I also think it's a enemie-variable that is not stored exactly in the savestates. But I can control and correct it much faster now than before anyway. I updated the movie to WIP2 now at the top of the volcano! www.freewebs.com/saturnsmovies/snes9xmovies.htm

Thanks nitsuja, I recorded on exactly the settings you recommend (without left/right, up/down) and finaly realized why it still gets out of sync: Everytime I enter a new screen the enemies are on different places (no matter what settings) so I have to stop recording right after entering a new screen and playback the movie to up to this screen to make another savestate and rerecord from this state then. But it's no problem now since "truncated" saved my day with his hint. The game seems to be that random that even the best snes9x can't prevent desyncs after a new screen in enemie places (ZSNES was able to do that but his movie files are about 10 times bigger than snes9x' ones). But I will do it slowly screen by screen since I got even stronger motivated now because from now on it will be harder and harder and I have to think of the perfectest and fastest way to go through the game without leveling up AT ALL (if I can handle it).

Thank you very much guys, I used version 3 of snes9x improved but now I updated to version 5. I use WIP1 timing but would like to know what other settings are good for that like should I turn Fake Mute desync workaround on or sync samples with sound CPU. Currently I enabled this 3 options I mentioned while recording. To Truncated: A very special thanks to you since I didn't even know that I can playback a movie right from the savestate and not have to do it from beginning on, on this way my biggest problem is cleared now, even if it still gets desync I can control and rerecord it even in late parts of the game easyly now. About "Turbo" I knew before, otherwise I would be lost... Allright here is my first WIP: www.freewebs.com/saturnsmovies/snes9xmovies.htm

Now I have finally realized how hard it will be to make a perfect movie of this game. Oh my god I'm only in Bugmuck for the first time and just defeated Thraxx (the red giant bug) in a total recording time of 10:42 including the long starting intro but worked my 3rd day already. I have realized that the recording goes very often out of sync in most cases if there are many enemies on the screen and if you have to attack them. I always have to stop recording and playback the movie to be sure it is in sync after every new screen and this costs a lot of time and nerves. At the beginning it's OK but the longer I record, the more time it will cost to playback it so has anybody a suggestion which sync setting is the best for this game? I use the original US version 60frames/sec.

Good news: I start making a timeattack on secret of evermore but with 100% items (this is my style, for those who wanna know where to get everything). This will be a very long project so I guess if my Will is strong enough to finnish it I get it t in about 2-3 months. About "Dry Ice", I thought so that nobody will know about this one. Well lets see how many years this secret will still be undiscovered. This game just has the most secrets of all games on snes, I played so many of them and nothing is compareable to this one in secrets. I will post my progress of this movie here if I have time. If anybody has some helpfull advices I would be glad.

yeah, thats exactly the main reason why I made a 2nd version, because I didn't used the 2 water pin glitch. Of course I used it in the 2nd version and got on this way 6 magirocks more than before. But overall I was in every stage better too (correct level for every situation, not to high for wasting time to level up and not to low for wasting time in beating hard bosses). EDIT: sorry I forgot about the ingame time, yes I knew that its not counting like the realtime, for example if you enter a new room the time stops as long as the screen is black to change the room.

This one is really old in the last time. Im a little drunk now (saturday night, back at home now) but as I said before its the fastest time ever made so far.

I'm just saying that Capcom staff's record might be beatable with no re-recording (im not saying that sent .smv to SDA), therefore it didn't amaze me much.
I told before that I beated the capcom staff record 4 years ago without rerecords and slowdowns with a time of 6.775 seconds very closely. But here its not just beating this record (I agree with tools its easy) but to make a fastest time that is possible to make even with tools. During the recording I improved my record many times (from 6.157 to 6.125...) to reach a peak (5.902 sec) that I couldn't improve anymore. I tried everything that could help and this is the limit so far.

(see varies "combos" site, such as this. ssf2 vid there impresses me.)
I watched this vid and it is recorded on another version of ssf2 (it's ssf2 turbo I guess) which has more combos and variations added than on this snes' ssf2. For example in snes ssf2 you can't hit your opponent twice in the air during jumping with a normal hit except hurricane kick but on this newer version you can do it, so there are much more combos possible. On this way you can reach 10 or more hit combos easyly. Because of this you can't compare the combos of this version with the snes version of ssf2. Show me a site on the Net that has a video of SNES' SSF2 making a faster time in "Time Challenge" like this one, no matter what tools used... I guess you will search for nothing.

just download the smv file and play it back on snes9x wip1. Maybe I will post a avi file on my site soon, but not right now since I need the space for other things

thats exactly the problem I got to, before entering the blue door it gets desync... My 1st version of Terranigma (2002) was not 14 but 9:39 hours, I guess you took the time from another movie and changed it with Terranigma. And the 2nd version (recorded 2 years later with more experience) was improved to even 8:42 or so of course for 100% items included. This run is not on zophar and only available on my current homepage www.freewebs.com/saturnsmovies We have to wait if someone can fix this desync problem in snes9x so that people can record a tool featured terranigma run to improve the game time again. If someone can report this bug to the snes9x programmers that would be very helpfull, guess one or another of them read it anyway here. PS: Thank you Burning Death

everybody has his own opinion, but the name "Time Challenge" says it. Its just a single fight but you can compete on this way too and seeing if after a few years the record can be improved or not. I guess for one or another this would be a good motivation to make a better time. I don't meant you HSZZZ, the last 2 or 3 voters voted no without writing something. OK if it is only for entertaining and not for pure timeattacks, it seems you can not do any kind of fighting game timeattacks at all then.

