I did in the previous 111 min! Now the legendar Greenhouse is close ahead. Already planning the move combinations to pass this area alive as fast as possible.

I got tired of this topic after the first 10 posts already. But maybe some people just need this empty discussion to waste their time a bit, who knows.

I would suggest to buy the SNES USB Adapter and just use your original SNES Pad on your PC through it. This way you can press all 8 buttons in the same time without limits at all. Making movies on Snes9x is much easier this way. I bought this Adapter myself and I'm very satisfied. I highly recommend it.

Finally got the missing parts for Tinker. Defeated Cleoptera. This boss gives the most Exp. except the final boss (more than 18000 Exp. points, it's almost the half of all exp. I got from beginning till him). The problem was he shouts after every hit and I get thrown back so I couldn't do many frequently hits in a row. The trick is I just have to select the dog and let the CPU boy hit the boss. This way only the dog will get thrown back but if I trap him near the boss the distance to the CPU-boy is not far enough to let him run to the dog away of the boss. Also very annoying were the Jungle parts with the bushes since I had to place the CPU-dog in a exact position as near as possible to the boy after he cuts the last bush to run through it faster (watch this part carefully to know what I mean). Bought all missing equippment I couldn't before because of extremely money problems in the beginning. Tested different routes here and took of course the fastest one to get everything. Also a note: I could skip the talk with "Fire Eyes" but as I said before I do a 100% run and have to complete everything, also this small sidequest talk. It also gives some nice information about what happened and about Prof. Ruffleberg. In Antiqua I manipulated luck to get a "Pixie Dust" of a Rogue-lure to not lose time buying it later. This was the last missing Good so now I got everything here. Kind of Defeated "Tiny" (he got scared and resigned) and got the Diamond Eyes again. A very difficult thing was also to optimize the entering in the Windwalker as fast as possible. I had to place the dog and the boy in the same place to the same time in the right point. This problem I had 4 times to solve. Now comes the most difficult thing: I have to find the fastest combination to defeat the "Sphere Bots" as fast as possible to move through the corridors of Omnitopia. Planning is much more important than pure running speed here. Updated to WIP 12! www.freewebs.com/saturnsmovies/snes9xmovies.htm Time: Exactly 111 min at the beginning of Omnitopia! If you have some questions or see something to improve in this part feel free to post your advice. Enjoy! EDIT: Oops, I noticed that the Pixie Dust is not the last Good I got. I still need the "Essence" which I have completely overlooked. Damn now I'm not even sure if I get a chance to get it on the way of the right enemies I still have to meet. I will analyze it carefully.

Fihlvein: After all I wish I never would ask for a AVI because Bisqwit destroyed my good temper and also the whole weekend for me. I don't have the Will and the time to study perfect AVI encoding (I could do one but it would be pretty bad in quality). I'm to busy with working and with learning in the vocational school. Makou: You could try to ask Bisqwit for help, but be aware that this could be dangerous to yourself (I already got this experience).

Actually I was much more dissappointed by your acting (ignoring, not replying on private question) compared to the movie format you did. If you would explain me that in the IRC channel instead of ignoring me (what maked me very angry - and surely everyone who would get this experience of the admin personaly) the debate would end imediately, and you would do it much easier for me and yourself that way. What happened afterwards was just because I was very angry and couldn't understand what you did. I just wanted to get a explanation as I asked you in a private messege (I wanted to spare the public of this) and you were even too cowardly to reply me there even after 1 hour (I would at least do that). Only as I started to post it here you reply like a rocket and explain it only because this is public and you feared to stultify yourself by this. That's fact. After that I didn't even cared of the movie at all. Of course it's ok if you want to improve the movies technical, but your acting was not fair at all.

Ouzo: No, mostly on a DVD player. Bisqwit forgot to describe that I also asked him why the hell he has picked exactly this movie for experimenting with OGM instead of any other movie that is rejected like the tons of Donkey Kong 1-min movies and here he couldn't give me an answer instead of ignoring me. It's just impudent to no end. Yes, I'm very dissappointed the way he has acted today, since this will be the only movie in OGM format. Because it is too complex newer movies will be AVI again he told me.

A very fast reply if it isn't necessary. For those who want know more: I just asked him afterwards why he has ignored me without reason and he didn't even reply. That's very humanly if you ask me, and I don't wish someone of you this to happen. Just a note.

Bisqwit: OK understood. Phil: It's not a problem for me to find a good player for this format, I just wanted to playback it on my DVD player (on CD) which only supports DivX, so I could watch it without using a PC.

OK I understand, but why using Vorbis? I agree it's a bit better than MP3 but we don't make high quality music-sound of "50 cent" so it's shouldn't be a difference in sound here at all. It's just because I would like to have a standard format so that I can playback the file on my DVD player with DivX support too. It's really too fiddly with this new and not well known format. And if OGM or whatever is really necessary, could you at least make a second choice for the downloaders who don't want OGM but AVI (like me)? Because you said that we haven't switched to OGM yet.

Finding out myself how to play a OGM file wouldn't be a problem at all. I just meant that I don't want to spam my PC with unnecessary media players and waste time. I guess many would agree if we just make an avi of this instead. It's really a unnecessary problem with this.

I also couldn't make the OGM format to run on any player and I definitely won't search for something that I don't need at all, only to run this format. Bisqwit: If you say it's for a experiment, isn't it a good idea to encode it as a AVI file again and replace it?

I don't even know how this could happen. I remember to write "Rad Racer Timeattack by Saturn" in the FCM title, don't know what went wrong. If you want just hex-edit this title instead of the ??????. I personaly don't care about that too much.

I also had some problems with the controller input. The buttons are set in different uncalculated fields. But luckyly I could solve this problem myself after experimenting different variations, now I won't change the input at all to avoid this. Maybe nitsuja or someone else would know the reason... EDIT: A hint: Just open up the original "Snes9x 1.43 WIP1" and set the input buttons you wish. It works perfect without errors on this one. Then just close it and open the improved version again. The buttons will be remembered as you have configured them in WIP1.

Absolutely correct solution and very well explained. Forcing black to play f2 is the key for the solution. I guess Fritz takes this move very negative because it also threating mate after f1=Q.

Although I don't know this game to much, the movie is very good. I liked how you fool around in situations you had to wait like spinning slowly and become faster and faster later (like I did in Secret of Evermore sometimes) also the last boss fight was very nice with this fire-byrds you shooted on him so often. The graphic of this game is also beautiful so there is matching all together. A YES of course!

You do well, but still a problem: What if black don't capture the rook after 4. Rg6 but moves the Queen to 4....Qd7! instead with dangerous Qd1++ mate-threat? :-) If you check the king he moves to a4 or b4 and then the black pawns will close your line to check one more time without leaving the g-line with the rook... and then if black captures the rook it won't be stalemate because the queen is already on d7. PS: Using Fritz won't help that much here, you need to see the correct line with human-intelligence. Computers are to stupid to see the solution.

You ónly have to beat all 4 cups in 100cc to get 150cc, no need for 50cc. But it still will be pretty boring to repeat this 4 cups in 150cc again so I agree with Walker to start from a savestate which should be a exception for this game. You can get red shells, stars and mushrooms even if you are 1st. I played this game a lot in the past and can confirm that. And I managed to overlap the 2nd place driver in 150cc myself WITHOUT tools on real console a couple of times in Ghost Valley 1 using the mushroom pretty often to make this great flying shortcut, and got him in the final lap. So at least in this course this shouldn't be a problem.

your solution to the other lines is correct: 1. c7+ Ka7 2. Ta6+ but what if black plays 2....Kb7! instead of capturing the rook?
