well, I'm sick of this project for now. I did the first 4 fights to complete the semi-finals, download the WIP here: http://rapidshare.de/files/1890283/SSF2_Tournament.smv.html I would be really glad if there are some guys who could record at least 1 more fight (next is Bison VS Dee Jay) with interesting combos (you decide who will win). So maybe we can make different movies for that and chose the most entertaining one then do the next fight step by step. Anyway I will go back to Secret of Evermore now since I didn't even record further since WIP 9 so far.

Exactly. The good thing is no fight will be won perfectly on this way, even if one character lose he still will do nice combos. But it's really hard to make such a movie since you have full controll of the progress now and have to break your head in planning which combo looks cooler or who should attack first etc... Definitely much more work than a Super Battle walkthrough.

Too_ Bored: I guess you understood wrong, I don't make a tournament between different players but only the tournament mode in ssf2 menu. I don't playing in kaillera, I will play both characters myself in the same time using slowdowns and rerecords. And about SFA2, I don't have enough experience to make a good movie for this game but if you know it good you could make a movie for it yourself. I would be glad to see other gamer to make interesting fighting movies of any kind.

I am planning to make a 2 player Tournament run (8 Human players, no CPU) for this game. On this way I can make every possible combo since I don't have the limits if I fight a CPU and can move the fighters in the position I need them. The good thing of this is that I will use 8 different fighters which will fight only 1 round and with balanced stars so that the hits will make more damage compared to Super Battle and also much more variating since I don't have to fight with the same character all the time. Every figter will have 3 fights so I have enough possibilities to show more impressive combos. I will take Ryu, Ken, Sagat, Bison, Guile, Feilong, Zangief and Dee Jay in the tournament since I think they can do interesting combos (except Sagat but I need him to make the impressive Air Hurricane Kick with Ken against him since he is the largest of all). But now the problem is I have to decide which fighter should win this tournament who should be 2nd, 3rd etc... I think I let Ryu and Ken fighting in the final (they are the Heros in the story). I don't want to tell more about that so that you will be more impressed while watching the movie without knowing before who will win.

As many people said before, this is an award for entertaining not directly for quality of the movies, and entertaining is mostly based on the game itself, and I really have enjoyed DKC 101% since this game has the most beautiful graphic on SNES IMO and also the sound is extremely good.

nitsuja is right, sometimes if youplayback the movie from the wrong savestate it desyncs too. I use the US-Version not the european version. Try to not load any savestates and playback the movie from beginning with turbo until you reach the place you want. If you want to be 100% sure try to use Snes9x improved v6 not 7 since I record it on this version now. Sometimes you even need to restart your PC if he worked very long time already.

hmm, how about 10 frames? :) (and 1 timeunit!) Your idea of pushing the red shell into the water was great, I just concluded it :) Voilà!
It seems that you kill all previous records in this game. I will follow this thread more carefully now since it hopefully will be a very interesting competition between "Mario-Genius" VIPer VS flagitious and Truncated. I'm impressed with the new idea to jump of the red shell, so you don't need to fall in the water.

OK, if you really like this movie I won't cancel it. The judges should decide that themself. And I agree with you, fighting games can be very entertaining to watch if there are unexpect moves and alot variation. I would also like to see some movies from other people for that game and I hope Shakespeare can do one soon as he promised before.

I think I should cancel this submission as long as there is no room for both movies. I realized that Zangief has more combo possibilities than Ken but the Ken version is more entertaining because everyone knows him and his special moves especially the multi-Hurricane Kick is impressive. I still have to point out that this 2 movies are not the same: Zangief Version contains the 4 missing CPU fighters of the Ken Version (Chun Li, Blanka, Ryu, and Ken) so if you want to see all possible CPU Opponents you have to watch both movies since in a Super Battle are only 12 Fighters you have to beat of the 16 possible. The other reason is that obviosly much more people have watched (or at least shown interest) for the Ken Version than this one and it got a much better overall voting quote (92% of 30 Voters) with only 2 no votes which were accidentally done as the poster pointed out later. So has someone something to say to this points? Should I cancel this movie or not?

Defeated FootKnight, got all items/armors in Ebon Keep and also got the strongest spell of the game "Fire Power" which is already on level 0 exactly same strong, maybe even stronger than level 4 Hard Ball! I can't use this spell permanently though because it requires Feathers and they cost 1000 Gold Coins for 5 in Gothica, more expensive than the best Armor you can buy there. Pay attention to the Prison escaping, it was one of the most difficult things to optimize since I had to press correct buttons in the right frames to let the enemies walk in the directory I need them to kill fast. Movie updated to WIP 9! www.freewebs.com/saturnsmovies/snes9xmovies.htm Time: about 82 min after FootKnight. Enjoy!

The dog can't pass the 2nd last plant if he is alive. And if he is down (O HP) he can't run so the CPU boy will catch up the dog again and get killed by the last plant anyway (the boy will be attacked no matter if CPU or not) if you can't reach the light-beam fast enough. The only way is to cast something on the boy to stop him for a while, so the exhausted dog can reach the light beam fast enough.

It's much faster if you can pass the Greenhouse with lights on since you can take the items in D4 room and don't have to turn back to switch the lights off. The Greenhouse is a very mysterios room. I spended months on it almost 10 years ago to find a way to kill the Flowering Deaths because rumors are they give the most experience for a fast level up, but it seems that they are the only enemies you can't kill in the game. Now the answer to your question is yes! You can pass the greenhouse with lights on. The last plant (Flowering Death) is specially programmed to kill you in any case even with Aura or Barrier with a 999HP instantly no matter what your defense is, but there is still a way to pass it. Now there are 2 choices: You can just watch one of my ZSNES movies for this game on www.freewebs.com/saturnsmovies/zsnesmovies.htm or wait for this movie after I reach Omnitopia to see exactly what to do there, since it's hard to explain with words.