Is anybody interested in playing ssf2 LIVE against someone else through the net? This way you could really see if a player is good or not because here you need reactions and creativity. To shakespeare: I would be interested to play against you live. What do you think?

well I see the guys vote "no" and dont even write down why? As I said before, it looks not that entertaining but this is a single fight timeattack and propably the fastest time ever done in Time Challenge. For me it was a very important goal in the game to beat once the capcom staff record, I did it 4 years ago first time and now with tools even better. Just try it yourself and you will see how hard it is to to come at least near to this unbelievable time. It just looks very easy but I spended 3 hours of frame by frame work. And that the movie is very quick (31 seconds) its not a reason for me that this movie is automatical bad. Those who know ssf2 very good would understand how important it is to make such a time. In the Guidebook of ssf2 on real snes is standing: "those who can beat the capcom record can call themself as one of the best ssf2 players ever". Shortly It's a timeattack, and if it is the fastest currently why It should be bad? Its nothing else like any other time attack for any game.

actually Im not an expert on sf2 turbo because I played only ssf2, but why dont you make it yourself alex? I saw your donkey kong run and with this skill you have definitely potential to make a good sf2 turbo movie too.

to feitclub: no the difficulty level don't play a role in tie challenge. The opponent has always 8 stars no matter how many stars you set in options. to Josh: I would very like to know the fastest time of the tournament players you mentioned in seconds and .000 digits if you know the time.

Nice combos. But as I said before you used balanced Stars on both characters and in Super Battle you are 4 against 8 stars and the hits don't take that much damage like in this video (compare your ken vs Sagat's first 3 hit combo to get him dizzy "air HK, MP and FireDragon Punch" I used the same combo myself in the movie and it took almost 2 times less damage of sagat. But anyway good combos.

I guess we need a world record time (at least so far) in time challenge of ssf2. I will submit the movie to Bisqwit. I will let you guess what character I have used to make a faster time than 6 seconds... You will definitely not expect who it is :-) (not Ryu, Ken, or Feilong) Just see yourself, and since it don't take many time to do such a movie I would be glad If someone is brave enough to challenge me and try to break this record-time no matter what character you use. PS: Nice combos shakepeare

you're right feitclub I'm sorry about that. I honestly don't wanted this to happen myself. I would very like to see this 100% combos because Im sure they will not do a full life bar damage. At least in SSF2 8 star super battle I guess, but I would be glad to see them if Im wrong. I did 2 different 8 hit combos (in both rounds against sagat) one of it was 6800 points combo, highest score possible I guess.

Thank you "/*-" nice to hear. to alex: cpu ken beated you in 6 seconds simply because the cpu has 8 stars in time challenge, but you have less than 8 cant say how much exactly but its provable that the same hits of the cpu take more damage than your hits if you fight on timechallenge. I guess its like a 8 star super battle in this case the cpu has 8 stars and you have 4 stars everytime. So you cant compare the cpu time. My fastest time so far is 6.775 seconds and this on zsnes without slowdowns at all (impossible on zsnes anyway)! sadly I don't made a movie of this. to shakespeare: I guess you don't want suggest me the (in your opinion) better combos and tell me what are my bad combos as I asked you yesterday. [Taunting expurgated by feitclub: I warned you about that]

To feitclub: I kept in mind of the knockdowns during the recording I used them as less as possible but in some cases they were unavoidable: For example against T.Hawk in first round I did the knockdown before finnishing him because he would get dizzy after the next 2 hits no matter what hits, I tested all of them so I decided that I do as much damage as possible in this 2 hits, thats why I used the small but best Dragon Punch. Therefore I could finnish him with a impressive air-hurricane kick instead of do more hits after the knockdown. There were 2 or 3 cases like this one why I knocked down the opponents.

I just can't understand what problems some guys have: I worked 1 week on this run, spended alot of time to find the most impressing combos in every stage, do so many dizzy combos that I got myself dizzy and than someone tell me I do bad combos. Compare your world warrior movie with this one, in variation of different combos a blind man would see the difference. And I did not aim for the fastest time by far, if you watch the movie without speed up you will see that I used more Low-punches and kicks than I needed only to make a more impressed look of the combos and more variation. If you think you could make a 1000 times better ssf2 movie just go ahead and post it here. Anyway thank you shakespeare for this nice messege.
